Part 4 of Values Journaling, Done with a Focus on Mindset Changes- Writing Goals and Intentions Comfortable Shoes Studio 2025-01-19 | In this video I follow up my introduction to my method for values journaling. I use mindmapping to get my first thoughts about my values down. This is followed by writing about each of those prompts we created in the first part of the process. The Process:Sit down and mind map or mind dump all the things you care aboutCreate headings/overarching topics for these things, group together like itemsTake each of these overarching topics and write about them- ask why, when, who, what and where. Then ask it again. Go deep. Then go deeper.After you finish writing, go back through with a highlighter or fun pen and highlight and mark up those pages. Find all the really important and juicy bits. Highlight them.After highlighting the juicy bits, write more in depth about each of these items. Start to draw conclusions. Create solutions. Give yourself high fives if you are on track. Start to think about goals for each of these. (I am here)Write goals. Use whatever goal writing structure works for you. I am partial to a loose interpretation of SMART goals.Write goals down in your journal. Check in on your goals every 2 or 3 months. Feel good when you check off a goal. I use mindmapping to get my first thoughts about my values down. This is followed by writing about each of those prompts we created in the first part of the process. The Process:Sit down and mind map or mind dump all the things you care aboutCreate headings/overarching topics for these things, group together like itemsTake each of these overarching topics and write about them- ask why, when, who, what and where. Then ask it again. Go deep. Then go deeper.After you finish writing, go back through with a highlighter or fun pen and highlight and mark up those pages. Find all the really important and juicy bits.
