Facebook: http://facebook.com/gakmediaBrad Allan 2015 Action Design ReelGakAttack2015-02-18 | This is a compilation of Brad Allan's action design work over the past 10 years. He has worked with talented directors like Edgar Wright, Matthew Vaughn, & Guillermo Del Toro to help create the most stunning action scenes to date. His work in action design encompasses such films like Scott Pilgrim, Kick-Ass, Pacific Rim, and most recently, Kingsman Secret Service. Brad's roots in action go back to the Jackie Chan Stunt team, where Jackie took him in as a mentor and taught him everything he knew about making exceptional action scenes in which he applies this knowledge into today's current films.
I was very honored that Brad had asked me to build his Action Design Reel as I have worked with him on several pre-visualizations for feature films, learnt so much about building unique action sequences, and hope to continue working with him in the future.

I feel like I'm slowly leveling up on my journey as a filmmaker so I wanted to use this #inamustang opportunity to give you guys an idea of what inspired me to keep doing what I do. Also, I wanted to show everyone some concepts of what I'd like to achieve in the near future for my own original films. After dwelling in action for a while now, I'm eager to tell stories about incredible people doing inspiring things with their lives. Hopefully it can inspire you to do something amazing with your life. =)

Let me know your thoughts on these kinds of videos! It allows you guys to get to know me better and also I'd like to have you guys engaged in conversation as well! (Short films will still be coming! Patience!)
Imagine how lame a movie like The Hobbit would be without the dedicated work of Visual Effects Artists! Let's give them some recognition! (Look up Weta Digital as they were truly wizards in developing the CG elements for The Hobbit movies!)

Let's get serious! Don't you just hate it when you get into a friendly competition and your pal ends up going into super serious mode and totally obliterates you in whatever sport or video game you're playing? It's okay because I do the same thing to my friends if I'm the better one, so it's karma =p.
So what's your favourite super move guys?! Personally Kaioken from Dragon Ball has gotta be one of my most coolest moves in my books. I love the red aura, and the intensity it brings. SSJ was always too cool for my liking... =p
Now that my knee is recovering well, I'm focusing on getting back into overall shape. I struggle with staying consistent like everyone else. But working out with friends keeps me motivated and we can motivate each other. Diet-wise I'm okay, that burger I ate for the video was pretty nasty... I used to have a weakness for fast food, but for the past year I haven't really craved it much anymore. Well let's hope for a healthy end to 2013 okay? CHEERS guys!

Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/gakmedia Twitter: http://twitter.com/iamgak Instagram: http://instagram.com/gakattackBack To School BullyGakAttack2013-08-28 | It's Back to School! Let's go back to when Gak was in school and encountered a thick-headed bully. Dealing with bullies is never easy, and it's always going to be painful whether it be emotionally or physically. It's important to stand up for yourself right off the bat. If you let someone bully you once, they'll bully you all your life. If you make it difficult for them to bully you, majority of the time they will stop. Who knows, maybe you'll even become friends, never underestimate the power of friendship!
Schools may tell you to tell a teacher or an adult, but that's not how it works in the real world, most of the time you will have to deal with crappy people on your own. So it's best to make a habit of sticking up for yourself and others. But just remember, if you're in a dangerous situation involving guns or knives or anything of that sort, just give them what they want as it's not worth your throwing your life away over petty things.
Happy 25th Anniversary to Capcom! I'm glad to have grown up playing Mega Man and Mega Man X! This video is sort of my vision for a future holographic Mega Man app that would be in SNES graphics for some reason...

I usually fucking hate it when it snows because of all the traffic, shovelling, and coldness that comes with it. This year, I decided I'm going to change my perspective and have fun with the snow instead of stressing about it! It was awesome, and I haven't played in the snow for a long time! When it snows more, I'm probably going to be building some forts and snowmen!
Will the world end on December 21st? Most likely not! However, I feel the most important thing to ask ourselves is: "If the world ends today, will I be happy with how I lived my life?" If the answer is "NO", then you better make some changes and start making the most out of your LIFE. We only get one chance, so live it up, and do it right!

This app can capture some serious moments! For those of you using AE's Warp Stabilizer in post, this app actually does a better job at stabilization plus it does it in REAL-TIME.
Once you've practiced shooting on an iPhone for awhile, you'll begin to see that if properly used, you can get some glide-cam footage out of your iphone!

This is probably one of the best video's I've produced to date... I wish I had more time in post to make things better, especially the color grading, music, and some of the FX shots. Working on Ryu vs Scorpion was hell, but at the end of the day I'm happy with the final product.

My first BTS VIDEO! There was a lot of things I wanted to cover from the Dodgeball video but I felt this was the most applicable out of all the other VFX techniques I used. We really went into making this video with no idea what we were doing... It was pretty much made on the spot. We really goofed off quite a bit on this one... but I'm glad it worked out!
Voting period is complete Thank you for all the votes!!
Me and my buddies go up against some killer dodgeball players in our final match. The prize for this league was FREE all-you-can-eat wings and beer... Unfortuantely, Carl would go on to celebrate his victory alone and become a raging alcoholic.

ImprovinToronto ( http://www.youtube.com/user/ImprovInToronto?ob=0 ) held a massive Pillow Fight event, so I decided to join in the fun and figured I might as well make a pillow fight video while I'm at it! Gathered a buddy (Will Bokan!) and 3 strangers to shoot the video on the spot (pretty much improv'd on the spot!)... it was a really awesome experience and everyone was nice enough to make a circle around us so we could film.

