OSRS: Solo CM advanced guide
updated
This guide walks through each wave one by one, taking you from floor 1 to floor 8 and introducing every new mechanic you'll come across. I'll explain how to deal with everything you can encounter, as well combinations of them. I'll also give you some tips for doing consistent deep delve runs, doing multiple floor 8s in a row without running into issues.
I'm sure more stuff will be discovered over time, and Jagex may even make more changes, but hopefully nothing goes out of date too quickly.
I've been consistently getting 12+ delves using the methods in this video, hopefully you have as much success!

2 Maul - 4 Ralos, then Noxious Halberd from 1 tile away, running around constantly to dodge the AOE. Dying only loses around 8 seconds compared to going to Nardah so be aggressive and don't be afraid to be below 43HP. If you use Karambwans then picking up 10 Karambwans at Ferox when you die actually makes dying quicker than Nardah altar overall.
If you want to learn more or have any question, you can watch my max efficiency solo corp guide here: youtube.com/watch?v=rGQrQS6Z0Rs
The headline rate of 12.5kph requires an Ely and some cool step under tech, but even if you don't have an Ely, or don't want to learn something difficult, 12+ kills per hour is still completely achievable by following the methods in this video and optimising your setup. I've uploaded an example 12 kill hour with loads of mistakes/deaths in order to show this is doable even without perfect play: youtube.com/watch?v=YHQ2c-063bw
I've laid this guide out in order to show the basic method, and then a load of optimisations you can make to improve your kills per hour. The intention is that you can look down the list, see how much each method will increase your kills per hour, and then make your own judgement on whether or not a certain method is worth the effort for you. I'd highly encourage everyone to try out dodging AOE attacks. Even the basic method (running around in a square 1 tile away from corp) will mean that 25% of Corp's attacks will deal no damage to you whatsoever, which drastically increases your kills per hour - you'll be getting 11.5 kills per hour without much effort.
If you have any questions at all do leave them below and I'll do my best to respond!
FAQ:
- ZCB prehit is not worth it - it allows you to attack 3t earlier than a halberd on average, but the loss of an inventory space, the loss of 2 ticks of halberd DPS, and the HP it drains when it procs mean that it will cost you time on average.
- Inventory locking can be useful if you struggle to bank quickly, though you'll need to make sure you reorder your items whenever you die to ensure the correct items are being locked.
- Echo boots only target monsters in a 3x3 around you so won't work when you're 1 tile away and therefore aren't worth bringing.
- Spellbook swap improves your kph by around 0.4 as a result of the additional venges every kill.
Next time I'll be finishing off the clan diary and hopefully taking on Yama!

Let me know how you found the format of this video - not really sure the best way to get across all the information so it ended up just being a very commentary-heavy video - I'm more than happy to have the videos just be clips with music in the background if that's better.
In this video I get 44 purples, from a mix of regular solos, CMs and scaled raids. There's also a bit of Araxxor in there too!

This is an in depth look at some of the ways you can maximise your points per hour doing solo CoX in Old School Runescape.
To make the lockpick/cape point clearer - lockpick saves 4s, taking cape WITH lockpick only saves an extra half second. Taking cape alone is worse than taking lockpick alone.
Please do leave a comment if you have any questions, or message me on Discord or in game. My details are shown on screen at the end of the video.

This is an example run showing how to do the hybrid role in a 3+12, it's intended to help people get into Ironman friendly 3+12 CoX by having a visual reference. Main accounts should use black chinchompas rather than barrage, but on an Ironman account it's not worth catching chins until much higher scales.
Hybrid is the hardest role as you need to switch gear during Olm, mage and melee are much easier - so if you understand this video, then you should be able to do any role when you join teams.
Do leave a comment if you have any questions - otherwise we have a questions channel in the Discord above and are always happy to help!
This is how I've been most recently doing my cox grind as I hunt for the Twisted Bow - there are very high gear requirements, and the methods aren't the easiest, but if you like pushing yourself and just want the best points per hour with paying for boosts, then this might be useful for you.
Update: I'm now taking ralos instead of bgs, use it on the melee hand after 2 mauls and then you can also ralos the head - it's the same expected defence drain as a bgs but slightly more consistent, then it also saves a few minutes in the head phase too!
Let me know if you have any questions at all and I'll try my best to answer them.

