Hand & Half Sword Techniques : Martial Arts & ExerciseeHowSports2026-09-26 | Hand & Half Sword Techniques : Martial Arts & ExerciseUnleashing Power and Speed Secrets from a Boxing ProeHowSports2023-05-31 | Hi, I'm Mickey Demos Jr. here at Biscayne Boxing and Fitness Club in Miami. Today we're going to demonstrate punch, speed, and power workout. And our instructor is an expert in power and speed is Danny LaCheri. He's going to commentate while he's in action. Hi, today we're going to be working on drills. Now anytime you're working on a drill, what you're trying to do is focus on a specific part of your training specific skill. In this case we're doing speed and power. This drill is going to encompass both. Generally, you just want to keep that in mind. You want to keep all your other things in order to keep your hands up. You're still moving your head, but you want to focus on the task at hand. In this case, power. I get covered up, I get low, I use my legs. Not too complicated. I keep breathing. I use my power. For angles, coming from the hips, and the weights. Incorporate a little bit of the speed. You want to loosen up, stay loose. Personally, I take some space since I'm a taller, longer fighter. When I'm working power, I'm going to get low, use my legs, bend in, I'm going to work my angles, transfer my weight. Not only is that good at the defense, we're avoiding a punch, but then all my weight is here, and I'm going to take all that weight and turn it back behind the punch. So not only do I avoid a punch, the counter actually comes with more power. So I'm here, I'm near, underneath, around, wherever it may be. I lean, fire back. All my body comes back up behind me. And one punch will work off the other. I turn this one over, weight comes here, come back, come back. When focusing on power, you want to remember that all your power comes from your hips and your core and your waist. Not only do I transfer my weight to avoid punches, the slit, when my weight comes over on this leg, then I'm going to take all that weight up on my toe and turn it back behind the punch. So not only am I going to avoid a counter punch, but all my weight is going to come with it. So you step over, get a little low, and on that pop up, that explosion is where it comes from. Relax, use your speed, use your range. Okay, come in, this is it. That's really work. Arm, angles, side step. And work with power, speed and power.Uncovering the Surprising Secrets of the Short Serve in BadmintoneHowSports2023-05-30 | Hi, I'm Nia Tran and I'm the coach here at East Bay Bamington Association. Today we're going to talk about the short serve. The things you need for the short serve would be a racket, a birdie and of course a proper standard court to practice on. Where you would stand to serve, you would stand closer towards the front baseline with your right leg forward. To do the backhand short serve, start by having your backhand grip, meaning the thumb is on the flat end of your racket. Start by positioning the racket's head face down in front of you, like so. Next, put the birdie in front and in the middle of the racket. Make sure that you hold it by one of the feathers of the bird. So you have good control and feel of the bird. Once you put it in the middle, the serve starts as soon as you go forward with your racket. Meaning you can do anything else before that, but as soon as it goes forward, it has to be in one smooth motion and it cannot stop. So from here, push forward gently with your fingers and over the net. To do the forehand short serve, start by positioning your right foot in the back and your racket face down. From here, hold the bird with one feather in front of you, like so. Make sure the cork is facing downwards. After that, you'll drop the birdie first, swing forward and make sure the contact point is below your waist with the racket pushing forward, like so. For the forehand serve, same concept, make sure the contact point is below the waist. A general tip for beginners for short serves is when you begin, aim for the white tape on the net. This way you'll get your practice out and you'll get your practice getting it right over the tape. I'm Nia Tran and that was the short serve in Batman, both backhand and forehand for beginners.Uncover the Surprising Secrets of Knockout HitseHowSports2023-05-29 | Okay, what you basically want to do with that is target either his temple or his chin with the two soft spots where you want to hit somebody to knock them out.
