Old World Seattle: Architectures History Problem - PART 1 of 2 Marvelous Old World 2023-01-26 | In this 1st of a 2 part exploration of Seattle's early years (mid-1800's to early-1900's)--analyzing historic photographic and written records along side population statistics and infrastructure development--Marvelous Old World asks the following: How were so many magnificent and sophisticated masonry buildings designed, engineered, and constructed in so little time, in such remote locations, with so few people and resources at hand? Why did the business districts in Seattle, Ellensburg, and Spokane all burn down just months apart in the pivotal year that Washington gained statehood--1889? Why are we always told that the massively destructive city infernos which plagued the U.S. in the late 1800's & early 1900's were the result of shoddy wood construction prior to building codes, when photographs clearly show block after block of incinerated brick and stone ruins--themselves suggesting an advanced urban architecture? Why is it that the further back you go in Seattle's history, the more beautiful and marvelous the buildings and city-scape appears to be? (Apologia: This was recorded on a laptop while I was snowed in a hotel room during a construction project in Colorado. Electric Architecture of the Old World Marvelous Old World 2023-02-22 | Beyond the AD/DC wars of the late 1800's with arch-nemesis Thomas Edison over which current to run through wires newly powering cities and World Fairs alike, Nikola Tesla was determined to demonstrate the capacity to transmit wireless electricity freely by way of his copper coiled towers, connecting a circuit between heaven and earth, between sky and ground, drawing energy from the extant and omnipresent aether. The question I am raising is: Did the ancients and ancestors know the secrets of the electric universe and weave into the fabric of their architecture--sacred and otherwise--this gnosis, rooted as it is in teachings of the esoteric and alchemical, the principles of principals and sages? Did advanced, old world buildings made of charge producing, piezoelectric stone shaped into sacred geometric, self-similar fractal forms, and gilded with charge conducting precious metals on rooftops, domes and spires--their towers, peaks, bells, and organs still intact--vibrate with life, lifting the spirit and consciousness within its occupants while projecting outwardly through cymatic portals of stone and prismatic leaded glass (itself a silica cousin of quartz) as soundwaves rippling ever outward into the air, as light stirs up the aether, illuminating a path homeward to the divine? Consciousness Is Primary Marvelous Old World 2023-02-16 | Modern theoretical scientism remains mired in a materialist quagmire--preoccupied with locating some irreducible particle, unable to reconcile relativity and quantum mechanics or simply explain how life came from non-life, and stupefied when confronted with the "hard problem" of consciousness. *It is looking through the wrong end of the telescope.* In this first of a new series of conversations, I am joined by my great friend Keith Joseph @thelivingchaos6640 to explore the notion of consciousness itself begetting material existence. A few months later, Washington Territory gained its statehood. Are these events somehow related, or just a quirky coincidence of errant glue pots, strong winds, and stubbornly low water pressure? Also, we have always been told that the infernos which plagued U.S. cities in the late 1800's were the unfortunate result of pre-fire code, ramshackle wood construction.
