Lord - LeathercraftTrying to answer some questions in one video about French-style saddle stitching.
But it might need a full YouTube video to frame all the small little things to know about stitching.
Questions I've been asked: - how to avoid piercing the thread?
Best thing is to put the thread at the opposite side of where you are going to pass the needle. To do so put pression on the thread, and with the needle go to the opposite side of the / shaped hole.
- how to have a Z shaped stitching line one both sides?
You need to do the small "pass the left thread over the right needle" before closing each point. This will force the thread to go slightly toward the top of the hole on the back side.
The important thing if that whatever pattern you chose to adopt on a stitch line, keep it the same all the way to create a homogeneous line.
See you all! And as usual, ask anything ๐ Geoffrey
