Ultimately, this was one of the hardest, and most fun endeavors I have done. Literally I spent several weeks working on it. Luck has it that I was actually able to find a way that works for figuring out the distance between all the marbles and the end of a segment separately without causing lag. I spent a week mulling over a possible fix to my original 50 line code, and found one that was faster and also contained fewer lines. Because of this, I had to delay this video a few weeks. Like I said, this was actually fun to do, and I hope I will be able to find other projects like this that I can work on and incorporate into a marble race. Algodoo Marble Race - Part 20 - Season 5 Erikfassett 2017-04-08 | It's Marble Race time!► Stuff!Here comes the return of the blue Sticky pad!And also the advent of the Rocket pad, but who cares about that?Anyways, just to get this out of the way, coding the rocket pad was a nightmare. One main problem with it I had was that I needed to attach marbles to the rocket so they don't fly out, but because Algodoo is weird, I needed to delete the marbles on collision and then respawn them. If I weren't to do that, the fixates wouldn't be able to spawn for some reason.So this means that rockets don't work very well with textured marbles. Luckily material marbles are fine, they just lose their texture, not color. Special marbles, on the other hand, lose their texture and have no color because their color is based on the texture itself. So all you get is just a white marble with a white trail instead of an actual marble. Rainbow is worse off for she loses her 7 tracer trail.There is also this weired bug where if the rocket touches the removal pad/laser, but the marble doesn't, the marble can't spawn a new rocket until it actually touches the pad/laser.Also, this video was recorded on April Fools, so Algodoo's april fools message kept popping up. Well, it didn't take that long, compared to other videos. Most of the wait hinges on Jack Spero and I making our parts fast. Sometimes, the transfer of maps can take a little bit, and sometimes one of us can just take a really long time to make a map.The next part of season 5 is in the making and another marble race that should come before. What I will be doing is making a model, or two. This video will be released on my second channel, Erikfassett 2. The resourcepack, named End-craft, is about changing a few textures in Minecraft while keeping the style, and also preserving some old, removed textures. This includes the Rose, now named poppy, the Emerald being changed into a green colored version of the removed Ruby item, all ores having the same style, easier to mix up lapis and diamond now, and changing the Granite texture so it is not freaking PINK, it is now a midnight blue color and looks amazing, similar to the Terrarian granite. The models just improve the feel of being in a blocky world, including 3-D ladders and rails. I don't think this resourcepack will be publicly available, and is probably going to be reserved for private use.
