The reason is profoundly important for the future of space exploration. Besides oxygen, the fundamental requirement for human life is water. It’s not just human life, every living organism in Earth’s biosphere is dependent on water for its survival. The structure and function of biological cells in all life forms require water as a “solvent,” the medium, necessary to support life-providing biochemical reactions.Simple fact: No water…No life. (brucelipton.com/no-water-no-life) The quote from The Rime of the Ancient Mariner expresses the consequence of a situation in which one is surrounded by an abundance of something, but unable to benefit from its presence. This quote is used to draw your attention to a looming planetary problem that will profoundly challenge the fate of human civilization. True, there is water, water everywhere. However, less than 1% of the planet’s surface water is available for the survival of land animals, including humans. Unfortunately, human industry waste (brucelipton.com/think-beyond-your-genes-may-2022) and chemical-based agriculture (fertilizers and pesticides) have contaminated much of that water and made it unclean or unsafe to drink.To compensate for the loss of potable water, human technology (youtube.com/watch?v=1h5SijhqslQ) has tapped into underground reservoirs, aquifers, to supplement civilization’s needs. Super clean groundwater pumped from these aquifers provides nearly 50 percent of the nation's drinking water, and most of the country’s agricultural needs. This is where companies such as Coke and Pepsi have been draining California’s aquifers to send plastic bottles of water around the world. There are several unforeseen consequences of over-pumping: 1) Human extraction of groundwater is removing water from the aquifers at a rate much greater than it can be replenished. Aquifers are fed by rainwater that seeps into the ground. Ground The surface water moves through the soil at a rate of only 10 feet per year. Aquifers are hundreds of feet below ground, consequently, it may take a decade for a storm’s rain to reach an aquifer. Replenishing drained aquifers may take centuries! 2) Empty aquifers near the coastline become filled with undrinkable salty sea water. 3 The empty subterranean caverns created when the water is withdrawn ultimately collapse causing “subsidence,” the sinking of land that profoundly changes life at the overlying surface.) 4) The number of empty, unrecyclable plastic water bottles is precipitating its own environmental disaster. Another disastrous influence impacting our drinking water supply is the process of fracking (brucelipton.com/think-beyond-your-genes-september-2016) , the pumping of surface water into the Earth to release oil and gas reserves. The problem of fracking is that the pumped water is supplemented with toxic chemistry, making the water permanently undrinkable, and its leakage into groundwater aquifers also makes the stored water unfit to drink.Why bring this subject to your attention? Simply, an awareness of a problem is required before we can generate a resolution to that problem. While the public is unaware of the threats to our drinking water supply it is now estimated that unless water use is drastically reduced, severe water shortage will affect the entire planet by 2040. With the intention of the public this crisis can be averted.I always like to make the content of these newsletters uplifting. OK, the topic of losing our drinkable water is not a happy tale. A theory that is commonly reduced to: “Survival of the fittest in the struggle for life.” The struggle aspect is related to the widely accepted notion propagated by Philosopher Thomas Malthus that animal populations reproduce at a rate more than twice as much as plants. Consequence: there will be more animals than food, hence the “struggle” to survive. In today’s world, a Darwinian culture based on competition contributes to violence, war, and the breakdown of civilization.How’s Darwinian theory working out for us? Well, 1% of the population has the wealth (the fittest???) and 99% struggle to survive while supporting the 1% at the top. The planetary chaos we are experiencing is a direct consequence of Darwinian competition in a world facing an evolutionary upheaval.Guess what … Darwinian evolution theory is WRONG! Evolution is NOT based on genetic control and competition as the theory suggests. In fact, the most valid insight into the nature of evolution was predicted in the first scientific theory of evolution, published fifty years before Darwin’s theory, by French scientist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck In describing the mechanism by which evolution occurs, the “how” of the process, Lamarck emphasized a profoundly important observation: plants and animals are designed to fit the environment in which they live. Polar bears are not in Africa and roses are not in the arctic. Lamarck predicted that evolution was based on an interactive “dialogue” between the organism and its environment. Lamarckian theory is driven by a process of adaptation to the environment. In contrast, Darwinian theory is driven by random (accidental) mutations followed by natural selection (Nature selects the fittest of the mutated organisms and eliminates the weakest). Lamarck’s theory emphasizes evolution based on “cooperation,” which is in direct contrast to the Darwinian emphasis on “competition.” Epigenetics provides the scientific foundation for Lamarckian Theory, for it reveals the mechanism by which environmental signals shape gene expression. An epigenetic response to a healthy environment activates genes and behaviors manifesting a health biology. In contrast, an unhealthy environment engages genes and behaviors that generate a life-threatening stress response. Therein lies the problem: Human behavior has destabilized Nature and precipitated a life-threatening collapse of the web of life. In response, epigenetic mechanisms direct the body’s systems to engage protection behaviors to survive the environment’s destabilization. The public’s reaction to today’s environmental stressors has precipitated a global healthcare crisis. Well, thank goodness … here is the GOOD NEWS! The body does not directly respond to the environmental signals derived from the outer world. It is the environment within the body that epigenetically controls the genetics and behavior of the body’s cells and organs. The body’s internal environment is controlled by the mind’s “interpretation” of that outer world environment. This awareness is in perfect agreement with the principles of the most valid of all the sciences, Quantum Physics. This science recognizes “consciousness” as the creator of our reality. Epigenetics is a biologic parallel to quantum physics in that it illuminates the mechanism by which “consciousness” controls genes and behaviors in manifesting our reality. Today’s planetary chaos is a direct consequence of facing a civilization-induced evolutionary upheaval. Threats to survival engage the stress-response, which shuts down the body’s growth and maintenance functions, as well as inhibiting the immune system, to conserve energy for an anticipated life-sustaining fight or flight response. Consequently, the elevated stress chemistry within the body is directly responsible for over 90% of today’s healthcare crisis. It’s all a matter of perception.One of the most important insights to successfully navigate today’s chaos is provided in the Serenity Prayer: God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.The significance of this prayer is in reference to the fact that ENERGY is life and behavior is empowered by using the body’s energy reserves. As the prayer emphasizes, we must not waste life-providing energy on empowering behaviors to change things we cannot change. It is necessary to conserve energy to support behaviors that can directly enhance the wellbeing in our lives. Consciously budgeting the energy reserves in our body is the same as budgeting money in our bank account… both are needed to fund the behaviors that will enhance our health, happiness, and the quality of our lives.In this season of New Year’s resolutions, perhaps it is a good time to enhance the quality of our lives.

