I'm sorry, but this is hands down the worst fight in the game for me.For 2 very good reasons: A god awful arena (The worst I've ever seen in Soulsborne I might add), and only a hair's width of space to fucking do anything.Fuck this area. Just like the planet itselfIt doesn't feel complete to name it as the apex of swarm bots and call it a day.
So this is where it began GBA 049 2025-07-24 | The perfect thumbnailMust've been quite the timeless experience back then to pledge oneself to almighty Xanthous Bathrobe against their will and become the boss. Very pleasing that the concept has been revived back to form, even though that I'm not a fan of it personally due to the lag switching; and the half HP reduction easily makes this one the worst of the two. Along with "that other mechanic" that I genuinely despise so much. But whoever built that dreaded staircase clearly fell head first on the floor when they got out of bed in the morning and didn't even bother to take an aspirin afterward because they were that angry for some reason.Second half of Tower of Latria was a gigantic breath of fresh air. More open space, fantastic atmosphere, and Bloodborne-esque visual storytelling. I hated how it took so long to get to that point, though, but I'll take what I can get.First two attempts was me just screwing around
Monster Hunter Frontier Z Zenith: Abiorugu Duo Solo (HR5) - Gunlance GBA 049 2025-07-23 | Alright. Setting this direct, I'm not one to adhere in front of the boastful domain for this dastardly commitment I consciously chose to chase after in solitude like a lunatic, but if I could set aside the pale modesty and add JUST a drop of complacency here for a moment, (lip smack) yeah I kicked serious ass here. HahaI mentioned it several times previously before on this channel, but in case anyone has still been down under hiding away from the scent of an independent authentic gourmet restaurant above them, Abiorugu is a HIGHLY praised favorite Frontier monster of mine. Shredding the blatant predacious edgetable traits into obscurity because none of those qualities matters worth of a damn here, this monster is meticulously simple down to it's very soul and it surprises me on how ridiculously incomparable his entire credentials are for a monster belonging in a game like this. When it comes down to being basic, no other monster matches nor owns that criteria in Frontier more than how Abiorugu weaponizes it like an elite soldier on the battlefield. The details and qualities are so wonderfully genuine to the extent that it completes him as a monster without needing any fancy identity as one like the others have. In my eyes, Abiorugu is the monster equivalent, a direct contrast to the hunter themselves. Seeing him start off as an ordinary Deviljho clone may seem generic at first glance, but when given time, Abiorugu strengthens in quality and combat the same way the hunter does as they progress. Likewise, when you improve as a hunter, Abiorugu improves as a monster. DRASTICALLY. Even his default battle music from low rank raises the power meter to terrifying effects in high rank. Just that very idea alone of composing rank exclusive music for one single monster is enough evidence to confirm that Abiorugu is his very own creature that wears "basic" like a set of armor haughtily. Design wise, the conceptual inspiration for a Stegosaurus is right off the bat absolute perfection to ever grace the franchise. In combat however is it's own unique beast. Goushu rank is the event where things take a dead serious turn for difficulty and it's no surprise that Abiorugu follows suit with that approach just like the rest lying in wait to pulverize your ass with reckless abandon. Apart from the demoralizingly devastating death combo that invites a new fear straight onto the table, what interests me the most about Abiorugu is his behavior as a monster. To reiterate, there is no secret ingredient. He breathes fire, causes tremors, throws rocks/spikes, attacks with his tail, (which heavily inspired Glavenus) doesn't pin, has no element, but instead balances everything on raw ferocious power. Additionally, Abiorugu's power scaling is so insane, that even the game itself loses stability from his sheer might presented on screen. The effects of the ground shaking heavily when he runs after you or landing from a jump and the screen exploding pure white from his roar is visually intimidating and it works so fucking well in the essence of feeling so prehistoric. He's my favorite brute wyvern in the entire series for authenticity alone. Giaorugu may be a fused hybrid of others akin to Mi Ru sharing the same idea for pseudo flying wyverns, but Abiorugu just has more charm and classic value to me. He would be PERFECT for the main series. There's no excuse for him NOT to be invited.

