Since only one instrument is used, I decided to try something different and use this piece as a basis for advice on transcribing your favorite video game music.
I wish I could get this one out sooner, but this took unbelievably long to make. I was working on this bit by bit for a while, but if I didn't just buckle down and only focus on the video this month, it would have taken even longer to release. I think I have a newfound admiration for animators now.
Thank you for reading and watching! I put in a ton of work to make this video the absolute best I could make it, so I hope you enjoyed it. I'm definitely going to have to find other ways to make content so this can be a once-in-a-while thing (it takes too long), but I'm looking forward to what I can create next! :)

This video just briefly describes where my thoughts are going forward. I haven't kept my promises so far, so I'm being more careful about setting expectations. I'd like to say more than what's already said in the video, but I'd like to try to avoid repeating my mistakes, and do a little more showing than telling.
Thank you for watching! I've been gone for an incredibly long time, so it's understandable that I should gain back trust from the ground up. I hope I can deliver high-quality content throughout my time here again! :D
We also chase a Bean Star, or somethin'.
Prison episode next?!
It's also raining, by the way. That may or may not cause connection problems. Hopefully not!
I have no idea what's happening next, so hopefully I don't wander around aimlessly again!
Anyway, good day everyone! I spent a long time debating whether I should make this video, but I figured transparency really couldn't hurt.
Welcome to another episode of Game Suite Zone! This time, we'll be dissecting "Travels to the North" from Epic Battle Fantasy 3 -- an old flash game from Newgrounds! I thought I'd try something a little different, so I went for another game that I played during childhood, but on the internet this time.
Here are the topics we covered.
1) Tempo & Time Signature - 0:36
2) Persian Strings - 0:44
3) ??? - 2:06
4) Tambourine - 3:30
5) Bansuri - 4:20
6) Pipa - 5:15

Here's the video with all of the note patterns: youtube.com/watch?v=l6rJJC9SEMM&ab_channel=shadowmetalmario1
Over these past few months, I've continuously been trying to improve the series. After a lot of planning, worrying, and thinking, I wasn't comfortable doing another episode unless I put the improvements into action.
I'd say this is a good direction in terms of its entertainment value. The only thing about this direction is that it takes significantly longer to produce a video. When I had all of my materials together, a GSZ video took about 1 to 2 days to create. This video took at least five. Manually animating all of those pictures takes quite a while longer than I anticipated.
It was all definitely worth it, but that just adds even more time to create something I can't just release so often. There's other stuff I'd like to talk about, but I can save that for a little later. I'd just like to catch up on whatever else I missed while I worked in the shadows of shame.
Thanks for reading! Hopefully this episode was a lot more interesting for you. :)

There are other things I'd like to mention and talk about, but they have separate videos that'll be coming soon -- and by soon, I mean, "the next two weeks" kind of soon! I miss talking to everyone through videos, so content like that is pretty overdue.
Plus, this channel's been kinda inactive lately. ^^'
This will likely be the last stream for the year, unfortunately. Happy Holidays!
All of you not only made live streaming a really fun and nice experience, but also made what I do on the channel more fun and worth it than it used to be. I'm sorry things haven't been so consistent, but I thank you for making things more fun than I could have asked for. :)
I'd also hate to do it again, but I might have to cancel this one if the quality gets as terrible as last time, so I'm hoping for the best. Did what I can, but I don't know if much will change.
After quite the amount of miscellaneous streams, we can finally start our next game in the Mario & Luigi series! I never actually beat this one myself, so what happens next will usually be a surprise.
Kinda experimenting with new thumbnail designs, by the way. I'll see where this goes.