It will not be “new” knowledge, it’s a version of knowledge known since the dawn of human civilization. In fact, it is the knowledge that was responsible for the origin of civilization. It’s not worldly knowledge, in fact it’s “other worldly” knowledge. It is the knowledge of “who we really are.” This knowledge reveals that we live in two realms: A physical reality and a spiritual reality. In prehistoric times, the recognition of spirituality was introduced through the ingestion of psychedelic plant medicines. In ancient Greece, these medicinal experiences were instrumental in giving rise to philosophy, science, art and democracy, foundational in shaping modern civilization. The knowledge of our personal connection with divinity provided individuals with a source of “self-empowerment.” Long before Greece existed, women were the source of knowledge and held the secrets of creating psychedelic potions. When Monotheism evolved, the Church eliminated the knowledge of personal spiritual empowerment by eliminating the role of women and psychedelics. The Genesis story specifically blames women and the apple (psychedelics???) of “knowledge” for the downfall of humanity. In recent history, governments have consistently disempowered the public by outlawing psychedelics, while simultaneously pushing pharmaceutical “drugs.” University and Medical School research has revealed that psychedelics offered the most powerful influence in treating alcoholism, drug addiction, and depression, among other neurological disorders. Interestingly, the government outlawed these drugs claiming they had no medicinal value. The recent news that some states have legalized psychedelics is a sign of evolutionary advancement that will profoundly influence the future of civilization. Around the globe, citizens are rallying in a concerted effort to bring an end to the barbaric nature of planetary violence and war in today’s modern world. On the horizon, I see a second opportunity is now arising wherein global civilization is once again coalescing and demanding an end to war.War, violence, and division only perpetuate a cycle of suffering. We must now begin to emphasize that it is not our differences, but our common humanity that must come to the forefront. Through nurturing compassion and empathy, we will come to recognize the notion that the well-being of one is intrinsically linked to the well-being of all. This is the first step towards healing the world.In times of crisis, we come together to support one another, regardless of our backgrounds. This ability to unite must extend beyond moments of crisis to become a way of life. Lipton, Ph.D. 2023-07-31 | http://www.brucelipton.comThe Smartest Person in the Room vs The Happiest Person in the Room AI is technology’s attempt to enhance the performance of the human brain. While science is attempting to compare the processing ability of neurons with silicon chips, it must be pointed out that we do not have a full understanding of the full power of the human brain’s potential. Consider the story of individuals labelled as autistic savants (formerly, “idiot savants”). Savants display amazing processing capabilities found in one or more of five major areas: art, memory, arithmetic, musical abilities, and spatial skills, despite having significant impairment in other areas of intellectual or social functioning. Savants can process information at speeds beyond that of conventional computers. Some autistic savants have super processing capabilities in managing complex mathematical calculations, others have amazing memory capabilities. For example, Stephen Wiltshire, a British architectural artist and autistic savant has a particular talent for drawing lifelike, accurate impressions of cities, skylines and street scenes after having only observed them briefly. Though he is autistic, Stephen was awarded as a member of the Order of the British Empire for services to the art world in 2006.Autistic savants are exceptional individuals regarding their neural processing capabilities. Savant abilities can exist in a variety of areas, but most savants show skills in art (e.g. Stephen’s hyper-detailed drawings), music (proficiency in musical instrument playing without any training), superfast mental arithmetic processing, calendar calculation (e.g., the ability to provide the day of the week for any future or past date), and an outstanding ability of their memory to recall facts, events, and numbers. The emergence of savant skills in autistic adults is not fully understood, and there is a complete lack of empirical evidence to support current theories. Savant skills demonstrate that the human brain has processing abilities that go well beyond current scientific awareness. Logic would guide us to first understand the natural “superpowers” inherent in the human brain before we proceed in augmenting intelligence with silicon chips. In fact, consider this: currently, the technological capabilities of brain cells exceeds that of current computers. Installing an AI chip in the brain is analogous to trying to enhance the power of an Electric Car by installing parts from a Ford Model T. An important problem with AI that is not addressed in discussions, is that the functions and programming of installed chips are controlled by others. This technology, designed to control your neurologic functions, could disempower, and enslave you to the programming algorithms of others … manifesting George Orwell’s vision in his classic book, 1984, the control of your mind by “big brother.” Human civilization is a giant “community.” Members in a community contribute time from their lives to support the community’s needs, in other words, they work. Perhaps you may be familiar with the adage, a truism, “All work and no play make Jack a dull boy.” Collaboration in a community provides its members an opportunity to have a life outside of the job. Time to experience the joys and splendor of life. We become vitalized when we experience the grandeur of Nature, or when we pursue personal happiness through romance, good food, music, literature, and cinema among other recreational pastimes. The question is, “How much health and happiness are you experiencing?” Are you doing better than Phil? Civilization is facing an imminent and irreversible collapse in the next couple of decades (NASA), and the anxiety and stresses of today’s life are responsible for up to 90% of the world’s health crisis. While technocrats offer AI as the answer to enhancing consciousness, on the personal level does that technology provide a better “quality” of life for humans? Perhaps before we submit to