Raivop
The Granstream Saga Demo Version - Beating Capture of Vangel under time limit
updated
Bev is Player 1 and Raivop is Player 2
Thanks to the huge efforts to Insignia team, Street Fighter Anniversary Collection is playable on Xbox Live again via Insignia service! (https://insignia.live/). I managed to play and record couple of matches against Bev (His YT channel: youtube.com/@srkade7141) and we both had ton of fun! And to my surprise, the net-code holds surprisingly well to this day.
And yeah, I know I haven't uploaded anything in ages, but I still have playthroughs (I have actually couple of them recorded already, haven't got around uploading them) and TF2 dubs in mind, especially the latter.
Tobal 2 has some really frustrating AI. The first six stages aren't that bad, but from Stage 7 onwards AI starts to pull out classic input reading BS at its max. Any kind of offensive play ends up with AI doing precise counters and being defensive makes AI do all kinds of mixups and grabs.
The best thing you can do is to rely on sidestepping and hoping AI does an attack that can be easily punished. Fortunately Oliems has some really good anti-AI moves, starting from his basic mid-attack combo (straight kick followed by axe kick that comes pretty fast and hits from high to low). He also has reliable launcher combo (back + M,M,M) that AI sometimes refuses to block. The AI tends to use low hitting attacks (especially Udan who loves to do low tackles all the damn time) on later stages, so you could just that as advantage if you end up getting knocked down or pressured.
Toyota Celica's my favorite car in Sega Rally. Its handling feels just right, as you can pull out some nice powerslides with it.
Lancia Stratos is an unlockable car in Sega Rally Championship's Sega Saturn and PC port. Compared to Toyota Celica and Lancia Delta, it is pretty much the fastest car in the game at expense having worst handling, which makes powersliding more difficult. Still, once you master it, you can beat Arcade mode without much trouble, even on Hard difficulty.
Also I want to say that the engine sounds are wayyyy too loud in PC port, making the music barely hearable.
Anyway, here's Bakuryu The Mole playthrough. He's your typical ninja character, so he moves and hits fast. He also has some nifty special moves, most of them involving teleport antics and the Izuna Drop or two. In other words, he is a fun character to play as.
Recorded on PS3 via Elgato HD60 using component cables.
Yeah, I haven't made videos for awhile again, so here's a playthrough about Bloody Roar Extreme. I'm not certainly good in Bloody Roar, but I want to say that AI kinda gets annoying on later stages, as in "lemme dodge and block most of your attacks" kind of annoying. Also I somehow managed to corrupt this game's save at some point. Oops.
Recorded on Elgato HD60.
It has been awhile since I made a playthrough video (because of real life and thesis etc.), so here's one. Bit iffy gameplay-wise, but I did this just to see how Elgato HD60 fares on OG Xbox.
Steyr is the third playable character in Gungage. Her gatling gun's decent weapon and has good fire rate. Unlike other characters, Steyr can dash forward and duck, the latter being more situational, but it does have its uses.
As for the special attacks, Steyr has three of them; Mirror (reflects enemy shots and also damages anyone near the barrier), Laser (locks on nearby enemies and shoots lasers at them) and Nova (big AoE attack). Each of them are surprisingly powerful, even mirror. In fact, Nova does huge amount of damage against bosses as well.
Anyway, Bayman is an unlockable character from Japanese Dreamcast version and onwards, although he isn't available in story mode. Gameplay-wise he's similar to Leon as both share the same fighting style, but Bayman still have couple of unique attacks and grabs of his own, making him pretty fun character to use.
Porsche Challenge was literally the first racing game I have ever played, and man did I love it, even if I found this game really tough. Now two decades later I bought a new copy and finally decided to pay my respects, this time beating it on Evil! difficulty which is the hardest one. (Generally tougher AI and strict time limits).
Aside from Alpine Normal and Japan Long tracks, I think this playthrough went pretty well enough.
"Wow, tough!"
Siegfried hits hard and far, and his triangle-triangle-triangle combo works well against AI. Although his attacks are rather slow-side, which can definitely a problem against Hard difficulty AI, who really likes to punish or counter your attacks.
It has been awhile since I have uploaded a playthrough, so here's one about Soul Blade. I don't have much to say about Hwang other that he's all-round character, and his Triangle-Triangle-Square-Square+Down combo is very handy against AI, although it does leave you quite vunerable if they block every strike.

