For a century, the University of Kentucky Research and Education Center in Princeton has stood at the heart of agricultural innovation, resilience and service. Established in 1925 on 400 acres donated by Western Kentucky farmers, UKREC has grown into a 1,652-acre hub for cutting-edge research and Extension work that continues to shape agriculture around the world.
This centennial video tells the story of how a community’s vision became a century-long legacy. Through every challenge, including the devastating 2021 tornado, the Princeton Center has remained a place where science meets the soil, where research becomes real-world practice, and where Kentucky’s farming future continues to grow stronger.
From pioneering no-till farming to advancing grain and forage research, UKREC’s legacy is rooted in partnership, innovation and community. The next century begins with the same promise: to serve, to teach and to grow Kentucky together.