installing chips in the brain, we should first invest time in the natural ability of using our nervous system to experience the love, joy and vitality offered in our world. We simply do not need AI to benefit from the experience of peaceful quietness in watching a sunset, or strolling in the woods, or sharing a candlelight dinner with dear friends! While I loved the job, it was the Wisconsin “Siberian-like” winters that really challenged me. In the winter of 1983, I went on a 6-month sabbatical to teach at an off-shore medical school on the island of Montserrat in the idyllic Caribbean. One day while motorcycling home from school, I became a candidate for the Darwin Award, an honor for those who accidentally remove their own DNA from the gene pool during the spectacular climax of a 'great idea' gone very, very wrong).Realizing there was no posted speed limit, I joyfully accelerated to what was an unsafe speed. Ahead, there was a dip in the road and a sharp left turn. At the dip, the bike became airborne. In flight. I tried to tilt the bike to make the left turn even though the wheels were not on the ground. Of course, the bike flew straight through the corner, and I landed on my head in the woods (thankfully, I was wearing a helmet). I regained consciousness a half hour later and was surrounded by a couple of doctors from the med school. They helped me get home and into bed. The next day was the final exam for my course. In full-out pain and doubled-up like Quasimodo, I made it to the school, but my head, and especially my eyes, were focused on the ground because I could not straighten my back. Seeking help from the medical doctors, I received a handful of powerful pain relievers. While the pills reduced the pain, there was nothing the docs could do to help with my twisted posture.One of the students told me about a chiropractor who was now a med student. In the world of allopathic medicine, I was programmed to believe that chiropractic was a fraudulent pseudoscience. With no resolution from conventional medicine, I visited that student. It was amazing! I hobbled into his room and right after the adjustment I walked out pain-free in perfect posture.The point of this story: Conventional medicine primarily deals with relieving patient’s symptoms, but not necessarily impacting the cause of the problem. Patients show up in a state of “dis-ease” and the role of the practitioner is to return them to “ease.” Alleviating a symptom does not imply healing the cause. Many times, a symptom, such as fever, pain, swelling, are part of the healing process that should not be interfered with. For example, a fever is generally the result of an infection that is temperature sensitive. The body’s response is to raise the temperature to kill the infection. For example, a 104oF (40oC) is a healing response and should be encouraged, not reduced. Wrap yourself in a blanket and “sweat” it out. After a short time at that temperature, the infective agent will be eliminated, and the fever will immediately be gone. It should be noted that sometimes an exaggerated symptom can cause a secondary problem. Temperatures below a 105oF are safe, however, temperatures above that are a problem that should be dealt with.Similarly, a swelling, such as the result of twisting your ankle or knee is a necessary part of the healing phase. The extra fluid causing the swelling is required to “wash-away” damaged tissues and bring-in immune cells to aid in healing. In most cases, reducing the swelling profoundly interferes with healing phase. Although in a few situations, such as in the case of very high fevers, swelling can interfere with vital functions. For example, extreme swelling of tonsils in the throat can compromise breathing and must be dealt with.This month’s video regarding cancer is another important example of treating the symptom rather than dealing with the cause. Cancer cells are the symptom of a problem and not the cause. There are NO genes that “cause” cancer, 90% or more of cancer is the result of environmental stressors and/or issues of consciousness. Using chemotherapy and radiation can kill cancer cells but in no way does it impact the cause of the cancer. And as in cases mentioned above, if a cancer physically interferes with health by swelling and occluding blood vessels, nerves, or conduits (e.g., digestive, respiratory, and urogenital ducts), surgical intervention may be necessary.The important conclusion is that in a state of physical discomfort, medical intervention should not be focused on eliminating the symptoms but should be directed at eliminating the primary cause. Within range, pain, fever, swelling and general discomfort, are important contributions to the healing phase and should not be compromised.With wishes for your health and happiness,Bruce

I am writing this letter on behalf of Uncle Bruce, or as I like to call him, Uncle Dr. Bruce Lipton. Uncle Bruce is lecturing in Europe about the Biology of Belief, Spontaneous Evolution, the Honeymoon Effect, and the amazing shift in consciousness that is happening on planet Earth. He asked me to write this newsletter because he is quite busy this month and I am very honored and blessed to have the privilege and capacity to share this message with you. As we know, there is an evolution in consciousness occurring for humanity right now, and it is up to all of us to participate in this experience. As Bruce often points out, this evolution is a participatory event and that we must remember how important our role is in creating a world that is more harmonious than the one that currently exists. Everything happens for a reason and all of the crises we see in this world are indeed part of the evolution that we need. I personally want to thank everyone in this community. By being here you are acting as the driving force for evolution and your presence is extremely valued in this amazing event that is happening on earth today. There is an opportunity during this crisis to change the way we perceive the world, and therefore change the world itself. More often than not people will ask questions like, “How can I change the world, and how can I become a better activist in creating more harmony?”This may seem like a daunting task when we see the world as separate from ourselves, or something bigger than ourselves, the reality is that the world is much smaller than we think it is. Thanks to our understanding brought to us from fractal geometry, there is a fantastic saying known as “As Above, So Below.” I also like to think of this as, “As within, as without”. The point is that when we change the way we perceive the world (our beliefs) the world will change automatically due to the law of resonance, and through quantum physics…this is the nature of conscious manifestation. If you are thinking that maybe the world is not changing the way you want it to, or as fast as you want it to, just relax and remember that everything happens for a reason. We are all here to experience life and share in its mystery together. No one person has the whole picture on their own, which is why we need to embrace each other…every single one of us needs to embrace “the whole” in order to experience peace. As much as we are in the midst of this evolution and there is a growing need for harmony to come to humanity, there is also a sense amongst many that there is a “battle” between those in the light versus those in the dark right now.In a lot of ways this may be true, but the third option that I prefer is the option of love.Even though there may be a perception in our minds of light versus dark themes going on, there really is no such thing as darkness. Darkness is just the absence of light. When we come from a place of love in our hearts we no longer have to see separation and conflict, but rather we can perceive and experience wholeness and unity. The idea is to trust in the process, focus on the goal, and try not to get caught up in the details of how to get there. Let us imagine the world we seek as if we already have it!This saying sings true… “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. Remember we are all one and every moment of happiness and peace you personally experience, every time you change your own life, it only increases the power in the field for collective changes on bigger levels. Lipton, Ph.D. 2022-08-26 | http://www.brucelipton.comFrom as far back as history records, a woman birthing a child was supported in the process by a coterie of other women, including a midwife, supportive doulas, and close family. Birth was a natural process that generally occurred at home or in a women-run birthing center.The conventional medical perception is that birth is a “dangerous” process, in which both the mother’s and child’s lives are at risk. The fact is that only ~3% of births are associated with pregnancy complications, most common of which are breech babies. In normal deliveries the baby’s head comes out first, in a breech situation, the baby is turned around and is delivered with the baby’s buttocks, feet, or both are positioned to come out first. About 2/3 of breech births can be safely handled by a midwife. However, a small number of such births absolutely require medical attention. The question now, is why are so many uncomplicated, normal births in a hospital?The main shift to birthing in hospitals occurred between 1910 and 1920, when the US medical school curriculum began to define birth as a “pathology-oriented medical model” … this set the stage for doctors to take over the traditional role of the midwives.The 1910 Flexner Report unified the field of healthcare by creating a standardized medical curriculum that was to be adopted by all medical schools. The report concluded that America’s first obstetricians were poorly trained and recommended hospitalization for all deliveries. This move specifically led to the gradual abolition of midwifery in the States.In 1914, “twilight sleep” was introduced in the birthing practice with a combination of pain-relieving morphine and scopolamine, an amnesiac that caused women to have no memories of giving birth. At the time, upper-class women initially welcomed twilight sleep as an expression of medical progress.Perhaps the most important shift to hospital births occurred in 1915 with the work of Dr. Joseph DeLee, author of the most important obstetric textbook of that time. DeLee defined childbirth as a “pathologic process that damages both mothers and babies, often and much.” He emphasized that birth was properly viewed as a destructive pathology rather than as a normal function. His article in the first issue of the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, proposed a sequence of interventions designed to save women from the “evils natural to labor.” These interventions included routine use of sedatives, ether, episiotomies, and forceps, all of which are now found to be harmful when routinely used.DeLee changed the medical focus of birthing from responding to problems to preventing potential problems through routine use of interventions during labor. Consequently, medical interventions were no longer just for the relatively small number of women with diagnosed problems, but instead, these interventions are used for every woman in labor. How’s this working out?Both the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and the British Medical Journal (BMJ) recognize that medical practice in the United States is the 3rd leading cause of death via iatrogenic illness (illness caused by medical examination or treatment). With all our vastly expensive medical expertise, the U.S. is the only industrialized nation in the world where maternal mortality is rising, and currently has nearly the highest maternal mortality rate among high-income countries. A significant contributor to these statistics is the rising number of Cesarean sections, a major surgery that is over prescribed, and quite frequently not even necessary.An even more dismal statistic is that the U.S. has nearly the highest infant mortality rate among high-income countries. The United States ranks No. 33 out of 37 in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), a unique forum comprised of the governments of 37 democracies.Not wanting to “throw the baby out with the bath water,” I should emphasize that doctors do play a significant and vital role in in many pregnancy complications and should be available in the rare cases where such complications arise. But for most births, medical interventions are not needed, and when employed may be more of a problem than a benefit.Lastly, birthing in hospitals was also promoted for a generally unmentioned reason: Before births were in hospitals, they were “dark” places filled with the sick and dying. However, when births became part of the hospital’s practice, the energy and vitality of birth changed the perception of the hospital as a welcoming place representing “life.”As a biologist, I must conclude that when it comes to birth, this is a life function wherein women should be primarily engaged to support and empower women. Most importantly, the supportive role of the father or partner in the process is now recognized to be profoundly important in assuring a healthy, happy experience for all involved!