Lost a little time messing up prep which would've brought this up to 170k points per hour.
The method requires a tank alt (just like for 3+12s) plus another level 3 alt which is only used for stacking mystics and doesn't need any gear or stats. You also need shadow and scythe - check out the guide above if you're interested in learning more!
UPDATE: Ham joint+Avernic defender will kill the mirrorback if you have max gear and 1/2 pieces of Inquisitor's armour (it hits 35, then reflects 21, dealing the full 36 required) - saving a few ticks every kill. This does affect where you'll need to stand later on in the kill to pop the red crab where you need to.
Not going into much detail about setups/DPS/specs as the mechanics are fairly straightforward. This video is just a few example kills with instructions to show you how to deal with each of the three rotations in a standard and repeatable way which doesn't lose ticks, and minimises damage taken.
I'm sure there will be better methods in future but hopefully this is useful as a day one guide!
Hopefully you enjoyed the video, let me know if there's any issues with the quality or if there's anything else you'd like to see me talk about next video!

This guide will show you how to do 3+12s on all Ironman teams. 3+12s are the best points per hour in the game for Ironmen at the moment, excluding purchasing megascales. This video will show you how simple these methods are, and I hope it encourages you to try them out yourself!
Updates:
- Accursed Sceptre isn't very good, Ralos/ZCB saves far more time
- The 'Okay' layout SCSPF CCSPF will give you the 'weird' mystic lure but oriented east/west instead of north/south which make the lure different. If you go to the far east of the room and line the mystics up all along the wall, you can lure them into a pile in the south east of the room.
You can expect raids to take around 40 minutes once you get the methods down in max gear, or 45 minutes with worse gear, and you have a 1/3 chance of seeing a purple every single raid.
I'll do my best to answer any questions in the comments!

It relies on some red-x-ing to keep the boss still, to ensure you don't lose ticks - this also ensures you do 2 scythe hits for every 1 attack that Cerberus does.
Because Cerb is only attacking you every 2 scythes, you'll do twice as much damage before it can summon ghosts - this means you skip ghosts nearly all the time, while also using no prayer (if you flick like I do in the video), and without losing ticks.
This is a great way to do very long trips and maintain EHB, or just sustain Key Master Teleports if you're an ironman.
Couple of huge drops in this video, and loads of purples overall - hope you enjoy!
This is mostly just an intro video to the series to show you how I do CMs and where my account currently is. The next video will be a load more CMs, a little bit of revs, and a good amount of Nex as well, so subscribe if you'd like to see the progress towards the Tbow, and what comes after that!

I'm sure this won't be rank 2 for very long, but it's been there for over 24 hours now at the time of recording!
This run was recorded shortly before Jagex released a blog post stating that glory does not affect loot chances at all, so I won't be going for glory PBs any more. So I thought I'd upload the best run I got while going for rec, since it was fairly clean overall. Only took damage twice throughout the whole fight, including the boss, which ended up costing me rank 1, both were really avoidable damage as well.
Wave 6: Took damage from a manticore orb, I'm not sure how I messed this one up - it was the only thing attacking me and I must have just miscounted it in my head.
Wave 9: I took damage from a solarflare orb as I was scything the manticore. I was planning on clicking on the manticore to drag me into melee range, which would've pathed through the orb and avoided the damage, but the manticore died on my last scythe, so there was nothing left to click, and I didn't react in time.
I've now corrupted the quiver, so I will be starting an ironman progress series soon (starting with the Twisted Bow grind) so subscribe if you'd like to see that!
Not my glory PB due to bad modifier choices early in the run, but thought I'd upload it as an example run showing how I'm currently trying to beat my 40,783 glory run.
They're really reliant on modifier choice RNG, and spawns to some extent, but I'm finding glory runs to be a really fun balance of speed and skill - hopefully more people start getting involved with it and pushing it higher.
No boss footage as it doesn't count for glory for some reason (and I took loads of damage during it).

Made a lot of mistakes throughout but still only 14/20 doom, and this gave me my pb glory (damageless points stack up too).
Thought about resetting after instantly taking 3 doom on wave 2 but we pulled through.