Monster Hunter Frontier Z Zenith: Kamu & Nono Orugaron Solo (HR5) - Long Sword GBA 049 2025-07-21 | I put a little too much dedication on trying to attain this faith melting achievement admittedly more than what was once normal. Naturally due in part to me cogitating with the quite frankly idiotic impulse for ego boosting (which I never prioritize with anything fyi) since I'm a veteran and all; None that I particularly like to hold on a pedestal, though. Emphasis on normal, however. Since that minute desire for personal victory and what have you slowly devolved into the "Why the Hell am I doing this?" phase. My only answer is this: I wanted to see if it was possible, and my last attempt on stream had me sweating vengeance. No prestigious qualifications are deserved for this Yin Yang wolf pack. As this.... KEY.... QUEST... completely eradicates every value they have.Do I even NEED to explain how stupidly hard this is in depth for anyone who has a solo hunting preference? No. I don't. The vintage summary here is memorizing monster behavior and putting a ring on luck's finger in hopes that the relationship will last long enough before you wake up at the pearly gates caused by their RANDOM UNAVOIDABLE BULLSHIT THAT SCREWED YOU OVER. Need I proceed? Or have I made my point? Fuck this quest. And it for being mandatory.

Almost dropped my guard there GBA 049 2025-07-12 | It's always a welcoming tradition for a new player being encouraged to hone their skills and tussle up against a brand new big juicy target only to be promptly desecrated by the sudden 2nd healthbar outbreak. Before the Bell Gargoyles, there was the Maneaters. Solid introduction to duo bosses for this genre and despite the rather irritating tendency of gravity via pushed off the decaying bridge prolonging their time to get back in gear and continue fighting, (then again that's actually a useful tactic when both are on screen) I much prefer them over the Gargoyles for it's theming alone, and it's simply a lot more engaging. That and incredibly hectic since launching you off the bridge is their top priority. Had a few close calls here and there.No way in Hell did I forge the Meatcleaver on my own without a guide.Objectively the worst upgrade system in the series

Like polyps pressed onto a solid surface, the corruption ravaged. Multiplying exponentially with every insidious step it took. Choking and desecrating ecosystems through rapid overpopulation. What a complete waste of design..... GBA 049 2025-06-10 | I'd like to understand why. Genuinely WHY. On God's green Earth. Was the most fucking outstanding dragon design in the SERIES given the absolute worst treatment for a boss concept a human being could ever possibly think of; let alone from a functioning oneTWICE. OVER.????This delivers "painful experience" in all the wrong contexts that shouldn't even deserve to exist. I have no problem with a majority of these bosses focusing more on gimmicks to fight them. Honestly I welcome it in here as a unique change of pace. But this is just completely fucking unacceptable and a mortal sin to all other dragon bosses that makes Ancient Wyvern look awesome by comparison. And that's saying something.The only thing I'll give credit to Dragon God is that the gimmick on stealth felt pretty cinematic and intimidated me a bit while trying to remain hidden. Plus the music is great. But it is still revoltingly repugnant that this devilish emblem of Hellfire's all time greatest spawns went from a giant, amazing, intimidating monster from marketing to a big wet fart of an encounter and ultimately perceived as nothing more than a HUGE letdown as a Soulsborne dragon. It is an absolute disgrace. Period.Writing more of this is just giving me more pain. And not in the difficulty kind as it should. Though despite this third degree burn of an insult to dragon premise afflicting this genre, Stonefang Tunnel is still the best area in the game.

One HELL of a demon GBA 049 2025-05-23 | Hidden away deep below the mines of Stonefang Tunnel lies the gatekeeper of Hell itself. Extinguishing any souls unfortunate enough to witness it's inescapable wrath early on. But I came prepared, and I loved every second of it's seething anger. What a kickass way to bring the heat.Though FINDING Flamelurker is... kind of irritating. But to me it's very much worth the effort.So far, Stonefang Tunnel is turning out to be the best area for me. Everything is well put together (minus the maze of course) and the bosses are great. Please keep it up, I'm begging you

What a deceptively foul name.Absolutely abhorrent tower structure that gives me a fucking migraine for being so unnecessarily mazelike and repetitive that crosses through the boundary of borderline tedium. All the while hugging the damn wall like it's your lost child. Atmosphere's fantastic though, I won't complain there.Fool's Idol is certainly a unique concept who's fight gave me a good laugh more than anything, honestly. And the fact that you need to kill an NPC outside the fog wall to prevent her from being revived and refought is a characteristic that I find to be pretty admiring for a soulsborne boss. Especially when you can exit out of the fog wall in order to do it. Now that is something else to be sure