This is the belief that genes “control” our biological traits, including our anatomy, our behavioral and our emotional traits.” Simply, our lives are “programmed” in the DNA (genes) we acquired from our parents at conception.As far as we know, we did not choose our genes; we cannot change our genes if we don’t like their traits; and on top of that, we are taught that genes turn on-and-off by themselves. For example, when people say that a cancer gene (oncogene) turns “on,” they are emphasizing the idea that genes make decisions that control our fate. Genetic determinism states that genes “control” our lives and we cannot in turn “control” our genes … we are powerless victims of our heredity. This leads to the notion that cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc., “runs” in families because of inherited genes. With this belief, Nature, not Nurture, controls our life experiences.While that was the conventional story in the classroom, my research on stem cells in 1967 revealed an alternative reality. The clonal cell culture studies showed that genetically identical cells grown in chemically different culture media (their “environment”) expressed different developmental fates. The research emphasized that Environment controls genes!!! Twenty-three years later, science officially recognized this new awareness as the revolutionary new scientific field of Epigenetics. Epigenetic science emphasizes the role of “Nurture” over Nature.“A human body is a “skin-covered” culture dish, containing about 50 trillion cells growing in the original culture medium, our blood. Relevance: It does not make a difference if a cell is grown in a plastic culture dish or a skin covered culture dish, genetic activity and behavior are controlled by the chemistry of the laboratory’s culture medium or the body’s blood.Aha! The final insight is that blood chemistry is controlled by the brain serving as an information processor that translates images from the mind into complementary, gene-regulating chemistry in the blood. Hormones, neuropeptides, growth factors and molecules of emotion represent blood-borne factors that control genes and behavior.Big conclusion. The upside is that Epigenetics reveals that we are not victims but are actually masters of our genetics. The downside for most of the world’s population is that they are still victims, not of their genome, but of the programs in their mind. The creative (self) conscious mind provides for our wishes, desires, and aspirations, while the subconscious mind is a “hard-drive” engaging behavioral programs derived from instincts, life experiences and knowledge provided by parents, teachers, and spiritual leaders.A fundamental principle of quantum physics is that consciousness creates the character of our lives. How’s that working out for you ? … are you manifesting Heaven-on-Earth ? Very few are. The reason is that programs in the subconscious mind control our behavior around 95% of the day , acting as an “autopilot” when the creative conscious mind is engaged in thought. Problems arise because greater than 50% of subconscious behavioral programs represent disempowering, self-sabotaging, and limiting beliefs, which obviously, when engaged, undermine our wishes and desires.The science described in Spontaneous Evolution illuminated the fact the human evolution is predicated on all people recognizing they are the equivalent of “cells” collectively forming the body of a super-organism, Humanity. Physics is the science that defines the mechanisms of how the Universe works. A fundamental principle in Newton’s version of physics is that the Universe is divided into two realms: Matter and Energy. While physical matter can affect matter, and invisible energy can affect energy, there are virtually no interactions wherein the energy and matter realms can affect one another. The difference between the two realms was so distinct that the study of physical matter was specifically identified as “physics,” a field of science, while studies on the invisible energy forces were deemed “metaphysics” and relegated to religious and spiritual “science.”The character and behavior of the material universe was thought to be an expression of the mechanical interaction of physical particles, the atoms and molecules. From this perspective, the structure, functions and behaviors of the matter-based human was attributed to interaction of the body’s fundamental molecular building-blocks, specifically the large macromolecules defined as proteins. In fact, the term protein, derived from “pro” (primary) and “tein” (part), represent the body’s primary parts. A human body is comprised of over 100,000 different protein “primary parts.” Protein molecules are functionally analogous to gears that engage and turn one another to create behavior.In 1927, the emergence of quantum physics rewrote the science of classical physics by revealing that the Universe consisted of only one realm … Energy. The appearance of “matter” is an illusion resulting from photons of light engaging with, and being reflected by, energy fields. A Founding Father of quantum physics, Max Planck, acknowledged in 1927, “The mind is the matrix of all matter.” Simply, the “mind” is the creator of matter. That insight is still a fundamental tenet of quantum physics. In fact, in a recent issue of Nature, the most prestigious of scientific journal, an article by physicist R. C. Henry concludes: “The Universe is immaterial - it is mental and spiritual. Live and enjoy.”Cutting to the chase, and hoping to save a few thousand words, we quote Albert Einstein, “The field (energy) is the sole governing agency of matter.” While conventional medicine and classical physicists focus on the material realm in understanding disease, quantum physics emphasizes the role of mind, an energy field, in shaping our biology. This conclusion is supported by the new science of epigenetics, which emphasizes how environment and consciousness shape genetics and behavior. Add to this fact, that current biology recognizes that only 1% of disease is connected to genes, while over 90% of disease is due to stress, a consequence of mental activity.In one sense, the body is a mechanical vehicle, and as such is operated by a “driver.” Vehicles in the hands of a “good” driver have a long, functional