By this point, I was about nearly 2 years in to the whole 'Thomas Music' career thing but from early on, I'd always wanted to be more versatile. I was making R&B and Hip Hop stuff before I started any of that.A big sign of that here is that the bassline has practically been lifted from 'Dre Day' from the 1992 album, The Chronic. This was before I became more used to writing my own melodies as my early work has a lot more inspired chord progressions and melodies (the courts are coming for me).The reason for coming back to this one is for a VERY special video that's due out very soon, I won't give any clues because the biggest one has already been said pretty much. This was the first disco kind of track I ever did and I think still the only one I've released so far, I guess Returning Home - B Side kinda counts but this is definitely more catered to the disco sound. I wanted to write a stereotypical sounding early 80s post disco that you'd expect between at least 81-83. The sound of 70s disco hadn't fully disappeared by this point and evolved into a slightly more electronic sound as showcased here. Harold The Helicopters Theme (Series 2) S.A Music 2022-10-25 | To infinity and beyond! Oh wait, wrong show.The long awaited Harold The Helicopter Theme in it's full length from Series 2! This is probably the most majestic theme in all of Thomas (next to Stepney's Escape to Sodor, for me anyways)There was always the one from the games that was easily accessible for years but the verse that was heard in the Runaway was only ever heard in that episode and I think it's probably the best piece from the entirety of Season 2. I've used a bit of those here from Arturia's versions but I do like the Emulator II for these types of things too. There are some themes that sound so skeletal when the melody is removed though, this one that kind of gets away with it.This is one of my favorite themes though, so slick with a dash of suave. This is one of the few themes from Series 2 that uses the piano alonside the The Trick(Diseasel) Theme.