Usually I prefer Ken over Ryu in Street Fighter EX3 because his moves generally favor more combo possibilities. Also his Hurricane Kick is very handy as well, because you can momentary combo into it from Hadouken. Or even cancel it into a super at the move's end!
Recorded on fat PS2 by using Elgato HD60.
This might be bit random upload, but I bought plenty of PS1 demo discs lately, and one of those had this demo. I had pretty fond memories with this demo when I was young, so I decided to record playthrough about it.
As for demo itself, it only contains first stage and R9 as playable ship.
Anyway, instead talking about Gally gameplay-wise, I'm just gonna flat-out state and say that Gally is the best character in the game, and also Paul Eiding's finest VA role. Period. Take that, Colonel!
"Sorry about last week; I like booze!"
Red Scout has mastered some ancient martial arts, and decided to challenge entire Blu team (and also some other guests) in good ol' Arena match. Will Red Scout defeat the BLU team and triumph over the odds?
This scene comes from the movie called Tom Yum Goong. Sorry for rather... lackluster video quality but I couldn't find better quality clip from this scene. Also credits and inspiration goes to Terry Yum Goong (see it here, youtu.be/Kk0kufx74Io) which inspired me to do this TF2 dub.
Personally the biggest problem I have with this mode is that challenges are tied to certain transmission. And unfortunately for me 75% of challenges are using Automatic transmission, which I find rather hard to get used to, as you can't do gear drifting with them. It would have been better to give player a choice which transmission they want to use.
Also the challenges are relatively easy to beat (although frankly few of them took few attempts to get right). The rival challenges especially are cakewalk compared to Arcade mode races, which I found bit weird.

The Expert course is daunting; lots of sharp corners require you to master powersliding technique to the fullest. I played mostly safe with powerslide, even if my driving was somewhat sub-optimal. Still, this track is really hard, especially on Arcade difficulty, although you can make few mistakes. One big crash is still enough to make sure you won't reach first place.

I had some trouble with Advanced course first, namely the last corner, but after few attempts, I pretty much got it covered. The course itself is pretty fun; first half is fairly straight while the second half has plenty of corners which require different kind of powersliding.

So yeah, I bought this yesterday, and had lots fun with it. The Beginner course is pretty simple; it is an oval track with tight corner in the end which requires you to powerslide. On Normal difficulty this race isn't too bad but on Arcade difficulty, making few mistakes can cost you the race.

Being a secret boss, Sho can deliver some serious damage. He has both Eiji's and Kayin's special moves, his Rekkuzan shoots two fireballs instead of one, and most importantly he is really fast and hits hard.
Gaia's the main boss in Battle Arena Toshinden 1, and he sure is unwieldy to use at first; his attacks are really slow and leave him open for attacks, but they do have a large hitbox. Also I wouldn't recommend jumping because he descents veeeeery slowly from air. In contrast, his dodges are really fast.
But once you get used to him, he is a total powerhouse; his fireballs will do lot of damage. And his "charge towards enemy and hit with energy force" attack will hurt a lot, if you combo it from Weak Slash. Also he has i-frames during the charging part, so you can stop anyone from their track. And of course his desperation attack absolutely wrecks his opponents and can be used to punish overaggressive enemies.
Mondo took some time to get used to, because most of his moves has rather long reach, but in close range he doesn't have great options. Although his Weak Kick comes really fast and is pretty safe attack to use.
I don't have much to say about Duke, because I'm not really great at him, but notable thing is that he doesn't have kick attacks and instead using different kind of slashes when you press WK or HK.
His specials are mixed bag: Death/Cyclone is pretty decent, but it doesn't home at the the opponent. Southern Cross is finicky, as it has a habit to push opponent away so they don't get hit by the end of the attack.
His desperation move in other hand is one of most dangerous attacks in the game, because it comes so fast and a good hit can easily OHKO the opponent.
I could go in-depth about Fo, but all you need to know is that he can fart.
Sorry for bit lackish gameplay, but I haven't touched Tekken Tag Tournament in ages. Also note this is the PAL version which runs slower.
This is more of a test playthrough, and chances are if I do more TTT playthroughs, I will get the HD version just for the 1080p/60fps alone.
Sofia's pretty great character; she has plenty of range, her kicks are fast and most of her attacks are easy to combo. Also her specials and desperation move are handy as well; Rattlesnake is good for punishing, while Aurora Revolution deal nice chunk of damage if it connects. Although Thunder Ring's start-up is really long.
As for the races, they are pretty simple, even the Angel/Devil ones. You don't need to worry about blocking Angel or Devil cars; as long as you don't crash into walls too much, you are good to go.
This was recorded on Retroarch using Beetle HW core. I also enabled PGPX which enables perspective correction and thus makes polygons look more stable.
The first video focuses on Normal Courses, and those are pretty much piece of cake.

