#SteamInputThe End of Critical InputCritical Input2020-05-16 | Thanks so much to everyone who talked to me about the SC, helped me out with video and config making, and supporting the channel in every way. It has been an incredible journey from getting my first Steam Controller at the end of 2015, seeing Valve push out new features, making tutorials, and ultimately walking away from it all. The Steam Controller still holds a special place in my digital heart and I'd like to return to it one day. So here's to hoping that someone makes a way to use the SC without Steam. Two Pad Menu System: An Adaptation of Nested MenusCritical Input2020-03-06 | ...What Steam Input could learn from reWASD and JoyShockMapperCritical Input2020-01-28 | rewasd.com

I analyzed some of the shortcomings of that config in at this reddit thread (reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/8w3l21/rethinking_the_sc_for_shooters) and I talked about what I've tried over the last few weeks and where I'm at now in this reddit thread (reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/91aktn/unconventional_fps_config_update_1)
This is a quick video showing some of the progress I've made with this unusual config. I'm far from a pro player and I'm still adjusting to the high sensitivity so try not to focus on too much on the aim over-adjusting. This method is courtesy of Kevin Connolly and his guide can be found at steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=798840934
Just a note: this guide is aimed at using the original game files or Dos games purchased through GOG. The reason for this is that both of those formats have file format patterns and/or launch patterns. Dos games on Steam are a mess and have zero consistency so it's impossible to provide a single method that will work with every game and not require the user to understand how DosBox, .conf files, and batch files work. However, I am creating a follow up video that will present a way to handle Dos games purchased via Steam. Stay tuned for that.
