The Xbox Identity Crisis | The Current State of Xbox Series X is Pathetic & Phil Spencer Admits it Griffin Gaming 2022-11-23 | As a fan of many of Microsoft's franchises I feel like this video is some tough love directed at a company I really want to see do well in the gaming space but as of late just has not been delivering anything close to what customers deserve in the form of 1st party Microsoft Exclusive games.The Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X have been out on the market for a little over 2 years now and for the most part both consoles are genuinely great pieces of hardware for the price made even better by the amazing offering of Xbox Gamepass on either console that gives you access to all of Microsoft's First Party Xbox Exclusive games day one in addition to many AAA third party games as well. However, as of late Microsoft has had some genuine issues with their output of first party content from Microsoft Games Studios with 2022 having 0 new releases from microsoft's internal studios to compete with PS5 Exclusives like Horizon Forgotten West and God of War Ragnarok. While 2023 does have a few games in store, there really isn't much we know regarding what games microsoft plans to release outside of Starfield and Redfall. I think this highlights a bigger issue with Xbox's first party studios that even after bigger acquisitions like Bethesda and Activision Blizzard, the amount of games we have seen from Xbox has been relatively low and those games that we have gotten have been pretty mediocre at best especially compared to where the franchises sat years ago (ie. Gears of War and Halo). I think it is time to have an honest conversation about the current state of xbox. Instead of a Diablo 4 announcement fans received a cheap chinese mobile game in the form of Diablo Immortal and ever since then it has been nothing but scandal after scandal when it comes to Diablo Immortal. When the game finally released it was revealed that the game in true chinese mobile game fashion would require $500k to max out a character using the in game Gacha system to acquire gems. PS Plus Extra/Premium is Sonys Failure to Compete w/ Xbox Game Pass Griffin Gaming 2022-03-30 | PlayStation Plus Premium and PlayStation Plus Extra are the long rumored 'PlayStation Spartacus' which was supposed to be Sony's and the PS5's answer to Microsoft and their Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. However, with the announcement of the new ps plus essential, extra, and premium tiers they have landed with a resounding thud in comparison to what microsoft offers on their games subscription service. In a sense Sony is basically locking backwards compatibility behind a $18/month paywall where as microsoft allows you to basically play any game from any generation of Xbox console without any subscription necessary. On top of this PS3 backwards compatibility will only be available through cloud streaming which is incredibly disappointing to learn as PlayStation 3 Back Compat is on of the most requested features among PS4 and PS5 users alike. Overall this attempt to Revamp PS+ is a step in the right direction in order to compete with Microsoft and Xbox with Game Pass Ultimate but does not even come close to offering the value that Microsoft provides consider Sony will not be adding their First Part PlayStation Exclusives Day and Date to PS Plus Premium or Extra which makes Game Pass Ultimate just that much more appealing from a consumer standpoint. For the most part Halo Infinite is an incredible well built game in terms of gameplay and the feel of combat, but the Halo Infinite progression system and battle pass have come under a lot of fire for being insanely difficult to level up since all progression is based on challenge completion which leads into the largest issue with this game. Some challenges are game mode specific and as of right now, unlike every other Halo game that has ever released, Halo Infinite does not even have the ability to pick which game mode you want to play forcing people to play endless games of oddball and CTF when they simply want to or need to thanks to the challenge based progression play something else. That is my biggest issue with Halo Infinite and is why as things are right now I have no real desire to play the game until 343 Industries implements the ability to play the game modes you actually want to. 343 Industries has already announced that Halo Infinite will not be receiving dedicated playlists for even the most fundamental game modes to the Halo franchise like slayer not coming until 2022. Battlefield 2042 is a Broken Mess | Battlefield 2042 Beta was a Complete Failure for DICE & EA Griffin Gaming 2021-10-15 | The Battlefield 2042 Open Beta was nothing short of a complete and total failure for EA and DICE as BF 2042 looked like a buggy, broken, unoptimized piece of crap which is a shame because at it's core Battlefield 2042 was incredibly fun and has a massive amount of potential. But there is a certain standard I hold myself to and regardless of my own personal bias I need to be able to "Keep that same energy". I figured I would make a video because in all honesty in it's current state it is safe to say Battlefield 2042 SUCKS! The game runs terribly even on my 3090, the server lag and rubberbanding issues are rampant, and on top of that the game is littered with pop in and textures just flat out not rendering. Battlefield 2042 is doing a great job of holding to the Battlefield franchise's well earned nickname of Betafield because this game is no no state whatsoever to be launching in just over a month. DELAY Halo Infinite NOW or Xbox Series X will FAIL!....In Defense of Halo Infinite Griffin Gaming 2021-09-01 | Halo Infinite has been surrounded in controversy and delays ever since it was announced to be coming to the Xbox Series X. Now there are people demanding that 343 Industries and Microsoft Delay this game for the Xbox Series X and PC because the campaign portion of the game will not be launching with co op on day one and will be added later to Halo Infinite in the Season 2 Update for the game. Overall this has to be one of the dumbest controversies surrounding the game considering the fact that you can literally just wait to buy the campaign when they add co op to the game and play the free to play Halo Infinite Multiplayer. Of course we have had people turn this into an opportunity to bring the Console War BS into the fray stating that Xbox Series X will fail because Halo Infinite was the only game Microsoft had to compete against Sony and the PS5 and now that the game will not launch with campaign co op or forge it will be a complete and total failure, which is laughable at best.
