[WR] Mega Man X4 - Zero 100% Speedrun in 41:18 ThaRixers Speed Archive 2024-04-19 | After loading save states hundreds of times, refining my gameplay to a tee, and being super patient with the RNG, I finally got it.Overall a pretty solid run with amazing RNG, but 40:xx is very much on the table if someone wants to grind for it.The biggest time loss in this run was the second spider. I only got 2 extra hits, and had I gotten the full quick kill I would argue this run was bordering sub 41. But a lot of things went right. Got the first spider, general was nice, Stingray was tolerable and Sigma was decent too.I'm happy to put the game down for now and get back to working on videos.Thanks to SCWeeb1, Awsiel, Garuda, UberFamicom, UltraUberness, Bintendo, 8Bit, the rest of the X4 channel in the X discord. Mega Man X4 - Zero 100% in 41:49 [2nd Place] ThaRixers Speed Archive 2024-04-05 | Finally got 41:xx. Was long overdue. This jumps me from 4th to 2nd place, going past Luiz Miguel and Ch0cman.Run review:First real run with actual decent RNG.- Lost 5 on Dragoon, 5:01 is honestly pretty unacceptable, I usually get 4:54 to 4:58 every time. I just kept going for some reason- Good mushroom for my standards- First stingray trolled me- Nothing on Web Spider 1- Bad Slash Beast Stage- Iris/General/Boss Rush were fucking insane. Got best general right away and spider quick kill in the refight- Standard sigma 2 cycle to top it off. Didn't need any fancy RNG to pull it off. felt nice since I had about 5-7 runs that could have been 41 IF i got sigma 1 cycle.I was actually in a discord voice call when i got the time, but there were some pretty heated discussions so the vod is game audio only lol. Dogs Life - No Major Skips Speedrun in 1:28:36 [WR] ThaRixers Speed Archive 2023-10-08 | Made an improvement to the Big Field by including a route with 50 purples. The bone i cut for this was the 8 cyans in Lake Minniwahwah Café. The bone i cut was painstakingly slow, so it had to go. You essentially had to grab the 8 cyan scents, play the digging minigame, take control of the local dog, scare the birds away, and go through the cutscene with the waiter. I timed this route change to save around 30 seconds.Another change i made as to Chicken Farm, just a small routing difference resulted in about 15 seconds of time save. The last 3 minutes of time save was purely from better execution as i'm finally starting to memorize the route.twitch.tv/tharixer
