All of us at AFB hope this year has been as good to you as it has been to us. With the support of people like you, we’ve accomplished everything we set out to do – and so much more.
A few highlights from 2024:
- AFB’s documentary film, Possibilities, received multiple awards and was featured in 15 national and international film festivals. The film shares the impact of AFB’s chief ambassador, Helen Keller, as told through contemporary blind voices.
- We played a key role in the passage of new federal regulations requiring state and local governments to make their websites and mobile applications accessible to people with disabilities.
- We advised Mattel on the design and release of the first Blind Barbie, ensuring thoughtful representation.
- We launched a major research initiative to explore the societal impact of artificial intelligence, with a focus on its implications for people with disabilities.
- Our Digital Accessibility Internship Program welcomed 19 students, empowering the next generation of professionals dedicated to making digital technology accessible to all.
