Part of a series of animation I made with Quade Paul as part of a fivth.com project in 1999-2000.
I spent a full week keyframing all of the components that Quade and i built rigged and textured in modular animations to allow this comprehensive animation to run as a perpetual loop in the hope that a student heading into an exam on DNA replication could stare at it for ~5 minutes to comprehend all of the basic tenants in one summarizing video.
After a frustrating experience using Stata Studio Pro on a similar sized project a year before, we had switched to Cinema 4D. This work is all very dated in style and science. It was a real learning project in animation and the biology. Just posting it for a bit of history from my first years out of grad school working at the Salk Institute.
