I can say with a reasonably high degree of certainty that 1.9 isn't coming before Christmas c:
Aside from some of the silly features they added in the snapshots (i.e. the weapon cool-down which should be turned off by default), there are also some of the funniest bugs I have ever encountered in any game :p

A super compact storage silo built by me and Razor Sharp! It has some nice add-ons as well, it has a feature where you can access the items within it by retracting a block with a piston, and has a quick store-away mechanism where you just place your items in a chest and let the machine do the rest :)
