Willy Fink wins 2024 Baltimore Marathon WBAL-TV 11 Baltimore 2024-10-19 | Not only did Willy Fink run his first marathon in Baltimore ... he won. The Baltimore Running Festival kicked off Saturday morning with runners from 47 U.S. states and 19 countries. Just more than two hours into the 2024 Baltimore Marathon, there was one sole runner immediately followed by no one. Fink, of Cincinnati, was running a sub-4-minute mile in his first marathon as he pulled away from the pack about an hour and 34 minutes in. He came off an Achilles injury last year but made it look easy in Baltimore. Baltimore City fire officials said units were called around 3:54 p.m. to the 600 block of southbound Cathedral Street near Centre Street for a crash. The two injured people were taken to hospitals in stable condition, fire officials said. SkyTeam 11 reported that the trash truck struck three vehicles before crashing into the building, displacing multiple people.
