In late 1987, Ambiance had just retired as 1986 International Champions. The quartet performed on the Elkridge Chorus Show, under the direction of Jackie Grant. It was one of those shows where weather almost prohibited the quartet from arriving - in fact the show had already started when they arrived, having had to drive from Newark to Elkridge because of cancelled flights. With only time to climb into their costumes, and no pre-show warm-up, Ambiance performed. The quartet was active from 1986 to 1995. Members are Shelly Sweet Rubenic (tenor), Elizabeth Hardcastle (lead), Sandi Wright (baritone) and Diane Huber (bass).
