Her research is concerned with moral and social behavior, using laboratory methods as well as field research across different social-cultural settings. Her innovative, adventurous approach to research goes beyond conventional academic and disciplinary boundaries. She has conducted research work with military personnel, prison inmates, and survivors and perpetrators of genocide. She has done fieldwork Rwanda and Cambodia. Since October 2022, Prof. Caspar has been an elected member of the Collegium of the Royal Academy of Belgium. In August 2023, she was celebrated as one of the top 15 scientific young talents by the Dutch New Scientist Magazine.
