ESO - Greymoor PTS 6.0.4 - Stamina Nightblade [91k+]
updated
As hinted at in my previous video, I am not playing ESO very much anymore and have decided that this will be the last video I post on the channel. Honestly I'm doing this mostly for some self reflection over what I have achieved over the past 3 years since coming to PC from Xbox on ESO. The decision is also based on the PTS notes and the lack of end game that will exist following the next patch.
Over the last 3 years, I have set 40 new world record scores as per the below:
vAA: 10 (thanks NA)
vHRC: 1 (this one wasn't even full vit lmao)
vSO: 4
vMol: 4
vHoF: 4 (home of Stress Tested)
vAS: 3 (PUG group mania)
vCR: 4 (my first with Hodor, still standing with ST)
vSS: 2 (missed world first GS cos of holiday)
vKA: 5
vRG: 1 (for 1 day lmao, still claiming it)
I'd like to thank everyone who watched these videos over the years. I appreciate that dummy parses are the most viewed content and helped me grow the channel at the start, but I like to think this has been one of the go to channels for score pushing and parses for a while. If anyone has been here since the beginning and still watches these, even more love to you.
My objectives in this game were to simply be the best DD for a while at the start, but changed when ST reformed early last year to ensure we had the best team. I like to think that I helped make good players become great ones, not only in ST but through channels like ESOU too.
I have to say I couldn't have done it without some key people. There are loads I can name, but 3 of them stand out:
1) Valencer - we had a lot of ups and downs, but you put everything into ST and we wouldn't have had the success we had without you.
2) Warfire - pushed me into being a better player and converted me from a dummy humper to someone who could deliver in raid, when it mattered
3) Liko - the window to the end game community for me. Inspired me to be a part of Hodor and put his arm round me when I first joined.
It feels sad to be moving on from the game like this, but all good stories have an end. Thanks again to everyone. See you around, ciao
Been a bit quiet from posting and it will continue to be the same moving forward. ST disbanded during PTS weeks for multiple reasons and I do not plan on joining another group. I've been doing this a long time now and my ESO adventure is just about at an end.
Thanks to Wipe on Reset for having my rusty ass join them for a few raids. This was my best attempt on Taleria after I got the new Coral Riptide set. I don't know exact details on pillar of nirn scaling but it kinda does ridiculous DPS when you combine the two. Rele should be good too if you don't want to mess around with stam management.
I didn't play well here really, lost a few GCDs trying to cast blastbones early after deluge and neglected my trap casts too much. Also don't buy an Xbox elite controller, they break all the time and now my Y button occasionally doesn't work (I just LA'd without casting cloak a couple times). Luckily I was told to just hit the boss pog
Stamcro is comfortably the best class, playing anything else in a damage role is a little bit pointless unless you need a specific class for a buff. This fight is the only one where necro isn't actually that great. Whenever you have to move you'll lose det siphon and corpses will be too far away to recast most of the time. This also means your boneyard won't get empowered all the time, although this is definitely an L2P in which you can aim it at the corpses on the move.
Apparently there are mechanics on this fight or something...

ST ended a hard fought patch by retaking the vKA World record. Thanks to both UA and simulation for pushing us this patch to play to our best. Out of the 4 trials we pushed this patch, we have managed to retain 3 world records. Shout out to all the core members of ST over the patch and whoever filled for us throughout. Wasn't always the easiest of patches but we've ended with a result we're super proud of.
This run was close to ideal. We had our best fight times on each boss and trash was pretty decent.

Hi Guys,
Stress Tested finalised improving the vCR world record to a 2:49 run. My own DPS was pretty awful this run for a couple of reasons:
1) Cast destro too late so I didn't get an atro back for earlier in exe and the fight was a lot faster than normal. Also missed a few ticks on Z'Maja and didn't get any ticks on siro so feels bad. An atro after this port RNG would've been much better but it was an unusual one.
2) I play a lot more as a 'second kiter'. It helps takes jumps out the group and greatly increased our consistency. Also increases everyone else's DPS by not having a load of AoEs around the main boss cos of jumps.
3) I got crushing in execute which meant I couldn't go into group and pick up Olo, minor berserk, access to synergies etc. It's pretty awful when this happens, I lose about 20k single target on the shade
Other points to note is this class is actually ass and I hate it

Forgot to record from the start of the run so could only shadow play from last boss. Run wasn't too special and there's room for another 15-20 seconds off this. I also forgot to ult on one of he trash pulls pre falgravn so I started with way too much ulti and my battle roar put me way too high mag wise. I couldn't really get my mag down at all from this point so my DPS was absolutely chalked lmao. Best parses below:

