Gonna make my first upload of 2020 be this remix of NSMB's castle theme because 1. I like how this remix turned out and 2. this theme's probably my favorite castle theme in the whole mario franchise

NEW 2ND CHANNEL (gameplay clips, other misc. content): youtube.com/channel/UCiW9mUdMRAfwx0XFJOmkWAg
-------
So... yeah, after 8 years of running it I'm ending this channel and moving to 2 other brand new channels I made instead. Now to answer the big question: Why am I doing this? Well...
I've changed the type of content I make so much throughout the years that my channel is in a kind of weird state. I have videos from several years ago that still get views, and occasionally someone comments on it and it feels... kinda weird? I don't really know how to describe it exactly.
On top of that, I think the constant shifting of content (as well as almost a year of inactivity besides 1 video going through the entirety of 2019) pretty much has my channel considered "dead" by the YouTube algorithm. I have 3.37K subs now, but in the entire time I've been making remixes (starting at the end of 2019 and ending now a third of the way through 2022) I only gained a little over 200 subs during that entire time, and how likely a video's actually gonna get seen has been extremely hit-or-miss. I feel like I'd have a much better chance at having my music be heard if I started over from a blank slate.
Don't worry too much about this channel after the move, though. I have no plans to delete any of the videos here, and it will remain up as an archive, with me changing the channel's name to "Izzy's Archive" as a result. The name will be changed when the transfer of music to my new music channel is fully complete.
Speaking of the new music channel, over the coming days, you'll notice more and more music uploads disappear from this channel. The reason for this is actually a good one.
I don't want a bunch of my newer music tracks to be stuck on a dead channel, so I'm reuploading them to the new channel. The nice thing about this is that I now have the opportunity to give some of these music tracks new touch-ups, which is exactly what I did. Some even got some extreme improvements that you'll hear when they get reuploaded, such as the Ice Cap Zone Mega Medley and the Freezeezy Peak remix. Some of these songs have already been reuploaded, so you can go listen to them now.
Anyway, moving on to the 2nd new channel, this one's a bit more interesting than just "music" like the new main channel. The second channel is basically going to host all the miscellaneous stuff I make rather than lumping it all together with my regular music uploads like I did on this channel.
This second channel will not only be the new home for Minecraft Map Reviews (yes, I do want to revive that series again) but also a place that I'll hopefully upload some more diverse stuff to. Uploading general gameplay clips that I record sounds kinda fun, too, so I might do that as well. Any music things I make that wouldn't fit on the main channel would also go here. I actually uploaded some stuff there already to give an idea of what this channel will be like.
Anyway, I think that's about it. Thank you for following this channel and me as a creator, no matter how many years you've been around here. I hope you'll join me as I keep moving forward as a musician. See ya on the new channel.

Last week, I decided to do a funny by massively hyping up the release of a brand new Deltarune remix, setting it as a premiere, trolling everyone by having said premiere actually be a remix of HEY EVERY !, then uploading the *actual* Deltarune remix (A CYBER'S WORLD?) 15 minutes after said premiere.
To my complete bafflement, the HEY EVERY remix started gaining a LOT more attention than the A CYBER'S WORLD one, and at the time of me writing this has nearly 4 times as many views as the latter. I know Spamton's popular and all but I would not have guessed the fucking 6 second joke remix to gain more traction than the actual remix and I find that hilarious as shit.
Anyway, this is a sequel to that HEY EVERY remix I guess. Let's see if history repeats itself and this gains more attention than the Lost Girl remix I'm gonna upload in 15 minutes from now.