life, while the vehicles of “bad” drivers are in frequent need of repairs, or even replacement. The health of a body is determined by the character of the driver, the mind. A “stressed-out” mind, the expression of a “bad” driver, is responsible for creating up to 90% disease by mismanaging the body’s systems. I use the terms “good” and “bad” here not as a judgment of right or wrong, only to illuminate the importance of the quality of awareness when “driving.”This conclusion is important because it reveals we have inappropriately emphasized disease as a breakdown of the body’s mechanics and sought the help of pharmaceuticals to resolve the problem. How’s that working? Conventional pharmaceutical drugs are responsible for over 300,000 iatrogenic deaths per year in the U.S. alone! We don’t need more drugs, what we need is “driver education.”Current science now recognizes the role of consciousness as the primary etiology creating illness. This insight is apparent in understanding the mechanics of the placebo and nocebo effects. From 1/3 to 2/3 of all “medical” healing is attributed to the positive thoughts driving the placebo effect and not to the drugs or surgeries used in treating disease. More important, is the awareness of the nocebo effect, wherein negative thoughts alone can create any disease, and even cause one to die.The planet’s prevailing healthcare crisis will wane once we forgo the expenses of the pharmaceutical approach and emphasize healing disease via the power of the mind. Just imagine the impact on humanity when the trillions of dollars in current drug sales could be redirected to support the vitality of society and the enhancement of Nature. A pharmaceutical-free world will have more playtime and more playgrounds, symptoms of a healthy society.

Since these resolutions are the key to our desired futures, it is profoundly important to understand why they fail. The cause of the problem is not a secret. Since 2005, The Biology of Belief has illuminated the mechanism as to why our efforts to change our lives is a struggle.The mind that controls life experiences is comprised of two interdependent elements: (1) The creative Conscious Mind, the source of our wishes and desires; (2) The Subconscious Mind, the source of our behavioral habits. New Year resolutions are wishes, and as such are derived from the creative imagination of the Conscious Mind. Unfortunately, the Conscious Mind only controls the character of our lives 5% of the time, with 95% of our behavior derived from the programs in our Subconscious Mind.While New Year’s resolutions are derived from Conscious Mind imagination processes, to realize those resolutions it is necessary to reprogram the Subconscious Mind’s habitual behaviors, programs that operate 95% of the day. The most important point is Conscious Mind intentions DO NOT automatically translate into Subconscious habits.To manifest New Year resolutions requires a two-step process. First, a resolution must be visualized, the function of the Conscious Mind. Second, to activate the behaviors of a resolution, it is then necessary to download supportive behavioral programs into the Subconscious Mind, the source that actually controls the character of our lives. For only then will the behaviors supporting our intended resolutions become part of our life.My observations on the functions of cloned cells, in conjunction with current neuroscience, theoretically endorse this process. However, the question remains, “Does it really work?” Personally, the answer is an absolute YES! Through this process, I was able to actively transform a life of struggle into 27 years of Heaven-on-Earth, and still counting. The results of this process were so profound that they led me to write the book, The Honeymoon Effect, a detailed story describing the mechanics of personal transformation.The conclusion is profoundly powerful. The Apocalypse of Belief - Healing Our Culture Bruce H. However, Judeo-Christian philosophy based on the message provided in the Biblical story of Genesis, led people to believe that humans had dominion over Nature. This vision was further emphasized in the era of Modern Science, when Francis Bacon penned that the mission of science was to “dominate and control” Nature.Well, how’s that working out? Clearly, the world is now in a major state of chaos. Human behavior has precipitated the planet’s 6th Mass Extinction Event, and now civilization is facing an imminent extinction.I believe the primary reason for our current predicament is that civilization’s behavior is shaped by four fundamental scientific principles that are now found to be flawed or even outright wrong.(1) The Newtonian focus on the material world as a separate entity from the energy realm has left consciousness and spirit out of our worldview … a belief that has been undermined by quantum physics.(2) The science of conventional genetics has led us to believe that our lives are “preprogrammed” by the genes we inherited at conception, we are victims of our heredity … the new science of epigenetics now reveals that consciousness controls gene expression, so in fact, we are masters of our genome.(3) Darwinian theory emphasizes that random genetic mutations initiate evolution, suggesting there is no reason for our being here … in contrast, new science emphasizes that mutations are not random, but are adaptive in nature. We are here as complements of Nature, not masters.