We have lived together and lived in different parts of the country, and found ourselves fortuitously in the same town for a few months this summer. We decided to record an album, along with our friend Sasha Hsuczyk on fiddle. Our sound is rooted in oldtime music from the American South and also influenced by shape note music, early country and bluegrass, as well as a few other genres. All songs are traditional except where noted, and all the shape note music is from the 1991 edition of the Sacred Harp (Denson book.)
