Far From Home [Shuffle Wars R2] | FF7 Remake Spoilers WeHappyFew 2020-06-18 | WATCH IN HDFF7 REMAKE SPOILERS!!!!uff this was a beast to edit!! I'm so glad I made it in time though hahaThemes used for this round:Courage: Portrayed through Cloud's and also Tifa's actions, especially in FF7 Advent Children. Both went through incredible hardship and had to prove time and time again that there are ready to fight Sephiroth and the darkness and chaos he wishes to bring upon the world. I also interpreted courage for them not only in terms of winning the "war" against Sephiroth, but also in terms of their personal (in my portrayal romantic) relationship. I think much of the intimate emotions they share throughout the series scares them, and although they continuously support and look out for each other there is much hesitance when it comes to deepening that bond. I wanted to portray the courage that comes with letting the past be, overcoming one's own trauma and taking a step towards a more intimate and romantic relationship as well. Death: Portrayed by the deaths of Aerith and Zack especially, I tried to show the guilt that comes with not being able to safe someone, and having to live with the consequences of watching your loved ones die. Additionally some flashbacks/imagined realities in Clouds mind involve the death of those that survived, i.e. Denzel or Tifa. Love/Hate Relationship: This is a tricky theme that I tried to include a bit more implicitly. I think that Cloud and Sephiroths relationship is largely based on a weird toxic love/hate relationship, more specifically Cloud hero-worshiped Sephiroth when he was still younger, wanting to become like him only to end up hating him as is arch-nemesis so to speak up until the conclusion in FF AC. From Sephiroths perspective I doubt he ever actually hated Cloud, but instead developed this weird obsession with him that marks most of the FF7 series. Especially the quote I included towards the end of the video shows that quite clearly in my opinion, as in the remake sephiroth not only wanted to recruit Cloud's help but also informed him that he has 7 seconds to change the fate of the world, which may just be enough time for him. This is quite a bittersweet and also slightly sadistic message, showing that Sephiroth is somewhat excited by the prospect of having Cloud as his constant enemy, because I truly think that he kind of revels in that. Lost Children [TPC] WeHappyFew 2017-03-30 | WATCH IN HDALL INFO IS AT THE END OF THE VIDEOSheesh, ok this was a tough one. I struggeled for a long time with this round's video and I still don't like the endproduct 100%, there are just some things I could have improved on and overall it doesn't really fit what I had in mind BUT I reached my goal of handing something in, so who cares :DI got the theme: Impossible ChoicesStory (bear with me here this can get complicated): Basically it is set in an AU, where young Cloud (represented by Sora) and young Aerith (represented by Namine) knew each other from Cloud's adventures/travels in the past. I decided to mash up parts of Sora's and Cloud's original storyline, so that technically he ended up in Castle Oblivion, trying to fight the darkness and having to enter deep sleep to regain his powers/memories. During his time of sleep, which took significantly longer than Sora's in the original storyline, a new enemy wanting to lead the world into chaos and darkness took power - Sepiroth. Aerith tried her best to defend Cloud's vulnerable self, but died in the process shortly after Cloud awoke. Having to bury her and blaming himself for what has happened, Cloud clings onto Aerith's last words, claiming that one day she may be able to return. Trying to pick up the pieces, and building himself a new life, Tifa, Denzel and Marlene become his new home and family. However, Cloud still struggles with his burden and cannot let go of his memories which slowly started to consume his mind and heart. Having to face both his current and past feelings for his loved ones, Aerith appear in his dreams, telling him to either choose to embark on a journey to resurrect her or stay with the life he has build for himself here. The last shot shows Cloud looking over his shoulder to find Aerith vanished, I deliberately kept this ambiguous and I think that this ties in nicely with the theme of "Impossible choices". There is no answer to "Which is it? A memory or us?". Let me know if this confused you and you need more clarification :D Also, make sure to tell me what you guys think! I have to admit I would count it as one of the harder ones, but this was competition was made for you to test your skills and improve your editing, so brace yourself!The task of the first round is: ENTRANCE YOUR AUDIENCE BY CREATING AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE.Alternate/Parallel Universe (OED)n. (a) (orig. and chiefly Science Fiction) a universe conceived of as existing alongside or in addition to our own, having many similarities to it but usually differing from it in some significant way; also fig.; (b) (in the many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics) a universe regarded as actually existing alongside our own, albeit with no possibility of detectionmany-worlds n. an interpretation of quantum theory which states that all possible quantum worlds are realized and coexist in parallel with each other.Now what does that mean exactly? I literally edited on this 3 days straight because I had such a massive inspiration! In fact I 've started 2 projects with this song over the last couple of years and one was with TLOU as well but idk I was never really satisfied with the outcome. After finding an awesome channel that does not only upload no sub footage of TLOU but made a movie with personally recored atmospheric in-game footage I freaked out and immediately had to edit! I think it's the first video I dedicated to TLOU aside from MEP/Worms tbh so there's a first :D I really tried to capture the insanse range of emotions this game put me through - from shock to angst, to massive angst and heartaching loss to badass zombie killing and general ass-kicking to one of the best endings for such an emotional and story driven game I have ever seen. First time I'm trying to use more than just quotes from voiceovers - I like the well I suppose atmopsheric editing style most live-action editors here on youtube prefer, so I decided to give it try. Also: typography is a thing for me again. I recently got AE and I'm still not really comfortable with it, so I went back to editing everything in SV, therefore the typography might look a bit weird at some point. I get why people use AE for that kind of stuff but I am not a patient woman, so I had to fake all of AE's super smooth transitions and effects in SV - go me! I can already see so many mistakes but editing this was hell when vegas had 82374298357 error messages so please bear with me.For the GMV Awards Best Emotion 2015:The Emotion I wish to portray here is quite difficult to put into words, as the title suggests it is the feeling of an inevitable dread of possible future events, particularly the tragedy and bittersweet victories that we encounter in most hero quest stories. 'Fearing the fall' in this case is a sense of anguish you feel in the calm before the storm, in most game stories it would be the moment right before you know the end sequence is about to begin. Your choices could go both ways, your selfishness as well as your altruism could lead to the death of your allies and you fear what your actions will bring. I was heavily inspired by the sheer amount of morality portrayed in the games I edited, the characters always sacrifice something for the greater good, greed will lead to despair and ruin, love is often not strong enough to survive a tragedy and revenge will only create more hate. It is a fear of the future that is being intensified in that one moment in which you realise that your actions will shape the future. By getting into Fate/Zero and the new Fate/Stay Night adaption though (also making a video for that atm) I kinda rediscovered my love for animes. SOOO here's a small dedication to Barakamon! Which is btw the cutest and most adorable anime around!