(4) Darwinian theory emphasizes that evolution is driven by a competition for fitness in the struggle for life, in other words, life is a rat-race with violent competition … new science recognizes that “cooperation” is the drive force of evolution, to survive we must return to our aboriginal roots and recognize that we are here to cooperate as Nature’s gardeners.The four failed scientific assumptions have brought us to the threshold of extinction. To survive we must radically change cultural behavior to conform to the current vision of science, a perspective that recognizes we are spiritual (energy) beings inhabiting a virtual reality suit (body) that enables us to be creators and experience sensations such as sunsets, music concerts, fabulous foods and of course, LOVE.With the “new” science we are empowered to manifest Heaven on Earth… a far better, healthier, and happier mission statement than dominating and controlling Nature. When faced with an important, life-influencing decision, most start with a mental assessment of the pro’s and con’s surrounding that decision. We attempt to evaluate the consequences of a decision using acquired knowledge and the awareness derived from previous life experiences. Sometimes, facts lead to a clear and simple conclusion wherein making a decision is easy. But many decisions are not so easily resolved. For example, consider you are offered a job that requires you to move to a new place. Fact A: The job offers an enticing 30% increase over current salary. Fact B: The cost of living in your new residence is 40% higher than where you currently live. Fact C: Your new job responsibilities will change. Fact D: Lifestyle and community consequences may be profoundly different than the current situation.Facts A and B offer straight forward conclusions, with easy to map-out projections: You will make more money, but it will cost more to live. It’s simple math. However, by their nature, Facts C and D are subjective, which means they are based on personal feelings, tastes, and opinions that are difficult (or impossible) to quantify. In addition to the problem of calculating a decision based on incalculable subjective “facts,” consider the consequence of assessing a decision based on misperceptions about things we formerly learned or experienced. Are ALL the “facts” one holds in their mind accurate? Subjective variables and potential misperceptions obviously throw a monkey wrench into the decision-making process that may result in fully unintended outcomes.A profoundly important consideration is that the body has another mechanism that can significantly impact decision-making … feelings. No, this is not New Age mumbo jumbo. For nearly a hundred years, quantum physics has revealed that our perception of a universe divided into matter and energy realms is a false assumption. Quantum physics, the most tested and validated of all sciences, reveals that the Universe is a singularity, it is all energy … atoms are not made of matter. The body translates energy fields into sensations defined as “feelings.”We perceive some energies as “physical” matter, while other energies are represented as invisible waves (e.g., radio, TV and cell phone broadcasts). Our bodies represent physical expressions of energy, while consciousness is an example of an invisible energy field. In physics, energy fields from different sources can become entangled and influence one another. When in harmony, energy fields can combine and enhance the power, or strength, of their collective field. This form of empowerment is scientifically referred to as constructive interference, and in terms of human consciousness, “good vibes.”In contrast, when two or more disharmonious energy fields combine, their entanglement may cancel each other out in a process scientifically referred to as destructive interference, again, in terms of human consciousness, “bad vibes.” There is a basic truism, “energy is life; no energy, means no life.” Since the energies of all the physical and non-physical elements of the world are entangled, the energies that comprise one’s life can be expressed in terms of vibrations ranging from life-affirming constructive interference to life-threatening destructive interference. The body has an amazing ability to read vibrational fields and transduce these experiences into what we perceive as good and bad “vibes.” Mechanistically, the translation of vibratory signatures as feelings is attributed to the function of the heart, not the brain. The mind derives a decision based upon assessing the influence of learned and experienced behaviors. In contrast, the “heart” simply calculates the net result of an enormous amount of entangled energy values concerning the decision and generally comes to a simple digital conclusion expressed as a good vibe or bad vibe. The heart’s insight is more complete and accurate in contributing to a final decision than the mind’s limited analytical assessment.Perhaps the best solution in decision-making is to first assess a situation by using mental analysis, comparing and rating the perceptions of the resulting pro’s and con’s. Once the mind arrives at a decision, sit back and ask, “How do I feel about this decision.” If the heart and mind agree and express “good vibes”, move forward with your decision. They emphasize the science of epigenetics that clearly states that environment controls genetics, which in turn, determines the character of our lives.Consider this story: Mutt and Jeff are two twenty-something year-old friends, who grew up together in side-by-side houses. Walking down a sidewalk, all of a sudden, a harmless garter snake slithers out of the grass and crosses the sidewalk in front of the two friends. Jeff sees the snake and is consciously excited by the beautiful animal that crossed his path. Next to him, Mutt on observing the same snake, goes into a state of fear and releases a burst of stress hormones. Fortunately, Mutt’s heart is in good shape, if it had been compromised, the sight of the snake could have even caused him to have a heart attack.Both Mutt and Jeff are in the exact same environment and see the same stimulus, the snake. However, their responses are radically different. Conventional insights describe epigenetics as the science of how “environment” controls behavior and genetic activity. Based on how the tissue culture environment controlled the behavior of my cultured stem cells in experiments are carried out over 50 years ago, I recognize this to be true. The big question is, “Why did these friends display such significantly different behaviors in the exact same environment?”The answer is profoundly important, for it emphasizes the power of belief in determining the character of our lives. Firstly, the fate and behavior of a cell living in the “outer” environment, such as an amoeba, is indeed shaped by the nature of that external environment. However, the cells inside your body are not in direct contact with the external environment. Under your skin, the cells in the body are living in a completely different world, one controlled by the body’s enclosed growth medium, the blood. Simply, the behavior and genetics of the body’s cellular community are