My Beloved Friend Sal/Burt * Victorias Tour Part IV * Victorias Tour With Sal The Rock-afire Explosion 2024-01-02 | Sal is the voice of Fatz from the beginning of Showbiz through the early 2000's when Sal's career took him a different direction and I did the best job I could taking over the performance of the voice of Fatz. As some of you may know, there were many years since then that Sal and I had not spoken with each other. It's not my purpose to get into the details of that hiatus in our friendship that was once the most cherished and important friendship in my life. This historic reunion of Aaron and Sal had been many years coming and we had already been speaking again and planning to get together when possible when Victoria just surprised me and brought Sal with her to her tour at Creative Engineering last Summer. Admittedly, I was not ready to suddenly have this reunion, and Victoria really paid the price for pulling this surprise on me because , what she didn't know is, when Sal and I get together, even on a normal basis, we don't shut up. We joke around, tell stories, and now, after decades of working together, had plenty to reminisce about. And all that talking came out of Victoria's time to tour the shop. But, I turned on the camera and captured our ramblings for you, my Premium Subscribers and tried to frame all this conversation as stories that we were telling Victoria about our life together so she wouldn't feel too left out and cheated out of her tour.So, for those of you who know more about the history of Creative Engineering and the Rock-afire Explosion even than I, here's a treasure trove of memories and stories that show how close Sal and I were as we were creating the phenomenon that rocked the pizza world in the 80's.

When Victoria showed up for her "Super Tour", an expensive, two day experience of shows, tours, discussions, Hydrillium fired dinners, and other customized CEI tour events, she brought a "friend" along as a surprise to me in the wake of some hard feelings between that friend and me that may not have been resolved. She may have thought the bad blood between us would vanish the moment we laid eyes on each other again. She may have hoped he might be welcomed back at Creative after a long hiatus, and many years since he has done the Fatz voice.As well meaning as that is, it is a very dangerous to pull a reunion stunt on someone who is obligated to spend time with you, but may not wish to visit with the third party you're bringing along. You could get fireworks, where you were hoping for rainbows and butterflies.Or you could just lose all the time you paid for to spend with me as Sal and I get caught up on everything we haven't gotten to talk about in so many years.Fortunately, though, Sal and I had already started talking again and were already planning to get together when possible. That's probably why Sal went along with Victoria's "surprise".So, basically, Victoria just found out what it was like to hang out with Sal and me back in the 80's for her customized CEI tour. I still tried to give Victoria a good tour for her money and some personal attention, but I think she learned, that when Sal and Aaron start tangenting, especially after not seeing each other for so long, you can forget about getting in a word edgewise.I would be interested in hearing from you all as to whether you want to see more of this..There is plenty to share, and I definitely consider it "Behind The Scenes".

Part III Aaron Reacts To His Life Story as Told By Juno The Rock-afire Explosion 2023-11-21 | In this part Juno has put a lot of effort into compiling many Rock-afire Explosion clips over the years to demonstrate the personalities of the characters. I think this portion of her documentary shows how I've spent the majority of my life trying to bring happiness to the public and she says I've succeeded. But, she doesn't seem to like the fact that in much of our music we sing frequently about the attraction of boys to girls as it is in most of the music created since the beginning of time. This left me a bit confused, but still very honored by her praise of my life's work.

They are the size of a normal LP, because these metallic test pressing blanks are used for both 7" 45 RPM's and 12" LP's by the pressing company, QCA. They both have a black paint like material flaking off of the metallic surface except on the area where the music actually is. It appears the black "stuff" that has separated and flaked off was purely cosmetic to make the metal look like a normal "record". I left the flakes in the packge. I believe these will still play on a record player or turntable, but the audio may not be perfect due to possible pits that have formed over the years in the audio portion. This is a great, one of a kind collector's item. She said it took 9 months to create and covers every area of my life, including politics and includes her critique of what I've done right and what I've done wrong. The exact book I used to make this video is signed by me and for sale on eBay! If I sell the book, I'll read another story!ebay.com/itm/155882091682 This is just an experiment. For 4 decades, I have imagined reading children's stories in the character voices, and thought, back in 1985, that the mini animatronic Billybob doll would read these stories to children and that the video would come from a video tape as does the audio track and the signals that operated the doll. This idea required a very complex and expensive infrastructure as well as a delicate, and expensive doll that people would have to buy. So, while attempting to clean my garage, and after finding my collection of children's books, buried for 40 years, under what appears to be nests of animals that got in over the years, and after cleaning the books off while preparing to take them to Goodwill, I couldn't help but do this today.And, at this rate, I will never get my garage clean.

