I have been struggling a bit with editing the songs, mainly because I wanted to do them in order to tell the story to you guys, through my videos. Finished this back in October and actually forgot to publish it. Yeah, this happened. Hurts released their new album and I got sucked into this song in particular, or rather, the story. So after playing it on repeat for days I decided I need to edit with it.This is actually dedicated to my boyfriend, Steve. It's probably not the most romantic gesture given the story, but it is SORT OF how things began with us way back when. And here we are now.

I guess I promised a longer description so I'll try. I have wanted to edit with this song for years and I don't know, somehow this combo just came to me. It's not faithful to the anime or story or characters, but hey the clips worked.I love lipsync. Still. Always. I love it. I could build all my videos around it. I love it. I wanted to try to create a romantic atmosphere, even with the small humor bits. I wanted the plot twist to actually hit the audience (who don't know the song) and from what I've heard I've succeeded with most people. I remember the first time I heard this song and I just fell from my chair like did I hear that right? :D This was before I knew where the song was from, afterwards it made perfect sense.I will probably be editing lots of other songs from the musical. Eventually. We'll see. They're quite challenging and long. :D Some of them anyway. For people who want to join Japan Expo next year all I want to say is lower your expectations. Way low. I went there, and it was such a disappointment. Convention itself was good, but the way they do their AMV stuff is kind of embarrassing compared to the cons I've been to. I sent this to a few other contests, too but it didn't do so well. I finished this on February 17th. why is everything so heavy?This video is about depression, and my past. Brandon shared this wonderful song with me today, and I instantly had to edit to it. So thank you.This took me 8 hours total, that's including the multiple rendering and encoding of the video. As many of my friends know, my son died 5 years ago. I've made multiple old videos where I process losing him, his death.. But I've never made a video quite like this.This video focuses on my relationship with Axel's father, my ex-boyfriend. We stayed together for 2 years after losing Axel but it wasn't much of a relationship anymore. We sort of just, existed, together. We shared the same experiences, but both dealt with our depression completely alone. There are plenty of things in this world that only the two of us know. I don't remember much from those days, most of it is a blur now.While I wanted to process my thoughts about my past relationship, I also focused on Shuuichi's and Mizuki's story. I realize it's not as accurate as I wanted it to be, and honestly leaving out Yuu and Nagi from the story just kind of pissed me off cuz they have really great scenes but ... oh well. In the end, I'm glad I joined, turns out the contest received only 3 videos, and 2 of the AMV-contest team members had to edit a video into the contest to be able to actually *have* the contest. (I've been told these two didn't win, though)I don't know how it did, but I sure as hell hope Shiro won. I was able to attend the convention this year, flew to Seattle all the way from Finland and I am so happy I went. I went to the AMV dinner and met amazing people even if I was too shy to really take part in the conversations. I was told this video was close to winning Best Comedy, and that the judges really liked it. That means so much to me so thank you, thank you, thank you so much. I will hold this achievement close to my heart and I am definitely joining again next year!

I wanted to re-release it now without the typography that the original version had.I sent this to Desucon Frostbite 2017 AMV-contest and was surprised it actually did better than the video I made for the contest originally. I'm glad I'm finally able to publish it, I think this was finished somewhere in May.I personally think that lipsync parodies are the best thing ever. They are so fun to make, they don't need any super special awesome effects and they just WORK. And the fun thing about lipsync is that you notice instantly when it's not done well. :D This was finished pretty quickly and I had a lot of help from my friends with picking the animes.