With all of the miscellaneous streams we've had so far (a lot, actually), this will be the last one before the start of Superstar Saga!
Like usual, I'm not really sure which game to do, so I can always just start with Mario Kart 8 and work from there.
But sorry for the inactivity once again. Things should be getting back in order! Hopefully you can join me again sometime in this stream or a future one. :D
I guess I'll just start off with random online races, unless others would like to join in! Tracks will be set to default, so that no one needs the DLC to join. Feel free to add me if you'd like to join in. ^^

By the way, here's a poll asking what you think of this series, if you'd like to contribute: http://www.strawpoll.me/14164716
Despite this piece being easier to cover, the episode still took quite a while to complete. That makes me doubt that I can ever really make this a weekly thing. I basically did almost nothing but work on this new episode to see if I can get it out in a week, but I missed that deadline a few days ago.
I'll see what else I can do, but I'm not confident that I can produce content at this kind of rate. It's a shame, too, because I don't like keeping the channel without content. The next episode will probably be shorter, but I don't think I can keep working on it like this. The only way to produce more content is to choose shorter/easier pieces to cover, but that's not what I intended this series to be in the first place.
Ah, whatever. We'll see what happens. I hope this video was interesting for you!

It seems I will never cease to be amazed at how challenging it is to cover even the most seemingly easiest pieces in video game music. It's unfortunate that this episode took so long to complete, but I'm glad it's done at long last! This should give you a decent, basic introduction to the workings of 8-bit music and what was used to make it, but you can always just use Famitracker (it's free), or even an 8-bit soundfont (ex. NES soundfont), to make the music. It's all up to you! I'd just like it if you learned something new today.
As for Game Suite Zone itself, I'm thinking of changing the process for how I choose and cover new pieces. As fine as I am with working on these long projects, I still want to bring content to this channel often! From here on, I'd like to try covering pieces that I'd probably be more familiar with. We'll see if there's an issue with episode uniqueness or not.

Hi, and welcome to the stream, where we'll be trying to remake Shantae (GBC) music on a whim! My abilities are pretty limited, so there are pieces I can't cover yet, but feel free to bring up suggestions!
This is Game Suite Zone Live, where we live stream our attempts at covering video game music!
Here, you can get a look at the creation process that usually goes behind the making of a Game Suite Zone cover. Game Suite Zone videos can take a lot of time to create and release, and that time typically varies quite often. With these live streams, we get chances to take quick looks at pieces we can't make videos for fast enough. Even then, the pieces that appear in these streams are never not eligible to have their own videos, so this can give us head starts on doing that.

I'm still getting used to this change, but it really seems like this huge upgrade will open up a lot of opportunities here and there. Everything's faster, and I can do things I normally couldn't do before (like render in 60fps without it taking 5 hours or so). I could probably even live stream work on a Game Suite Zone episode if I wanted to!
I'll definitely just casually explore some of the new options I have as time goes on, since I'm sure there's a lot I can take advantage of, but it feels great to invest more in the stuff I spend a lot of time doing.
Wish I didn't have this problem, but I do, so I rage about it for a minute and a half -- by speaking calmly, of course!
But yeah, I don't know how long this will go on, so I thought it'd be best to let everyone know.
Oh, and I guess we'll beat up a giant blooper, or somethin'.

The piece itself took forever to cover (with over 64 patterns), so I'm thoroughly surprised I managed to condense all of this into 22 minutes. Making this entire video was a huge challenge to overcome, but I'm glad I managed to. We don't have an orchestra with us to cover this piece, but luckily we have virtual instruments! This can be a nice introduction to orchestra stuff.
I hope you learned something new today, and will possibly look forward to future episodes! If you have any suggestions on what I should tackle next, feel free to let me know! I can't guarantee I can pull it off, but you never know.

Here, we can pretty much do almost anything, as usual. This time, I'm guessing there will be a bit of Smash and Paper Mario (it's been a while, so I figured it wouldn't matter much). Mario Maker can also work, now that I have my Gamepad charger!
But yeah, just let me know if you have any suggestions. Polls are still here. Super Mario RPG will probably be streamed, since it has the most votes. It's currently set for July 1st, but can be streamed next week if you want to!
