Repair DeWalt Scroll Saw basic electrical problem Dons Woodies 2019-05-06 | My DeWalt DW788 scroll saw quit working in the middle of a cut. Checked the fuse, but it was good. Checked the motor brushes, but they were good. Took the switch apart, but it checked OK. Found that there was no power getting to the switch at all.So, started taking it apart, and in the video you will see what the problem was. A wire connection just fell off. Not sure why because it was nice and tight when I put it back on.
Failed (so far) musical instrument Dons Woodies 2019-04-16 | So, I saw this kind of thing at the Pittsburgh Aviary a couple years ago and always wanted to try one. Now, the one they had was a lot bigger. think part of my mistake here was either the wrong wood (this is just a cut up 2 x 4) or the pieces are too small. Probably have to go back and take another look at what was there.Either way, some adjustments to these pieces may yield some sort of sound besides "thump-thump". We shall see.Oh, and sorry for the vertical format and all the crap in the background.

New keyless drill press chuck Dons Woodies 2019-01-16 | I bought a new chuck for the Drill press since the original one was a POS. This one is keyless and runs much truer. Sorry about the mumbling - gotta watch that.Oh, forgot to mention that the chuck is from Woodcraft. It's their Woodriver brand. Comes with both the chuck and the arbor. Fits the Craftsman 15" floor model perfectly.
Rag in a can Dons Woodies 2018-12-13 | A rag in a can oiler ala Paul Sellers. First saw this in one of Paul Sellers Youtube videos. Used for giving the sole of a handplane just a touch of oil to make it slide across the wood easier. I used Camilla oil, but 3-in-1 oil would also work.