controlled by the chemistry of the interior environment, which in turn, is determined by the composition of the blood.The brain, the “chemist” that controls the composition of the blood, depends on the nervous system to read the body’s external environment. The brain then releases into the blood the hormones, neuropeptides, and emotional chemistry that should coordinate the body’s behavior and genetics to survive in the ever-changing external world. The relevant point is that the nervous system “interprets” the environmental conditions in its efforts to control blood composition and accommodate the behavior needed to sustain life.When Jeff first encountered a snake in his backyard as an infant, his mother, a biologist, picked up the snake, handled it and showed Jeff how wonderful it was. In contrast, when the same snake slithered from Jeff’s yard into Mutt’s neighboring yard, it resulted in a completely different response. Fearful of snakes, Mutt’s mother upon seeing the garter snake screamed and grabbed Mutt as she ran inside for safety. From his mother’s reaction, Mutt acquired the perception that snakes were life threatening.Now, let’s come back to the current day. When the snake was crossing the sidewalk, Jeff was delighted to see it and his brain released loving and calming chemistry into his blood that shaped his internal environment. In contrast, Mutt’s brain infused his body with fear-provoking stress hormones that shifted him from a state of growth into a state of fear which shut down his growth mechanisms and engaged his protection behavior.So, the behavior and genetics of the cells in each of these two bodies expressed a completely different response to the same external environmental signals. In both friends, epigenetic mechanisms controlling their biology were responding to the body’s interior environment. The difference between the two reactions were based on the acquired beliefs each had as a child.The emphasis on environment controlling genetics as described in epigenetic science is absolutely true. The important conclusion is that the epigenetic “environment” inside the body is distinct and separate from the environment outside the body. Since “belief” controls the chemistry of the internal environment, then it is a truly scientific fact that “belief” controls our epigenetic expression. Growth and Protection in The Twilight Zone Bruce H. In the early 50’s, nuclear fission … the atom bomb … was heating up the cold war. The US government and media were continually spewing the fear of an imminent nuclear war with the Russians. Little did the public know that the Soviet Union was in near collapse with little real agency to provoke a war. BUT, we believed the hype!To enhance the fear, the government showed live atomic bomb tests on TV. Model villages were built in the blast zone, so that we could experience the horror of how a nuclear explosion could instantly eradicate an “American” city. The images provoked fear and threats of annihilation. As a consequence, across the country, the sound of blaring sirens signaled air raid drills causing people to stop their livelihood activities and seek protection by descending into underground bomb shelters. Engaging in the protection response, led to the cessation of growth-related behaviors. After the test’s all-clear signal sounded, people returned to their jobs and the community resumed its growth activities.For a moment, consider the consequences if there was no all-clear signal. The population would be forced to remain in the shelters in a continuous state of protection. How long can people survive in this state? For as long as their reserve of food, water, and other energy-sustaining supplies held out. However, the community would eventually collapse in the face of dwindling supplies, after which, they would die.Now consider the fate of a ~50 trillion cellular community that live under your skin. In a state of growth, the cellular citizens and their communities (i.e., the organs), collaborate to maintain health and support the body’s vitality. One of the main functions of the brain, the equivalent of the body’s government, is to interpret what is going on in the “outside” world. The brain then coordinates the survival behavior of the cellular community by sending news of the world via the release of hormonal signals.In a safe and supportive environment, the brain releases signals such as endorphins and growth hormone to encourage communal growth and body maintenance. When the body is under threat from outside forces, the brain release stress and inflammatory hormones, the equivalent of air raid sirens, to direct the cellular community to cease growth activities and engage in a protection response. For an acute or short-term protection response, the body can still maintain its health and viability. However, a chronic 24-7-365 fear response causes the body’s systems to shut down awaiting an all-clear signal that may never come.A community, whether one of people or one of cells, can easily survive short-term stress, like an air raid drill. BUT, when the stress signals go on and on, the cessation of growth inevitably leads to the breakdown of the community and the expression of dysfunction and disease. Global civilization is clearly in chronic stress for we have precipitated the planet’s 6th Mass Extinction, which of course will include humanity.To survive and thrive into the future, we must face an impending evolutionary upheaval. As the unsustainable civilization is collapsing and a new civilization is forming, we are in a state of transition. The most valid science, quantum physics, acknowledges that consciousness is creating our life experiences.Never before has it been so important to recognize we have a personal choice as to whether we focus our consciousness on the fear-provoking symptoms of collapse, such as climate change, COVID-19, and a myriad number of other social “air raid sirens,” or whether to focus our attention on a brighter, more wholesome future wherein civilization comes together to support one another while working in harmony with Mother Nature.A famous Rumi quote offers a most important insight and conclusion: “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.” Rumi is referring to a “field” of LOVE that exists beyond the threats of chronic fear.
