As soon as I learned of a steam tour passing through my local area, I jumped at the chance to see it, so my morning was partly spent standing at East Croydon waiting for Eddystone, a loco I’ve wanted to see for nearly 20 years, passing through on the “Sussex Belle” to Eastbourne and Hastings.
As I had time to kill in the evening, when I’d finished my business in Croydon, I jaunted over to Shortlands to watch Eddystone returning to London.
Another interesting catch was Class 465 No. 465908 “Chris Green MBE” in its eye-catching NSE livery.
