The 2026 Toyota GR GT3 is the racing half of Toyota's new GR GT supercar, the machine tipped as the spiritual successor to the Lexus LFA. It is the first true works GT3 car Toyota has built under its own GR badge, and it replaces the Lexus RC F GT3 as the brand's GT3 flagship.
0:00 Introduction & Overview
0:30 Carbon Fiber Body & Aluminium Frame
0:45 Engine, Power & Balance
1:05 Racing Performance & Rivals
1:18 Exterior Design & Aerodynamics
1:34 Cockpit, Controls & Digital Dash
1:51 Verdict & Future GR GT Roadcar
Under the skin sits a bespoke four-litre twin-turbo V8 in a hot-vee layout, mounted front-mid and driving the rear wheels through an all-aluminium space frame wrapped in carbon fibre. Unlike the road car, the GR GT3 does without the hybrid system, because GT3 rules ban it, and its power is set by Balance of Performance rather than a headline figure.
SPECS AT A GLANCE
Engine - 4.0L twin-turbo V8, hot-vee, dry sump (race car, no hybrid)
Layout - front mid-engine, rear-wheel drive
Body - all-aluminium space frame, carbon-fibre panels
Length / wheelbase - 4,785 mm / 2,725 mm
Road-car sibling - GR GT, 650 PS V8 hybrid, from 2027
Races in - FIA WEC (LMGT3, incl. Le Mans) and IMSA WeatherTech
Rivals - Porsche 911 GT3 R, Ford Mustang GT3
THE HONEST PART: on paper the GR GT3 can look tamer than the number-chasers, because it gives up the road car's hybrid and its outright power is capped by Balance of Performance, and Toyota has not published a customer price. But that is exactly what GT3 racing rewards. A car built to win on balance, driver skill and reliability across twenty-four hours, not on a horsepower headline, aimed at professional and gentleman drivers alike.
