The 2K22 Tunguska is a soviet tracked self-propelled anti-aircraft system armed with a surface-to-air gun and missiles. It is designed to provide day and night protection for infantry and tank regiments against low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and cruise missiles in all weather conditions.

Lightweight artillery can be easily airlifted by helicopter, or dropped by parachute, it is easier to change azimuth of fire and does not need a recoil pit.
