The track for December has already been decided, but the two months between are tentative, there may only be one cover in that period. Also March 2017 is definitely NOT happening. Secret projects and all that.

Boss 3 wasn't as straightforward to cover as Boss 2, but still orders of magnitude easier than Underworld. I guess the real thorn in my side here was the part with the crazy organ at 1:01. It's an element that really stood out in the original so it had to be kept in here somehow, but my initial ideas weren't working. The plan was a huge 1-octave pitch bend on a guitar. I put this in, it sounded like shit because I still haven't got very great guitar sounds yet. I should really get my shit together on this soon. Before March.
This one also demanded a bit of a more elaborate arrangement than Boss 2. More in the way of pitch bends, panning changes, volume fades, some ambient effects at the start and ending, and so on.

This channel is almost dead now. I'm busy with other things that take priority, but I absolutely couldn't resist brushing off the dust to do another cover. Midnight Motorist is a minigame inside the brand new Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator, also referred to as Five Nights at Freddy's 6.
The series is often quite polarising in opinion, but I don't give a damn - this song is awesome and here's my take on it.
Most of my Terraria covers have been aimed towards the symphonic metal genre, and as the original Plantera theme is closer to that than other entries in the Terraria soundtrack, this cover isn't as wildly different to the original as some of my previous works. What I did do though is (controversially?) tone down the metal slightly, and ramped up the symphonic side to get a more intense sound. There's actually no guitar on this, just an overdriven bass.
This is my first cover, and first overall upload following the software upgrade. I hope it was worth the wait. Thanks for listening!
One of the most difficult covers I've ever done. This nearly never happened because I scrapped my first three attempts in their very early stages. Trying to replicate the twinkly effects of the original left me pretty stumped for a few days.
I think this was the first song from Terraria I ever heard, back in 2014, before I had actually played the game. Devalaous sent it to me as a basis for a track he had asked me to write for a Doom project he was involved with. That song was Frozen Wilderness, and the project was TNT: Revilution, which just happens to be entering beta testing in just a few days (as of this upload). The circle is complete!
I noticed from looking through the comments on the uploads of the original theme, everyone seemed to share the same part as their favourite, which is where I brought in the piano on this version, so I hope that part in particular was done justice.
Any Doomers out there watching this, keep your ears peeled, the connection to Revilution isn't the only Doom tie-in here, there's one in the music itself ;)
And now once again, the obligatory disclaimer that I can't make any promises on when or what the next cover will be. Still waiting on that software upgrade.

-- Sudden burst of activity led to this, thought I was all finished for this year! Sorry to anyone who has been waiting patiently for a new cover, other stuff - including original compositions - have been keeping me busy. I can't make any promises on regularity from here on in, but making these on a monthly basis seems unlikely.
Had a technical hitch with this one where I lost everything up to 1:08. I didn't think I was finished mixing that part but apparently FL Studio had other ideas. So in the end I had two files that I did my best to stitch together.
One of my favourite tracks from Terraria. I really wanted to get that surreal choral part (0:41 here) spot on, it's a definite highlight of the game's soundtrack. For the track as a whole, I tried to stay somewhat faithful to the original, but the electronic elements of the original are a bit less pronunced, as per my own preference. And there's a shitload of reverb and delay effects everywhere, because that seemed like a no-brainer for music that plays in an ice cave.
I said all along this would be merged with the surface ice theme - but I didn't really know how I would do that, so I'll just do them separately instead. Thanks for listening, enjoy!
-- Suddenly, a new track added to the game! Had to have a go at this one. Bit of procrastinating meant this took a bit longer than it should have done, but it was easy enough to make, though this one sits on a bigger scale arrangement wise than my previous covers I think. Since I've done two covers very close together, in the interest of balance this'll be it until somewhere around mid-November, and the track for that month and December has already been decided.

-- Similar in tempo to Boss 2, and not much more difficult to figure out how to arrange everything. It was kind of interesting working the jungle-like percussion into the mix. Even now I'm not 100% sold on the buzzy synth sound, but otherwise I think this is my personal favourite of my covers so far.
Since Boss 4 is a very short track (about 85 seconds) that loops once to extend it to about 3 minutes, I tried to stick to the structure and all the little details of the original in the first loop (while still doing them in my own way), and then kind of started doing my own thing afterward, such as that change to 6/8 near the end.
The to-do list for Terraria covers got a little longer this month with the 1.3.3 update; I'm already starting on the Sandstorm theme, and aiming for a very early October release. In the meantime, hope you enjoy this one! Thanks for listening!
- 9 months since the Underworld remix; this has been long overdue. As soon as I finished that I was thinking I'd do the Corruption theme next, then more recently I started toying with the idea of doing Overworld Day in June.
After neither of those happened, I abandoned my plans completely and suddenly decided to spend the last hours of my birthday working on Boss 2 instead :P It's not a theme I really ever noticed, because the nature of the WoF and Twins fights - especially the Twins - don't really allow for much concentration on the music that's playing. When I first listened to it properly, I was sold on the fast tempo and the melody.
This was significantly easier to work with than the Underworld theme, which likely played a part in this taking only 6 days rather than like 3 weeks. As for which theme I'll do next, I'm not sure. I've got some ideas flying around for Boss 3 (Destroyer/Frost Legion/Brain of Cthulhu), but whether it's possible to make those ideas reality, I'm not sure. One thing is probably certain, it won't be another 9 months!