(A) If the ranger spawns on A, go to B, and the shaman will always be off ticked.
(B) If the ranger spawns on B, go to A, and the shaman will always be off-ticked.
This is an explanation of how to start every wave in the Colosseum tick perfectly, ensuring that there are only ever two monsters which can attack you. Additionally, it shows you how to guarantee that these two monsters will always be off tick with one another.
This is aimed at people who are already fairly comfortable with solving stacks, dealing with the Fremmeniks, and working out where to position themselves for reinforcements spawning. This method gives you an ideal way to start every wave ensuring you're able to flick against everything that can see you, but you'll still need to do the rest of the work yourself.
Notes:
1) You need to start tick perfectly, leaving exactly 5 ticks after you click 'continue', you can use visual metronome to help with this (and you can also further set this up to show you what ticks to pray against the Fremenniks on)
2) This ensures only two mobs ever see you on wave 7 and above. On wave 6 and below, 1x1 magers won't path the same, but these waves are easier anyway.
3) There are a few combinations of monsters that can spawn on tile A and B:
(a) Two of the same style = pray against them.
(b) Two manticores = go one tile west of B, and they'll be off-ticked.
(c) One mager and one ranger = go to A or B, they'll be off-ticked (apologies I didn't cover this in the video)
(d) One manticore and one mager/ranger = this is what the video shows. If the manticore spawns on tile A, run to tile A. If it spawns on B, run to B. It will then automatically be off-ticked with the other monster (regardless of which monster it is).
4) This won't always work with Dynamic Duo, as this causes an extra mager to spawn somewhere in the arena that isn't one of the usual spawn points.
5) Solarflare 3 is a bit tricky, as the orb will reach you quickly. Regardless of where the manticore spawns, you need to step off tile A or B (pathing west or south) on the final possible tick before the orb reaches you, in order to keep them off ticked.

4 brew prep after Shamans is really nice as you don't need to mess around in the bank at all, it's especially nice if you're using bowfa+torture. If you want to use blood fury charges or have a tbow then this definitely isn't necessary and you can just no prep as normal.
Ignore my death, I knew I could get a sub 30 and choked sadge
Invocations are shown at the start of the video, you can downgrade to start all rooms at level 2 instead of level 3 which will give a 1/3 chance of Zebak only being level 3 after Kephri, if machine gun Zebak scares you.
Few mistakes, but otherwise a good example run:
- Turned rigour off at enrage Zebak as I thought the room was done.
- Took a ball on Akkha's final phase.
- Brewed right before the first down on P2 of Wardens, so my first few hits were lower than they should have been (this actually was enough to shorten the second down).
- Took a mage hit off prayer during P4 of Wardens.

I haven't seen a guide for how to prayer flick at Kree'arra before. Every guide says "pray range the whole kill, or you'll die quickly", but it is actually possible to prayer flick at Arma GWD, and avoid 2 out of 3 attacks from the mage and melee minions.
This method is quite tricky to get your head around so I tried to make the guide as informative as possible, using a lot of visual tips and metronome so that the transition from one tick to the next is clear.
This is the first time I've made a video like this, so apologies for the quality, I know there's some sound issues, and the video/audio might not be perfectly synced at points, but I think the video does enough to explain the method.
To get into cycle:
- Start in the north-east corner of the room so that the minions are automatically attacking on the correct ticks.
- Look for the tornado coming out of Kree'arra.
- When you see this, look to see if the mage minion starts its attack animation on the next tick.
- If it does, then you're on tick 2 of the 15 tick cycle.
- Continue to pray range until it's time to flick against the mager, then continue the cycle.
A nice order to practice things:
1 - Practice just flicking the minions in cycle.
2 - Practice flicking the minions in cycle but putting range prayer on for every tick that you don't need mage/melee on.
3 - Practice the 15t long pattern, just praying range for 5 ticks, then doing the above 5t minion flick pattern twice in a row.
4 - Practice getting into cycle using the clips in this video, looking out for (a) the tornado from Kree'arra, and (b) the mager's attack animation starting.
5 - Try and set it up at the same time that I do in the clips.
6 - Practice 1t flicking the prayer orb for the 6 ticks in a row when you can just pray range (this will save you 33% of your prayer).
7 - Practice flicking the minions at the end of the kill without losing prayer points (I don't explain this in the video, but there are other videos out there that do).
Let me know if there's anything I can do better, or if anything needs explaining in more detail and I'll be happy to leave a reply or update the video description.
Sub for more dumb methods in future (maybe).