Would probably take necro if we go back.
ST is back in vKA trying to retake the record score from Waking Flame which we lost to Simulation on PC EU this week. Shout out to them for their first WR as a group!
I'm playing a parse DK in this trial. The rest of the 'parse' DDs are on magicka necros, whilst the other 2 DKS are on stagger and Z'en respectively. It's pretty close overall between necro and DK as a parse choice. DK is definitely stronger single target DPS but it lacks some cleave vs a necro on Falgravn to cleave Njordal down.
In trash they're pretty even looking in our logs, necro creeping slightly ahead. The use of potency allows extra ults which give it a little edge on DK overall, but mostly insignificant.
I prefer AY over Kinras. I have tried both a few times now and on DK it just seems to give me the best results.
Congrats to the Hodler premium boys (and Helmi) for getting the vSO World Record. I got to play parse DK for a nice change. Not much to say here apart from use Sul-xan where you can! My performance was average in regards to boss DPS - highest parses are below:
Manti: https://prnt.sc/26v2nz2
Stonebreaker: https://prnt.sc/26v2nu0
Ozara: https://prnt.sc/26v2nf3
Thought I'd hop onto PTS as there's been some significant changes and hybridisation. DK gained about 10k DPS from these changes.
It's optimal in every scenario as things stand to use a 2H back bar. Stampede + Carve + vMA DoT is just superior to a maelstrom staff. Venom claw is now superior to burning embers, but this would change if you decided you wanted to use simmering frenzy.
Crit lucked out here but had slightly worse weaving than I would have liked.
Ulti pots with stam and mag, 0 in battle roar and ghastly eye bowl.

I'm back after a short break from the game. I haven't actually ever played Templar with jabs before, it was a big meta in Greymoor which was the last time I played it. At this time it was blood for blood spam, so weaving jabs is completely new to me.
Anyway, the combo of vamp toggle and templar self healing through jabs and purifying light makes it quite ridiculous for burst fights. You can pre toggle more than I did here, and even precast multiple other damage skills (you can see endless hails, caltrops, spiders etc here). 200k+ has been achieved by quite a few members of this group and I'm sure they'll secure a WR soon!
DPS is getting absolutely out of control. Old content does not scale anywhere near well enough. I'd love to see a harder difficulty so some good old mechanics return.
Thanks to Scoia for letting me fill :)

Stess Tested is back with another world record, this time in vSS. This one personally means a lot to me - it was the only trial I hadn't set a number 1 score in since my transfer to PC so I wanted to make a little shout-out to all of the groups that led me to this point.
I transferred to PC during the Elsweyr PTS and joined Symbolic as my first group. I was then fortunate enough to have the opportunity to join Hodor, led by Warfire, shortly afterwards. Sadly, I missed the worlds first Godslayer due to a holiday, but was able to achieve my first world record in vCR before the group disbanded. A few of us then were taken in by PK44 into a group known as Roleplayers, who are still going strong today and also pushing vSS. I then joined Stress Tested, led by Valencer (and still to this day). After the game being unplayable (who remembers Harrowstorm?) and an ST disband, I joined Unchained Animals led by Chief Chef (and AOEGU at the time), until taking a short break from the game. ST then reformed a few patches ago and here we are today. Throughout this time there's also been the EU PUG group, setup by Tyreh, now formally known as Brad's Brides (it's had many, many other names).
I learned a lot from all of these groups and especially the the individuals within them. I've played with some amazing players and it's great to have and see lots of new faces in the end game community, particularly on the EU server.
I won't talk in depth about each boss and trash setups as it's all available in the public logs. Any questions you can reach out to me! A quick note just to say that the reason MK and spaulder work somewhat synergistically is that since bash cost was reduced a huge amount, its very hard to keep your stamina low without the nuke to your stam regen that the spaulder gives. It's also a sweet buff for your teammates.

