Sculptra Aesthetic is a bio-stimulatory filler which means that it works by stimulating your body to produce more of its own collagen. It is, in my opinion, the ideal facial re-volumizer. We all lose collagen as we age, approximately 1% per year after the age of 20. Unlike other fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm, Sculptra helps to address this age-related collagen loss by stimulating natural collagen production. And since it is your own collagen, the results can last up to 2 years or longer although regular maintenance is still recommended. In this video, I treat the temples, cheeks, jawline, and buccal area using Sculptra. Dysport on the other hand is a neuromodulator like Botox, Xeomin and Jeuveau. It works by relaxing muscles and and reducing associated visible signs of aging. It's a pretty easy process. First, your own blood in drawn into tubes. The tubes are then placed in a centrifuge to separate red blood cells and white blood cells from the platelets and plasma. The platelet rich plasma is then taken and injected into the scalp. The treatment is comfortable since topical anesthetic or ProNOX is often used to minimize discomfort. Dr. Patel recommends one treatment session a month for 4 months followed by a maintenance treatment session every 6-9 months. Dr. Shaun Patel often treats the chin when rejuvenating the face. The FDA recently approved Restylane Defyne for the treatment of a recessed chin. For example, patients with enlarged masseter muscles appear to have a "bottom heavy" face. Reducing the size of the muscle can slim the lower face and improve mid to lower face proportions. How many units of Dysport do these treatments require? What dose of Dysport is required for treatment of upper face lines or for treatment of enlarged masseters?Dr. Patel typically uses 120-150 units of Dysport when treating upper face lines. He uses 120-180 units of Dysport when treating enlarged masseter muscles. The bunny lines are treated with 10-20 units of Dysport and the gummy smile is also treated with 10-20 units of Dispirit.How much does this treatment cost?
