(this gameplay is not by me btw lmao, I fuckin earned my intro area clear on hard mode thank you very much)
so I finally fuckin finished something chiptune for once in my life, this is a cover of the music that plays during the intro and a couple of other places in the absolutely stellar game Nier: Automata (my current GOTY, can't spoil anything but it's seriously some of the most impressive presentation I've ever seen in a game)
my initial reasoning for covering this track was that I noticed that it doesn't have a fakebit version during hacking sequences, which I thought was kind of weird since all of the major themes in this game have a seamless transition from the original music to the hacking music (and vice-versa). so I went ahead and made this back in July for FCP3 which took me probably about a week or so of on-and-off work
for those interested in the technical stuff, the expansions used here are VRC6 and 6 channels of N163. I would've went for all 8 channels but I started running into wave position errors (this technically doesn't run perfectly on hardware according to what I've been told lmao). so I decided to cut out the last two channels which were only used for echoing some other channels to give the track some more layers, but I think this still sounds pretty good without the bit of extra fluff i wanted to add in
overall I was pretty satisfied with how this turned out, expect more from this soundtrack in the future because I fuckin love this game lmao
enjoy!

I did NOT create this video to encourage people to attack the owners of the page, I merely want to expose the dirty "business" they are conducting and my personal opinion of such practices.
Also to note: Gabe's owner did not encourage his fans to attack DDFDD and instead asked for his fans not to.
If any of the owners of the page decide to come forward with their own evidence (whether for or against their own page), then please do so. Also if there are any mistakes I have made, please let me know.

Ever since famicompo 9 I've been a huge fan of DJ Bouche, and seeing a track from him for this game was quite the surprise.

I really like this one, it goes to show how you can expand a short theme into something much more. Also I get reeeeally slight disasterpeace vibes from this, just sayin'.

Honestly just as good, if not better, than the original mix of this song. I hope virt plays this live like he did with the Whoa I'm in Space Cuba chip mix at some point

SO fucking good, always have been a big fan of coda. I totally get steely dan vibes from this too, which makes it even better. Also I can't remember for the life of me what song 2:08 is referencing with that set of chords there (EDIT: it's Fool in the Rain)

I was literally expecting a dubstep track (or at least a dubstep breakdown in one of the tracks) in this OST, and I can safely say I was pleasantly surprised lol.

The song's name is meant to be a reference to Water World Saus (as well as for the sake of 2 inside jokes but who cares), a track from the SNES game The Great Battle IV (a pretty good game actually, think of MMX). I drew some inspiration from that song, especially in the beginning, so I figured I'd name it as such, lol.
Oh, and as for the picture of Super Mario Pole Dancer (GREAT game) that I used, I got that from a rather horrible site: http://vgboxart.com/view/26918/super-mario-pole-dancer-cover

FT Forums (with DL links to the original .xm, .ftm, and .nsf):
Anyway, It's a cover of a guitar duet I heard nearly a year and a half ago, and I decided to cover it soon after. It's been long enough that I can't even remember how much time I spent working on it, though I do remember it took several hours to hear out all the notes. The audio and video is from the program Hoot (thanks to Rushjet for his latest vid since it introduced me to this nice program), which is a music player that can play nsf's, spc's, and more (though I can't remember what else).
Enjoy!
Anyway, I started this one a few days ago, put it down, then got around to finishing it today. it wasn't really difficult, but this also marks the first time I ever used VRC7 (and now looking back I totally should have used VRC7 for Point of Return in famicompo 8, damn). I can't say I'm all too fond of the way the volumes work in VRC7, but I tried to work with it the best I could. I also took a couple liberties with the song (mainly the chords) so hopefully it doesn't detract from my cov as a whole.
Enjoy!
Edit: Download links have been updated to my dropbox uploads, which have also been around for the same time as the former mediafire ones lmao

Hello! I spent a little less than 2 hours today finishing this up. I figured I might as well remix it in famitracker since I ytpmv'd it about a week ago, lol (found here if you care: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93hh-rCj19Q)
It's a VRC6 remix of Underworld Map theme (Track 03) from a rather unheard of Doraemon RPG called Attack of the Giga Zombie (that's the translated name, seeing as it was never released in the US, lol).
I took quite a few liberties with the song actually, especially during the galloping triplet part. The percussion is also totally different, although it's identical to what I did in my ytpmv. Oh, and it sounds much better in NSF form, as NSFplug is gay and plays everything too loud to effectively hear out the percussion and triangle channel.
Enjoy!

This took about 2-3 hours since I had to figure out which duty cycle to use for each bass note, lmao. It was kind of annoying in that respect, but ultimately I had fun making this. Kind of repetitive with the percussion though :/
Keygen music translates pretty well into VRC6 though, so I wouldn't be surprised to find myself looking at other keygen songs to cover as well.

Here's another quick one that I finished a while ago. This was my first experiment into 900 BPM + 1 instrument covers. Luckily this track was pretty short, so I didn't have much of a problem listening the volume envelopes out.

Yet another one that I've had finished for a while. Pretty short, but it should be accurate enough (despite 4xy vibrato teehee). Also, there seems to be something wrong with that vibrato in the video, although it should sound fine in the source files.