This was a really fun shoot, I look tired as hell in the video though due to lack of sleep and me shooting the bacon end bit was at like 5 AM in the morning.
All in all, it was super fun ^^ and it's always fun to play around with guns! (can't shoot gun stuff outdoors since in Canada those laws are much more strict)
In a world where meat is illegal and SUPER valuable, I take on the job of being a Vegan Cop. However sometimes I get cravings that are difficult to control... could you live without meat?
This is a mashup of my favorite clips from the videos I've produced from 2010-2011.
Personal Message from GakAttack: What I do for this channel is not easy. Since last year, I just started learning VFX compositing, fight choreography, freerunning, tricking, stunts, and film making in general. I have no background in any of these and I'm still a noob (minus martial arts, I have a strong background in that). I couldn't even do a b-twist 6 months ago, but now i'm learning a crapload of cool moves.
I'm doing youtube fulltime now, and I have to keep learning new VFX tricks, sustain my training regiment to learn new flips/cool moves, and stay fit/healthy. It's time intensive, and training in any physical skill requires a lot of time and consistency... which tends to take away a lot of time from editing/VFX work. I'm still trying to find a balance in time between the two so please be patient with me!
Goals for 2012: - create a giant robot/mecha video - put in one or two big stunts in a video - improve plot/story in vids - improve acting/dialogue - improve weapon choreography (swords, staffs, etc) - add a bit more diversity to fight choreo - revamp my cosplay videos and make them more epic
2011 has been an interesting year, expect more and better things from me in 2012.
Thanks to all who have helped me this year, I will always be grateful! Lastly, thanks to YOU for watching my videos and sharing them. _______________________________________________________________
Welcome to a world where angels, demons, grim reapers and others of this kind coexist on earth, but they look just like regular people. Some lurk beneath the shadows, and others guide us towards the light.
This is an action packed series about a Demon Hunter named Gak. He is a mysterious character with many secrets to be discovered.
Each episode follows the hunt of a demon, each with unique powers of their own. Every episode will reveal small parts of the story. This way those who have not seen the series may enjoy the action, and those who want to follow the content will still get more.

'Jedi Ninjas' a Team2X production. Produced by James Mark and Yung Lee (GakAttack). Directed by James Mark and Justin Lovell. Action Designed by and Featuring Team2x. Visual FX by Yung Lee (GakAttack)
Jedi Ninjas was developed as a passion project to recreate the current style of Star Wars action seen in video games into live action. This style often combines elements of Force powers with the use lightsaber combat. As there are no upcoming live action Star Wars movies to this date, this was a project to make many of the fans' dreams into a reality.
Team 2X is a professional martial arts performance consisting of members with experience in Hollywood films and television. With their unique talent in creating mind blowing fight sequences and GakAttack's passion for combining Visual FX with Martial Arts action. Jedi Ninjas became the result of this collaboration.
The art of gun shooting for the purpose of action films. Also known as "Gun Kata" made famous by Equilibrium. I wanted to use a more dynamic style, involving more movement and less stationary shooting.
The movement of my head is changing as well as the positioning of my body to make it seem a bit more believable that the character is "dodging" bullets!
I will definitely be creating an action scenes utilizing Gun Fu sometime next year!
So I just thought I'd do a little video on picking up girls =p Not that I ever recommend doing this IRL o.O
If I have any real tips to give on picking up girls the main thing is just to be confident, be yourself, and don't be afraid to fail.
As for the girls wanting to get guys to notice them, just ask a lot of questions about the guy and fill their ego.... they'll eventually associate feeling good about themselves with your company!
This is a short teaser for an upcoming series I want to produce. It takes place in a world where angels and demons coexist on earth, but they look just like regular people. The story follows a character named Gak who searches for Demons to kill. However, Gak is no ordinary human and has some strange powers of his own.

Welcome to Empire City - a place where you can do whatever you want. This is a GTA inspired pilot for a web series involving brutal fight scenes, guns, chicks, drugs, and gangs. But most of all, it's a story about survival in an unforgiving world.

I went to FanExpo 2011 in Toronto to do another cosplay video... I heard there were supposed to be more cosplayers than Anime North... but unfortunately the day I went there wasn't many... I wanted to have DEADPOOL in this vid SO BADLY!
Anyway, same drill as before, everything is made up on the spot, no rehearsals!
For those of you who don't know, I'm very new to Parkour & Free-running... so that wall spin was the first time I did it on concrete. (Done it many times in the gym). So it was pretty difficult for me to overcome the fear... but I did it for you guys!! =)
This is just a concept for a video game that I think would be pretty fun and a good change from the FPS genre... Just a bunch of mini games in a free roaming city that is stylized like Mario's world. You can play with friends using your own custom avatars in a multiplayer world... Level ups, 1Ups, new gear for avatar, etc... It'd be cool if Nintendo made a game like this one day ^^ I miss the Mario RPG days =\

A ridiculous idea if Harry Potter and Jacky Chan were combined into one epic movie of magic and might! Thought this would be a fun idea since Harry Potter Deathly Hallows is coming soon and is also the final chapter.
I f*cking love Dragon Ball to death and I grew up with it... So when I got in touch with Film Maker Tom Antos, and pitched the idea to him, he loved it.
We both worked on the FX together for this one and I choreographed the action. Expect more collaborations with Tom in the future. ^^