The Jutta is 50 Years Old! * A Short Tribute Video The Rock-afire Explosion 2023-05-14 | The Jutta is the 90 MPG Car I built in 1973 and hasn't been driven since 1982, But, recently, I replaced the rear wheel, and worked on the engine and accelerator pedal enough to get this short comparison video. Computer Baron * Broadcast March 11, 1981 The Rock-afire Explosion 2023-05-13 | This news story was based on the burgeoning interest in computers back in 1981 when people were trying to imagine what the various roles computers would someday play in our lives. So, I told what I thought about computers and how they made possible my work in animatronics and entertainment. But the real reason I went looking for this news story today is that I have gotten the Jutta working again and will be restoring it. I needed to find that little clip at the beginning where I parked my Jutta in front of the plant and walked in so I could do a 42 years later retake of that drive. I would have thought this footage would be on YouTube somewhere, but I couldn't find it so here's the whole thing.

The Last Tour Part V - Conclusion- The Show The Rock-afire Explosion 2022-07-29 | Here's the end of The Robinson's Tour. I didn't want to stop showing them shows. I knew this was the last tour, and the last show and I wished we could keep watching the show all night. But, as all good things must end some day, so must this phase of my life and giving tours and shows at "Ground Zero", the birthplace of The Rock-afire Explosion. So, we played a couple of the epic show tapes from our history and, lastly, an appropriate "Rock-afired" song, "Baby When The Lights Go Out".
The Last Tour Part IV- Everything Ages and Dies The Rock-afire Explosion 2022-07-16 | This is the last part of the last tour before we go into the show room and play the last performance of The Rock-afire Explosion. So, in this episode, I show the Robinsons the rest of the basement as it is in the middle of packing everything up, and how we're collecting all the museum pieces together in the hopes that we will establish a Creative Engineering museum in our next life.After this episode, there will be one more episode of The Robinson's Tour where I just shot the show as they watched.I have never been as impressed with the mechanical longevity of The Rock-afire Explosion as I am right now. It seems like everything I am testing as I pack up, whether it is a tape deck, a cassette player, an amplifier, the fork lift, my stored cars, drills, air tools, hydraulic press, monitors, computers, disk drives, equalizers, video games, mixer boards, the garage door opener, the fluorescent lights, the copy machine, printers... EVERYTHING IS BROKEN! Everything, that is except my 100 year old elevator, my 40 year old lathe and milling machines, the air conditioner in my little kitchen, and my Rock-afire Explosion. Those are the things that work perfectly. Isn't that strange? This whole move has been a slap in the face, awakening me as to how long it's been, how much time 45 years actually is, what can survive 45 years and what can't. Many of the people I knew have not survived. Most of the equipment I thought I would have and use forever has not survived. But, my love for inventing has survived, and the enjoyment of sharing all of this has survived. If we get to build a museum, it will be a lot of fun. We'll force the Hard Luck Bears and the Wolf Pack 5 to survive. It will be more amazing than I used to think it would be to see these things rocking again, now that I know how everything ages and dies, except me, of course.
The Last Tour Part III The Rock-afire Explosion 2022-07-16 | Continuing with Part III of The Robinson's Tour, and the last tour I expect to give at Jefferson St., I'm trying not to leave anything out. Chris and his family are asking great questions that should reverberate in the minds of all the fans who never got to take their own tour and ask many of these same questions. All of this matters, or nothing matters. I am not able to say. All I can do is capture this, and give it to you for your consideration.

The Rock-afire Explosion Sings The MST3K Theme Song The Rock-afire Explosion 2021-11-14 | In May of 2021, Joel from MST3K asked me if I would like to help him with his upcoming telethon to crowdfund and relaunch the MST3K show with all new episodes. Being an MST3K fan myself, I was honored to do this and got all the original character voices back together for the first time in a couple of decades so that every original RAE voice is on this video.By the way, Joel's telethon was extremely successful, netting him over $6,000,000 to make new episodes. It made me think I ought to try crowdfunding new Showbiz Pizza Show Tapes, but that's another topic.So, here it is, nice and clean, with no riffing.
