Here is my inspiration for this tutorial, the look is smooth, sleek and chic. I think that's a headband as opposed to actual hair whereas my style uses hair to make the band.
My adaptation is much more relaxed and carefree but could easily be 'styled up' with pomade and accessories for a night out - no problem at all

The look is great of you haven't had a chance to wash your hair in the morning - no worries if you have day old pin curls - frizz - whatever. I think if you have straight hair then you may well want to use some texturising spray or something to give your hair that little bit of 'stick' but other than that and maybe a little hairspray I don't think this style requires anything special.
Definitely good for every day vintage styling, make the braid smaller for a less 'obvious' look if you like.