Here's the other remix from last February. This time I still had a backup of the MIDI, so I was able to make a few adjustments and tidy the thing up a bit. Unfortunately, still only able to have soundfont guitars, so for such a guitar-heavy track, my limitations do show through here more than usual :c
For the video, it's a simple montage celebrating E1M1 itself, and its status as one of the most iconic levels in the FPS genre, seeing countless remakes for other games and engines. I searched around the internet for pictures of these, and found some pretty good ones. Oh and like the E1M2 video, the obligatory UV max video is included ^_^
This has been sitting on my hard drive for over a year! And with the new game right around the corner, now is the perfect time to finally release it.
It's not 100% perfect, there were changes I wanted to make to it, but I lost the MIDI file in a hard drive crash a couple months ago. I didn't feel it was worth the time to do the entire thing from scratch for the sake of a few minor nitpicks, so here it is, as it was last February.

In celebration of the first anniversary of their new forums, the Terraria community have been holding a competition. Entrants submit stuff from creative writing, to artwork to awesome in-game screenshots and of course, music :)
When I was told about the competition, my head immediately jumped to the corruption theme, my favourite track in the game, then I found out it had to be from the recent 1.3 update. Since I only knew the new Underworld theme, I went for that. What an insane piece of music. Scott Lloyd Shelly is some sort of crazy genius. I don't know what went through his head when he made this piece, and I'm not sure I want to. Very difficult to remix.
Not so sure I'll win the music category, especially after Led's remix of Goblin Invasion (seriously, check this out, it's awesome: youtube.com/watch?v=nqVljT9aS2I), but regardless it's been great fun working out all the crazy stuff going on in this piece and putting my own spin on it. EDIT: Turns out I did win after all, massive thanks everyone!
Mostly I stayed faithful to the original structure, though I did sneak "Eerie," the old Underworld theme prior to 1.3 in there, and the ending is new.
Big thanks to Deva for informing me of the competition's existence, I've wanted to do a Terraria remix for a while, and this prompted me to finally do one.

So I already did a remix of this song a couple of years ago, but given the recent events, I thought it was worth having another go (I think it could've been done better last time anyway).
Ty Halderman is a name that every Doomer should have heard of. The main man of TeamTNT, his body of work encompasses Final Doom, Icarus: Alien Vanguard (and also Daedalus), Eternal Doom (managerial role), the Boom engine, and all those TNT deathmatch WADs. In addition to this, in 1998, he assumed the position of maintainer of the idgames archive, which he did alone with little break until 2015, when complications due to a brain tumour hospitalised him. He passed away on July 31.
Following the news, members of Doomworld have started to organise a mapping session, lasting the whole of the month of September, to create a boom-compatible tribute megawad (presumably for the TNT IWAD). As I all too often say, I can't map to save my life, so I decided on remixing TNT's most well known piece of music, which happens to also be the most fitting for such a theme. I'd like to think other musicians will follow suit. Doomhuntress got one in before me, and it was a pretty interesting take, turning it into a faster, sort of more upbeat rendition. It'd be cool to see what else people could come up with for this piece.
For the video, it first looks like these images have nothing to do with Ty's contribution to the community, but they are in fact representations of his maps and other stuff he was involved with. i.e, TNT MAP04: Wormhole, represented by a picture of a wormhole. (Yes, I know he didn't make Crater or Pharaoh, but the images were nice enough to warrant inclusion anyway, and how could I remix this song and not somehow reference Pharaoh? :D)

Avant la Tempête is a two-minute guitar instrumental written and performed by DragonForce bassist Frédéric Leclercq, and was included as a bonus track on their fifth studio album, "The Power Within," released in April 2012. The name of the song is French for "Before the Storm."
If you know me from the Doom community, some back story: About a year ago, I had pretty much planned out the themes/ideas of a full 32-level Boom-compatible mapset for Doom II, and this would be the MIDI on one of the early maps, but the MIDI was never made, nor was the map. Not to say that this won't get used if I can make a return to mapping...

The initial plan was that after Born to do This, my next RS remix would be Impetuous, combining the track listed in the playlist with the well known ambient-esque version that played near crop circles. Those who know Impetuous will understand why I gave up trying to learn the piano part by ear.
So (and this was literally weeks after BtdT), I started considering alternative tracks to remake. I landed on Soul Wars, and actually made a start, before losing steam about 20 seconds in, and only this past week I started again. Here's the finished product, I hope you enjoy it, and if you're here because you like my RS remixes, I'm sorry this has been such a long wait.
As of my writing this, Grace D has done just 19 tracks for RuneScape, out of the 1000 that exist, but she really left quite an impression with this one.
I still want to remake Impetuous, so maybe I can upload that same time next year :)

About time I did something from Doom. So, this is a remaster of "The Demons from Adrian's Pen" from Doom's E2M2: Containment Area. I feel like I'm in a minority of people who like that level. Good for practising Tyson runs. Actually, about speedruns, a guy called Kristian Ronge managed to record a demo of E2M2. Doesn't sound like much of an achievement until you find out it was a Pacifist max. There's 100 or so monsters in E2M2, about 85 of which are imps which are very difficult to cause infighting between. I just don't quite understand how that's possible. I need to watch that demo one day, when I've got 51 minutes spare.
Anyway, this remaster doesn't change much, just gives it an ambient introduction, and changes the drum change near the end to make into a big loud piece. I feel like there should always have been something more to just changing the beat at that point in the original. I may have made the change a bit too sudden, so you may want to have your volume down just before it gets to that bit :P

Anyway, here I have taken the song and remixed it, making it slower, and hopefully larger-scale than the original. I'm not sure what genre you'd call this. Orchestral something. This is the biggest MIDI I have ever created, with the final sequence over 90KB. There are 22 separate tracks, utilising 14/16 allowed instruments, including drums. This is so I could attain a huge volume towards the end. It's taken about 2 weeks on and off to complete this, and I have to say, I'm very proud of the final result. I feel I made the right move using the Power drums for this track.
