Escaping NYC for a Family Weekend in Lake Luzerne, Food, Birthday, Games & Reflection Traveling Gay Panda 2026-09-25 | Welcome to the first FALL DIARIES VLOG of 2026!For my mom's 70th birthday, we cleared our schedules and spent an entire weekend together.We escaped New York City to Lake Luzerne near Lake George, in upstate New York, where we stayed together in a cozy lakeside cabin and basically went back to being kids again.Growing up, my family used to road trip everywhere. We'd spend holidays crammed into tiny hotel rooms, sometimes sharing the same bed, and somehow those chaotic little trips became some of my favorite memories. As we got older, though, life happened so for my mom's 70th birthday, we made it happen. It was EXACTLY the kind of weekend I didn't realize I needed.There was a lot of Filipino food, mahjong, board games, kayaking, paddle boarding, water sports, and even a railway biking adventure. We also took a little trip to Saratoga Springs for food, tea, and some vintage bag shopping because apparently I cannot go anywhere without looking at a handbag. 😂But somewhere between all the family chaos and the quiet moments on the lake, I found myself thinking about something I don't give myself enough time to do in New York City: reflection.Living in NYC can be incredible, but there's stimulation everywhere. Your calendar fills up, you're constantly moving, and there's always something else to do. Sometimes it's difficult to stop and ask yourself: Where am I in my life? Am I happy with where my career is going? What do I want next? How am I doing financially? How are my relationships?One morning, I took a kayak out onto the lake by myself and just sat there looking out at the forest and the water. No notifications, schedule, or city noise. It was just me and my thoughts.It ended up being a surprisingly reflective birthday weekend, not only because my mom was turning 70, but because getting older has made me think about birthdays differently too. They're not just about cakes, gifts, and another year passing. Sometimes they're little milestones that remind us to check in with ourselves and see where we actually are.So this is a little different from my usual bag-heavy videos, but I hope you'll come along for the ride. I Bought a $35 Leather Bag from Tanner Leatherstein - Atelier Pegai Poset Unboxing + Review Traveling Gay Panda 2026-09-04 | This week’s vlog is mostly about a bag. But not exactly the kind of bag you usually see me talking about.I unbox Atelier Pegai Poset bags from Tanner Leatherstein. Yes. THAT Tanner Leatherstein! The leather expert and content creator known for literally cutting open luxury handbags to see what’s actually going on underneath all that designer branding.What caught my attention about Pegai is the idea behind the Poset. Instead of treating leather like this ultra-luxurious material that automatically means a bag should cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, Tanner is using leftover and difficult-to-sell leathers from tanneries and turning them into something incredibly simple and practical: a leather shopper tote for $30–$35.That honestly made me stop and think. We’ve gotten so accustomed to seeing leather handbags cost hundreds, thousands, and sometimes tens of thousands of dollars that it’s easy to forget that leather itself isn’t necessarily a luxury product. So I was really curious to see what happens when you take leather, strip away the luxury branding and complicated construction, and turn it into something as ordinary as a grocery bag.I chose the mystery box option, which meant I had absolutely no idea what leather I was going to receive. It's basically summer in bag form. Walking the Length of Manhattan - Broad City Challenge Traveling Gay Panda 2026-08-22 | Welcome back to another Summer Diaries Vlog!Today’s episode is a little different because I decided to spend several hours doing something that sounded way more fun and romantic in my head than it actually was. I did the Broad City Challenge which is walking the entire length of Manhattan from the tippity top of Inwood all the way down to Battery Park.Apparently, it's roughly 14–16 miles and most people seem to finish it in around four to five hours.Me? 18 miles and 6.5 hours!I've seen people describe this walk as this beautiful, leisurely New York adventure as they stroll through different neighborhoods, stopping for a glass of wine, taking cute photos along the West Side, casually enjoying the city.For me, it was more like panting, grunting, sweating. But honestly, despite the suffering, this ended up being such a fun way to experience New York.I've lived in New York for years, but there were so many neighborhoods along the route that I had never really explored. Summer Diaries - Luxury Fashion is NOT DEAD Fashion Chit Chat, Washington DC Tennis Tournament Traveling Gay Panda 2026-08-12 | Welcome back to another Summer Diaries!This summer, we made it a goal to turn the season into a summer of road trips, and this time we're hitting the road for not one, but TWO weekends in Washington DC!The main reason for the trips? The Washington DC Mubadala Citi Open. Over the two weekends, we got to see Andy Murray, Kei Nishikori, Naomi Osaka, Jessica Pegula, Ben Shelton, Jack Draper, Lleyton Hewitt, Rafael Jodar, Cruz Hewitt, Venus Williams and so many other incredible players up close. But the biggest moment of the entire trip was watching one of my favorite young players, Alex Eala, make Philippine tennis history.Spoiler Alert: Alex Eala WON THE WHOLE TOURNAMENT!!!As a Filipino, getting to witness that moment in person was incredibly special. Being surrounded by other Filipinos in the stands, watching someone represent our country on such a big stage, was one of those travel memories that I'll never forget.In the second half of the vlog, I get into a slightly salty fashion rant about one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to luxury content online: the never-ending "LUXURY IS DEAD" conversation.Is luxury actually dead? As I spent Pride Weekend in New York City surrounded by so much love, joy, and community, I found myself reflecting on what Pride truly means to me—not just today, but growing up as a gay Asian man who often wondered if I belonged.If there's one message I hope someone takes away from this video, it's this: There is no one way to be gay.For a long time, I believed I didn't quite fit the image of what a gay man was "supposed" to be.