I have so many abandoned WIPs of Hill Top Zone remixes that I figured I might as well throw them all into a single video, now that I actually finished one.
I'll also give brief descriptions of each remix here of what I remember about their development.
(Also, for the record: "FLP" just means the project file for the remix)
"Hill Top Zone - KFAD Arrangement" - As you probably could've guessed, this was originally made for SiIvaGunner's King For Another Day tournament back in 2019. I made this cause I didn't think anyone else would actually remix this track for the tournament. Safe to say, I was pretty surprised when I *did* see a hill top arrangement appear in my sub box for the tournament. Anyway, this remix sounds a bit weird so that's why I didn't finish it.
"hill top banjo kazooie remix" - This was the direct result of this tweet: shorturl.at/eyJ13
Why did I choose Hill Top Zone in particular? No idea, guess I just wanted to attempt remixing Hill Top again. This attempt primarily failed cause I had no idea what to do after the intro. Even now I can't really think of how a Banjo Kazooie-styled remix of Hill Top would work.
"hill top new remix" - Pretty sure this one was just me experimenting with different directions I could take a Hill Top remix in. Unfortunately it was just an experiment and I couldn't think of anything I could actually do with it.
"Hill Top Zone Remix" - Out of all of these attempts this one is probably the most solid. With some refining, what's there could probably sound good, I just didn't feel very motivated to continue this one for some reason. Couldn't tell you why cause I'm not entirely sure why, I just didn't feel like it.
"hill top act 1 remix" - I don't know why I specifically named this as an "act 1" remix, but regardless it just turned out to be another failed experiment. I don't even know where I got the lead instrument from or why I decided to use it, cause it's kinda terrible lmao. Whatever, doesn't matter that much anyway.
"Leaf Forest Beta Arrange With Hill Top" - Okay this one isn't in this video cause I didn't think it would fit alongside the others that well seeings as how it isn't a solo hill top remix. It WAS me trying to remix hill top again however so it at least deserves a mention in the description imo. I'm pretty sure I threw Hill Top in here *only* because I was upset the solo KFAD arrangement turned out not great, too bad it didn't fit that well alongside the sa2 trailer theme & ended up getting scrapped anyway.
If you wanna hear it, I have it in my "95 Unreleased Rips/Arrangements" video, here's a link with a timestamp to it: youtu.be/UD0gaKy7ZBc?t=7394.
Also FLP creation date for this one is November 20th, 2019 in case you were curious about that.
Original composer: Masato Nakamura
Note that there are no in-game versions of any of these tracks, however most were made with the YM2612's limitations in mind, so they theoretically *should* work on a Genesis despite being made with GENNY.
Also keep in mind: These are all from 2018-2019, and I have no desire to return to these at any point in the future so please don't comment asking about that.
I thought giving an explanation for each of the tracks would be cool so I grouped it with the timestamp codes for each track. See below:
0:11 - Emerald Hill Past V2: I mostly scrapped this cause it sounded a bit too upbeat & joyful to fit the past. Which is why it later got reworked as...
2:21, 19:46 [Early] - Emerald Hill Good Future V2: Ok I'll be honest I forgot I made this version. I previously thought the "EHZ GF V2" track I made was the "Early Version" one seen later in the video, not sure how I forgot about this later-made version. Anyway, I didn't like how similar Good Future V1 sounded to Emerald Hill Act 2 from Sonic 2 HD, so reworking the past theme to fit a good future instead actually worked out pretty alright in the end, I think.
1:45 - Emerald Hill Bad Future V2: I made this one with the intent of it sounding like some sort of army march. In retrospect, I'm not sure why, don't think it really fits EHZ BF that much.
3:50 - Chemical Plant Past: These remixes are partially why there's so little stuff made for chemical plant lol youtube.com/watch?v=FqZqLMCtlpo
4:07 - Aquatic Ruin Past: I would like to interject these descriptions by saying that these zones not being made with time travel in mind was an absolute hindrance for some of these tracks, and this is one of them. What would ARZ Past even look like when the present already looks like the past version? That's probably the biggest reason why this one's unfinished.
5:02 - Aquatic Ruin Bad Future: I forgot I made this until I found the file when searching my computer for stuff to put in this video.
N/A - Casino Night Past: Never made a track for it, always thought the Simon Wai proto version fit it perfectly.
5:21 - Casino Night Bad Future: One of the earliest tracks I made for this project and it shows.
6:24 - Hill Top Past V2: One of the last tracks I made for this project and it shows.
8:51 - Hill Top Bad Future V2: Don't have much to say about this one.
11:02 - Hill Top Good Future: Another track I forgot I made until I rediscovered it while remix searching. If I were still motivated enough to work on this project I probably would've scrapped it and made a completely different V2.
12:05 - Mystic Cave Past: This one was started very soon after this video came out youtube.com/watch?v=1UTwpnQfC3k this happened after I already lost most of my interest in the project so that's why it's unfinished.
12:24 - Metropolis Past: I mostly did this one cause I thought of some additional stuff I could add to the Simon Wai proto version of it. I remember the whole time I made it I tried my damnest to not copy Nico's hysteria rendition of Metropolis Past. It was difficult but I think it manages to be its own thing kinda well. Just kinda.
14:28, 30:36 [Early] - Metropolis Bad Future: it's pretty ear grating
ok i already ran out of things to say for this one onto the next
16:14 - Death Egg Bad Future: I REALLY wanted this to be an option for the Metal Sonic boss music, so I remixed it entirely with that purpose in mind.
18:01 - Emerald Hill Good Future V0.1: Okay I know I said for some of the previous versions that I forgot I made them but I literally have 0 memory of ever making this particular one. Maybe cause it's not good, maybe cause looking at the file creation date it's one of the first remixes I made for the project.
18:53 - Emerald Hill Bad Future V1 [Later Version]: Fun fact this one *almost* made it into the 2018 demo but I last minute decided to go with an older version cause I didn't like how this version sounded. I actually think an in-game version is even still in the sound test somewhere so that's a thing.
21:19 - Hill Top Past V0.1: It's not very good ok lets move on
22:03 [Early], 28:34 - Hill Top Past V1: Why did I struggle so much with remixing this particular track? There's like 5 different versions of it I don't understand.
24:13 - Hill Top Bad Future V1: Scrapped it cause it was too grating on the ears. Again.
26:28 - Metropolis Past [CD-Quality]: As you could probably tell this didn't get very far.

