Alaskan Tapes
Alaskan Tapes - Simple Math (Something Ephemeral #7) [Official Audio]
updated
This track started with just a few simple drones that I had abandoned back in October of 2022. After we completed 'After The Flood' LUCHS had asked if I had any other tracks we could work on, and I found this one collecting dust in my hard drive. I sent it over to him, and a few days later he had sent it back to me pretty much the way you're hearing it now. This was a quick piano improv to him, but I loved it.
Hope you do too!

Ever since originally releasing Places on You Were Always An Island I had wished it was higher quality, now with a new piano I decided to re-record a few older tracks, those tracks will be coming out every two weeks for the next 2 months. Be on the look out!

Hope you all enjoy!
The original plan was to play it in a garden, but in Canada in the middle of November that wasn't really possible. It was a nice day so I took it to the beach, set up a little stone pad to keep the sand away, and put down my pedals and tried it out. It worked really well I think!
Something I love about tape is the ease of detuning. As you hear in the second half that low detuning is so nice and satisfying. I may have to turn it into a lutes jennings track.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for listening!

This is just a quick jam of the bones of Library Fields, this track is essentially a bunch of piano loops stacked on top of each other, as you see in the video.
Nothing's perfect in this one, just had some fun and made a video.
Hope you enjoy!

Here's a new one for you all, a little layered piano track called Library Fields. A little while ago I started messing around with layered piano (You can also see it in my Piano Day video), and I came up with this for the new album.
If you write music on the piano I highly recommend it, it's so fun and satisfying when you get it right!

This is a little live version of Them that Chantal and I recorded recently.
Just want to clarify the xylophone section;
My Organelle is recording the Xylophone hits into the native Sampler, which I'm then running into the looper, that's why the sound of the bells doesn't come in until later on.
In case you missed it, you can also listen to the official version of Then herE:

Just wanted to post an extended version of that little ambient jam from Instagram.
I recently made some upgrades that I'm pretty excited about! Grabbed this Gretsch G5655TG in Aspen Green that I'd been looking for for a while, as well as this Boss RC-500 looper, and Mission Engineering battery powered power supply that Bedroom introduced me to, this allows me to bring my rig outside (very excited about this in particular), so here's a quick little ambient jam I made the other day when the sun was out
I'm hoping to do more like this with playthroughs for the new album!
Gear used:
Gretsch G5655TG
Boss RC 500
Lehle Volume pedal
Mission Engineering 529I Rechargeable power supply (very excited about this one, it makes my whole set up portable.)

Critter and Guitari Organelle
Another Conversation Piece here. Number 11 this time! It feels so great to have a place to just jam and make fun videos without any pressure.
Lots more coming, but they'll stay on my hard drive until the timings right!
Hope you enjoy!
Gear Used:
Teenage Engineering OP-1 running through the Microcosm
Critter and Guitari Organelle running through Shallow Water

Lyrics:
Can you feel the fallout
On the corner of Fifth and Rome
All signs say to go now
I know, I know
Of all the things you've thrown out
It's the hardest thing that you've known
They never taught you to know how
I know, I know
Never heard until you got loud
Now you're hiding what you've shown
Only confess now that it's found
I know, I know
Know this is always passing
Know it will always end
Know this is all I'm asking
Stay with me until the end
Been playing around with texture and rhythm rather than melody lately and having a lot of fun with it. Decided to record this small video for Piano Day.
Hope you enjoy!

Conversation Pieces are back! It's been a while, so if you don't know these are just some smaller "Jam" pieces that I post for fun.
Over the last couple years I've picked up a few pedals, synths, and workstations, so I have a bunch of more recorded which will be coming out over the first half of the year.
Hope you enjoy!

We filmed Under the Viaduct in an area that was once known as Hogan's Alley. Hogan's Alley was named after Ben Hogan and was known to be where the first Black community settled in Vancouver in the early 1900's. Sadly, the City of Vancouver eventually levelled the area to build the Georgia Viaduct between 1967-1971, which destroyed/displaced the entire community.
