👉 Spoiler: with the new Dive Case PRO, the image sharpness is next level.
And if you clip the selfie stick to your BCD and let the camera hover a few feet above you… it creates a wild 3rd-person view that looks like something straight out of a video game.

From toxic online dive forums where new divers get roasted, to dive shop gatekeeping, gear snobs, the ever-present nitrox police, and pointless “specialty” courses that teach you nothing… we’re talking about the stuff that actually ruins the fun for people who just want to dive.
I’m not holding back on this one. If you’ve ever felt shut down, priced out, or talked down to in the dive community, this video is for you.
👉 Drop your own “things you hate about diving” in the comments — let’s start a conversation that makes diving better for everyone.
⚓️ If you’re new here, I’m Zach — I’m a technical diver, rebreather instructor, and gear nerd. This channel is all about cave diving, advanced scuba gear, rebreather diving, and dive adventures. Subscribe for more no-BS dive talk and real-world gear reviews.
Piece by piece, I’ll explain what works, what doesn’t, and how you can save money while still getting stable footage and strong underwater lighting. Whether you’re new to underwater videography or looking to upgrade your current rig, this simple build is a great place to start.
PS All the "Kit Dive" gear has been rebranded to sea frogs. I purchased my kit dive stuff through seafrogs originally, so as far as I know they are the same company.

This rig works great for recreational diving, technical diving, and even rebreather or sidemount setups. It’s light, modular, and built to get cinematic underwater footage without costing as much as a full DSLR rig.

We had planned for a simple current dive, but when the water pulled us in the wrong direction, everything changed. Surface marker buoys weren’t enough. The boat couldn’t see us. We were truly lost at sea.
It took a Nautilus Lifeline distress call, a passing snorkel boat, and even the U.S. Coast Guard to get us out safely. Without that beacon, I know some of my divers wouldn’t have made it back.
This is part of my series on scary dive stories, where I share the real dangers, close calls, and lessons learned from my time as a rebreather diver, instructor, and guide.
🌊 If you’re a diver, remember: the ocean always wins. Carry the right safety gear, respect the conditions, and never underestimate the current.

I had no business being on this advanced dive charter — but thanks to a combination of overconfidence, miscommunication, and inexperience, I found myself nearly 100 feet down, burning through my air, and realizing way too late that I was in serious trouble.
This was early in my diving journey, long before I became a technical diving instructor. But it stuck with me — and it changed how I think about diving, forever.
If you're a new diver, thinking about going deeper, or just curious about what can go wrong under the surface... this video is for you.

This is the true story of how I almost had a fatal **near death** on my 13th **scuba diving**. I had no business being on this advanced dive, and I found myself in serious trouble while **diving**. This was early in my **scuba** journey, long before I became a **dive instructor**.
I helped develop this new “battery thirds” feature for DiveX scooters. Hold the trigger down for 10 seconds before your dive, and your scooter calculates your battery into thirds—then alerts you each time you burn through 1/3. That gives you a clear turn point and a safety margin to get home, even in current or unexpected conditions.
This is now standard on all new DiveX scooters, and owners of Bluetooth models can upgrade to add it too.
In this video, I explain how it works, why it matters, and how it can help you avoid ending your dive with a long, wet regret.
