Disney Store Times Square Grand Opening Ceremony- November 9, 2010 Ryan Mead 2010-11-12 | Disney returned to New York City on November 9, 2010 as a parade of Disney characters joined Robin Roberts in opening the new Disney Store in Times Square. I apologize in advance for the visuals- from my vantage point, I was unable to see the speakers, which included Disney CEO Robert Iger and Mayor Michael Bloomberg (although I- and you- can hear them), but I WAS able to see most, if not all, of the Disney characters- Cinderella, Belle, Princess Tiana, Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Phineas and Ferb, The Green Army Men from "Toy Story," Lightning McQueen, Buzz Lightyear, and, of course, Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Note that TInker Bell showed up on the billboard outside the store to wave her magic wand AFTER the fireworks went off- even pixie dust is susceptible to a technical hiccup every now and then!

Let Us Talk Shop or The Ship Hits The Fan Ryan Mead 2010-11-21 | Two black-and-white people discuss the finer points of Phineas and Ferb. It gets ugly. Sort of."DIRECTOR'S" NOTES:I never really was a "fan" of something as far as delving into the fan community online until I got into Phineas and Ferb earlier this year. After seeing the very funny films Dan Schneider made on xtranormal poking fun at fans of his shows, I felt like doing one poking fun at what I see as the...odder (and sadly, more outspoken) fans of the series. I put it off for a while, and I'm actually glad I did, since with yesterday's iCarly and the reaction in the fanbase to it, which in itself was very much in vein with what I think about Phineas and Ferb, I had more fodder to work with. Mr. Schneider helps out again!I am both amazed at how well text-to-speech works when it does and how poorly it doesn't work when it doesn't. Spelling out "xtranormal" in particular amused me so much I left it in. Also, as an amateur writer who's been complimented at times for my wit on my Twitter feed (*cough*@rwmead*cough), I must say I find the line "Dan Schneider murdered my puppies, the puppies of my heart" particularly amusing spoken aloud, perhaps even funnier than when I wrote it. (I should also point out, since I don't really in the film itself, that I do NOT think Doofenshmirtz and Perry are madly in love with each other- if anything, the fact that the relationship is ambigously hinted to as if it was indeed a romantic one adds to the humor and also plays on the basic good guy-bad guy relationship. If anything, it's Stockholm Syndrome. For comedy!) Lastly: the reason why the female sounds like a little girl?
