Their crazy 20 minute fireworks show, choreographed to music, was absolutely huge! With the help of my spotter Niels Meerdink, I managed to capture pretty much every moment of it, and a lot of the footage was used in the official Defqon.1 aftermovie. I also got to film the 50 meter high, light and laser equipped main-stage on the day before it opened. All if this ended up fitting nicely together in this FPV-only edit. Enjoy! DJI O3 Airunit | A Pro FPV Pilots Honest Review Shaggy FPV 2022-11-23 | DJI sent me this O3 air unit and asked me to do a review. That's not my thing, and I didn't want to do it unless I could be fully honest about what I think. So I did, and hopefully this will be useful information for some people out there! There are some drawbacks to the system for professional usage which makes it not usable for a lot of situations for us. Yet it's still an insane system for livestreams or for pilots starting out in cinematic FPV.*EDIT*Some information I feel like I cut out too much of in hindsight. There is more reason why I don''t switch right away with all my air-units: Even when not using the system to record, I feel like it has some drawbacks. the super wide 16-9 view leaves less vertical visibility for the pilot, and when using a gopro to record, doesn't get close to matching what you are actually recording. This is not ideal for the pilot, or the director who's watching the screen and doesn't know if a subject will be in frame on the gopro or not. Besides that, the lens warps on the sides when doing quick yaw turns or orbits (similar to Polar units) which is kinda trippy and not helping spacial awareness for me. It's fine when going straight or slow, but not in faster turns. I think this is because fisheye is fully removed, which makes sense for recording, but not for flying.Both of these points are basically natural compromises of a device that's made for recording, which are not so bad when you actually record with it. Marjan Island Resort UAE | FPV Drone Tour Shaggy FPV 2020-03-06 | During one of my Dubai trips for Choppershoot.com, we spent a day flying around some of the luxury resorts on Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah UAE. One of the resorts, the Hilton Double Tree, happens to be the single biggest hotel in the middle east with 700+ rooms, and the second resort, Rixos, gets close with 600+ rooms. Both resorts are pure luxury, with countless outdoor and indoor pools, playgrounds, watersports and huge private beaches. We were not lucky with the weather, since it's normally sunny 95% of the time and we managed to catch that one overcast day. Especially the high winds made the shoot quite difficult at some point and forced me to use the bigger drones for a lot of these shots. But in the end the client is happy with the results and so am I. Viking Valley Fall Shaggy FPV 2019-08-14 | Norway is beautiful. Amazing steep rock walls, fjords, glaciers and beautiful waterfalls around every corner. DRL 2018 Level 6 BMW World | Golden Heat Shaggy FPV 2018-12-03 | My best result in DRL this season, taking second place in level 6! Awesome experience battling Dunkan though this epic track in the BMW Welt in Munich Germany, dodging quite expensive looking BMW cars. After battling my way into the top 3, this was the last all or nothing battle for the podium. Dunkan was faster in lap one, but I managed to catch up at the end of the second lap, resulting in a super close finish!Congrats to Dunkan for taking first and Nubb for taking 3rd! DRL 2018 | Level 5 Allianz Riviera | Finals Heat 1 Shaggy FPV 2018-11-19 | A full 2 lap heat through the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice, France, battling Dino (green), Gab707 (yellow) and Rafa (orange) to the finish gate.After a slow start and a little mistake exiting the upper level, I had to start chasing the top 3. In the Players Tunnel I managed to get a good line, overtaking Dino, Gab and Rafa in one go. I held on to this first position for most of the second lap after that, until the Players Tunnel on lap 2. This time I went too fast in and missed my line completely, giving Gab a big lead 2 turns before the finish. Chasing Smoke || Shaggy vs SirCrashaLot Shaggy FPV 2018-10-28 | After Dutch Nationals finals, Sir. Crashalot and me decided to process our defeat by ripping up the track during the GoPro run! The Ridge || FPV Mountain Cruising Shaggy FPV 2018-10-23 | We went on a hike and I decided last minute to take my quad with me, just in case. At the top we encountered this beautiful place with a ridge which just couldn't be left unflown. Completely unplanned, but it couldn't have worked out better!There is some slight jitter when watching this full screen, something I just couldn't get rid of while tuning this quad. Freedom Proximity - BorisB Tribute Shaggy FPV 2018-07-08 | BorisB has stopped flying recently, but back in the day when only a hand full of people were flying FPV, he inspired a lot of others to go out and fly. His 'Freedom Proximity' video being the most famous. So I decided to go back to this legendary spot and try to re-do what he did.We arrived at the spot with low expectations, since it was raining during our first hour there. We almost left, but decided to wait it out a little longer. When it cleared up and even the sun came through, everything worked out! Managed to do a bunch of freestyle lines I'm happy with, record a LOT of proper chase footage and my one freestyle quad kept working properly. DRL Racer3 Training with MRO & QuadcoptersEnzo Shaggy FPV 2018-02-12 | Preparing for the upcoming DRL season by taking this 1kg quad to all the local races. Flies really different, but a lot faster than I expected! Ended up only about 2 seconds behind the fastest ultralight quads on the track (on a 24 second lap) . PepperFIISH Micro || MRO Build Day [DVR] Shaggy FPV 2017-11-07 | The local group organised a Pepperfish build day, so I couldn't resist to join in. Aquaplaning || Delta Cup 2017 || Full Throttle Drone Racing Shaggy FPV 2017-09-15 | Some footage from the Delta Cup fun race, the day before the Dutch Nationals. The whole track was basically one big puddle most of the day, but managed to keep all the hardware running despite submerging it a few times. Petty cool daytime track but also a fancy little LED track that worked out quite good! Unfortunately we had only one or two lipo's on it before the LED track had to be broken down again due to the overly strict regulations in the Netherlands! NK Drone Race | Final Run | 2nd Place Shaggy FPV 2017-09-10 | The Dutch Nationals are over! After almost half a year of rannkings, everything came down to these final 3 laps. I was flying pretty well during the finals, even though I was struggling with the strong and changing winds, I made a few mistakes in the last lap that got Sir Crashalot to take over the lead. Team MRO Carnival Special | EPIC race track Shaggy FPV 2017-03-02 | A full day of blasting at the MRO training hall resulted in some nice race footage and lots of crashes. LED Ring of Death | EpiPod Prototype | Drone Racing Shaggy FPV 2016-12-09 | Managed to fly exactly one lipo with this new frame I got from Mr EpiQuad, before my FC gave up. After a few laps I got the hang of it and managed to put up a nice fight with Maxim Beers of Team MRO, who also took his awesome new LED ring gate. Drones at TT Circuit Assen | FPV Freestyle Shaggy FPV 2016-11-21 | We were very lucky getting permission to fly (and drive) around the TT circuit in Assen during this nice but cold day.. It's normally a no-drone zone but they made a rare exception for us! Super fun to have the whole track available with a bunch of good pilots. MRO Autumn Meeting | FPV Racing Shaggy FPV 2016-10-18 | I always have a blast at big FPV meetings. This time I decided to test the new Hero 5 cam and I got enough footage to make a nice little edit.