Rungo hits hard, but most of his attacks are pretty slow. Fortunately his weak slash and crouch weak kick come rather fast, which you can use to poke opponent and combo it into Batter Up for some good damage.
His Fire Strike is also great for hitting opponents when they are getting up; most of the time AI ignores the attack and tries to do
a reversal but instead end up taking damage.
Ellis is a nimble character, and while most of her attacks seem pretty weak damage-wise, she can wreck havoc fast. Her greatest tool is her weak slash attack; not only it comes pretty fast, it also hit twice and covers rather wide zone and you can combo it easily into other attacks.
In fact, if you hit enemy from behind or side with it, you can pretty much stunlock them and deal some serious damage! Weak kick is also pretty handy for combo-purposes, as it also hits twice and has more reach than weak slash.
As for her specials, Sore Wind is kinda weak, but it does its job. Sickle Dancing in other hand is no joke if you can nail it; a good timed Sickle Dancing can even take half of the opponent's health!
I don't have much to say about Billy Kane, except he can really wreck havoc with his cane, if you rush down your opponent. Also you can corner the AI with his Wheel Fire super.
Recorded via Elgato HD60. The faster load times are due to game being installed on HDD.
Here it is. The big, or should I say holy-nuts-this-is-long, one. The endurance race.
Difficulty-wise it is not hard, as you will be driving circles around your opponents. It just demands patience. At least Namco was nice enough to pick one of the shorter courses for this race.
This is the PAL version (using the original copy I have), and was recorded via PCSX2 1.5 (nightly build btw). I apologize for
the muddy picture quality, but I had to use Software render because Hardware render produces some nasty graphical glitches. And even on Software it is not 100% perfect i.e. cars' shadow look white.
"WOW. GREAT CORNERING."
The first Guilty Gear got re-released lately on recent consoles and PC, so I decided to do a quick playthrough about it.
Chipp is a very fast character, and unlike other games, he isn't fragile defense-wise. It is really easy to pull out combos on opponents and rushing them down, which works wonders against this game's random AI.
Heck, even Justice got totally her ass whooped in this playthrough, which felt super satisfying given to her super cheapness.
DIG is easily the hardest team in this game. You can't afford doing too many mistakes. It also doesn't help this team's cars don't handle so well compared to every other team.
Also sorry for skipping Grand Prix intro, but I have been having some issues with Beetle PS1 HW lately with its Vulkan render. Anyway, enjoy.
Again, I don't have much to say, except this team's car are slowest but handling-wise the best.
Also sorry for skipping Grand Prix intro, but I have been having some issues with Beetle PS1 HW lately with its Vulkan render. Anyway, enjoy.
I don't exactly have much to say about PRC, aside from me not being used to Grip cars.

Lots of chucklehead knucklin' and head impacts are involved in this grappletastic video, where Scout Rena faces Soldier Hurgh, Demo Pine, and Ceasar Spy. Also features randumb husks.
Played on Level 5 (Hard) difficulty.
Bayhou replaces (unfortunately) Fo Fai in this game. Moves-wise he shares the specials with Fo, aside from different Desperation Attack. But his normal/string attacks are mostly different. In fact, Bayhou's rival character, Culling, actually plays way closer Fo than Bayhou!
Oh, and farts, because why not.
Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury-series makes an appearance in this game, and while I'm not into his move set too much, he certainly fits in this game really well. Also he's the only character so far who has level 3 super combo (Two of them in fact!)
Vulcano Russo hasn't changed much from his SFEX 2/3 counterpart; aside lack of Meteor combo, Russo retains every other move. Due to Fighting EX Layer's very aggressive pace, V. Rosso can pressure opponents, and play mindgames with his dash move. Certainly a very fun character to use.
Recorded via Nvidia Share.
Soldier Nukem's R&R in cp_bootylicious doesn't go as planned as the Heavy Pigs come and ruin everything because reasons. Hail to the King, maggots!

I'm not a big fan how Vermilion plays in BAT3; his guns are meh, it takes ages to reload, and most of his moves rather awkward to use. Although Verm really packs a punch with his kick attacks so he can pull out some serious damage.
Also I prefer his BAT2 over BAT3 one; shame they didn't include it as an alternative costume.

Played on level 5 (Hard) difficulty.
Shizuku is one of the newcomers in BAT3, and while she's rather slow movement-wise, her strings are highly comboable and her HS is fast and great for setting up juggles.
Also, Veil's desperation attack is more wild than I thought 24:04.
p.s. Vermintide 2 is fun. Also I will be continuing playthroughs soon; got busy with real life lately so sorry for lack of videos.
Also I should really note that cars are really fragile when it comes to crashing into anything; one good crash will make you car smoke and in a minute or two, the engine will cut off for good, so yeah, pay attention where you drive.
Played on Fat PS2 (SCPH-30004) and recorded via Elgato HD60. This is the first PAL release, which is the uncut one.
"I mean trash it. Smash the place to pieces. Crucify 'em. No, wait. Torch the place! You got me?"
This game was very ambitious back then in 2002 with its movie-like presentation and gritty story, detailed London map and having real life cars from real manufacturers.
Even if the actual gameplay isn't that great, (sloppy driving/collision detection, oversensitive controls, especially during stealth sections), I still appreciate what Team Soho wanted to achieve with PS2, and I would easily recommend giving this game a try.