I originally made this for a college final and decided to upload it here cause I thought that'd be cool. I'm not sure how often these'll come out in the future compared to the remix uploads, but whenever I DO finish one I'll be sure to actually upload it here instead of having it sit on my hard drive.
Original composer: me
Artwork: also me
Anyway, on an unrelated note, this remix almost ended up in the scrap bin.
I started it in July 2020, about 2 days before the final upload of VvvvvaVvvvvvr. It was originally intended to be a tribute, albeit one that I thought of a bit too late.
I didn't finish it in time, and after that I scrapped it cause I didn't feel like working on it anymore. Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago, I remembered I had it, and thought it would be a fitting first upload for my channel in 2021. So I finished it and here we are now.
I should mention, this was originally remixed in the key of E minor instead of its original A minor cause I thought it'd fit better with Vavr's death. Since that moment passed, the original context didn't really fit in with the new scenario (that being my first 2021 upload), so I raised it back to A minor. If you want to hear the original E minor version, here's a link to do so: my.namejeff.com/NGbmT4XG.mp3
Original composer: Magnus Pålsson
about a week ago, nicocw undeaded himself and released a pretty cool ep of sonic remixes, and with that he made a new discord server alongside said ep release. i joined it, along with a bunch of other people, and after a few days, nico uploaded a really rough version of what he had for the winter version of MHZ2, with tahwlis uploading an unfinished wip of his own concept of it soon after that.
i really liked how his concept sounded, so i decided to transcribe it and finish it myself. this took about 2 days to make, not too bad all things considered, really glad with how it came out
and to answer any questions about me possibly making a fall and/or spring version of this song: maybe? of the 3 remaining seasons, winter was absolutely the easiest one to make cause there's already a pretty well-established "style" that winter/snowy tracks typically follow. the same can't entirely be said for fall & spring-sounding songs. i may try to make a fall or spring variation of the track at some point in the future, but if i do try to tackle it it probably won't happen for quite a while.
UPDATE: i have no plans to make a fall or spring version ever.
UPDATE 2: you have all been trolled by this previous update by my contributions to fall

anyway here's a remix of toxic caves, probably the sonic spinball song people know best (besides the options music) though the machine is an underrated banger im saying this so youll search it up and see that im correct in it being a banger
Izzemixes is a remix album compiling all the remixes I've made from 2019 to 2020! It includes every remix I uploaded to my channel, submitted for SiIvaGunner's King For Another Day Tournament, and a special track I haven't uploaded anywhere else. I hope you'll enjoy what's here!
For some reason I made this months ago but never actually uploaded it. So here it is now. Don't have much else to say about it, lol

thanks for sticking around despite my nonexistent upload schedule
Made this specifically for use in a new project (the same one mentioned in the Sonic 2 boss remix video), said project's gonna be unveiled soon. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have made this if it wasn't for a project lmao, ghz is so incredibly overused both in terms of getting remixed and in terms of the actual zone itself
Anyway, since I'm sure some of you are wondering, yes, this would play completely fine in-game. I made this from scratch with Open Note Block Studio, and damn this software's surprisingly fun to use. I'll post the link to it if anyone wants to check it out opennbs.org

I'd say this soundtrack gets too much flack compared to the JP one, but I can kinda understand where the complaints come from; most of the good future tracks are kinda meh and the mood choices for some of the tracks come off as a bit strange (collision chaos, game over, etc.), but I absolutely think the US soundtrack nails the bad futures, and some of the present themes as well (I vastly prefer US wacky workbench to JP wacky workbench, for example). Anyway, I liked this track, I remixed it, yeah

Feel free to check out the channel description. It seems today, that 2 years ago Sonk took over my channel and started that whole thing of his. I don't know exactly how to feel about that but regardless, I noticed this file was on my desktop and thought it'd be fitting to upload it today. Hope you enjoy it.