ST retook our score in vKA with a 21 second gain over the previous score set in this patch. We dropped the stamina DPS - probably made no difference overall but was easier to fit in support sets and not worry about pen bonuses.
I am playing EC with MA in trash, swapping MA out for acuity on pulls I don't need to drop colossus. Didn't play great this run. Yandir is so annoying - sometimes he goes into a position where siphon legit does not cast at all. You can see me running around at different angles to try and fix this, to no avail. Here's a clip from my Saturday group Unchained Animals! Congrats to them on achieving a really fast time and score for World Record in vRG (305.9k score).
This is the first time I played EC necro actually. It's a really interesting support class to play, especially with only front barring the set. There's quite a few mistakes from me here personally but this setup can definitely achieve 130k+ DPS. EC Cro is definitely a DPS loss vs MK, simply for the fact that running mystic siphon vs detonating siphon is a significant DPS loss in itself.
Some tips that I can give for playing this setup:
1) Use a shock or frost glyph alongside your flame glyph front bar with daggers. You could even do both. It'll help patch some of the gaps in uptimes.
2) Cast siphon across the boss onto corpses underneath the main boss. You should have frogs under there and the odd blastbones too.
Pretty proud of this score. A very big joint effort from the group. At the start of this progression there were some very new DDs to this trial so it was great to see the progression from average DPS to really high. For every NB to be over 90k in this run is quite the achievement (I'm washed now???)
Tab target works so I impaled llothis twice hehehe!!!!
Couple of things with my setup - I am using mystic orb here but it's definitely not the best option. You're much better to go with degen or debilitate. The reason I have mystic orb is to ensure there is enough combustion synergies available for the group. You'll also see me overcasting orb a little for this purpose.
Gear: Bahsei/Medusa/1xSlimecraw(Medium)/Kilt
The last sphere died a little slow in execute so all my dots ran out way too early in execute and I lost some DPS here. Also lots of blocking and safe play due to cones earlier in the fight.
A little update from me from Xalvakka where we get the potluck RNG of skipping 2 volatile shells. Unfortunately it's not something I like about this fight and therefore you probably won't catch me score pushing this trial. Each shell is worth about 20 seconds fight time. Skipping 2 shells saves about 40 seconds of fight time. This fight would have been a little faster too and my own DPS would have been higher had we not had any deaths during the shell phase on third floor.
Thought I'd try and explain my thought process around how I play each floor as well as some mistakes.
1) Start of about 40% max magicka and apply back bar dots and using an incap. Hold a potion so you can use it straight afterwards to regen ulti through NB passives. Her port timings can be seen in the top right using the rockgrove helper. You should also note than if Xalvakka goes below 75% HP she won't port again. I assumed she would get pushed before this threshold here so mistakenly recast some back bar dots. You should also note that when she ports a second time, it will be directly opposite the current position. Playing this floor well should allow you to leave it at more than 110k every time, and should be 115k+ even
2) You kill a lot of adds on this floor, so don't cast siphoning attacks. Executioner NB passive will gen you loads of magicka. At one point I lost a GCD here as I greeded for holding my pot until after my incap and just didn't quite have enough mag for a mystic orb cast. I also used an incap at what looked like a bad time as I didn't have all my dots up. This was intentional as it allowed me to get another one before the phase ended.
3) Sustain is by far the worst here. 2 errors, 1 is not keeping up siphoning attacks so I had to HA once, but managed to do it before 24% when I started casting impales. Second was something that seems to happen occasionally to me and I went to back bar to cast twisting path and the skill didn't go off in execute. Could also have recast shade 1 more time possibly too.
Pretty messy performance from myself but a little bit of fun - congrats to Brad's brides for improving the vSO score to 10:29, a minute faster than the previous record set in the Greymoor using Thrassian by 4D.
I'm colossus everywhere except I used a DB on Manti as there wasn't really anywhere else my ult fit in well. I used Medusa + Bahsei in trash and DV + Bahsei on bosses.
Here's a PoV from my best effort so far on Xalvakka at 85.7k ST. Thanks to UA for letting me fill, they have excellent fight times across the whole trial. We lost undead enchant here but gained some passive buffs. I'm also taking advantage of the excellent sustain on NB and passive changes to run 2 medium pieces (1x Slimecraw and 1x Harpooner's Wading Kilt). When you're at cap penetration, 1 pc of medium armour is statistically more DPS than a piece of light armour.
Parse: https://prnt.sc/1r8y6y4
Setup: 5x Medusa, 5xBahsei, 1xSlimecraw (Medium), 1xHarpooner's Wading Kilt
I played well until last floor shell. I should've heavy attacked the shell as I definitely lost execute DPs as a result of not being able to cast skills right near the end. Otherwise I managed my magicka really well.
I'm uploading this not for the cleanliness of the run/my own personal performance but simply for an incredibly memorable moment with a group of players that strived to do the very best they could.
Thankyou so much to @Olibeau for allowing myself and Warfire to be a part of this. I genuinely had great fun pushing this and optimising to a level we felt we could get consistent results with.
We are OFFICALLY QUAKE CON CHAMPONS 2021. EU wins.

Here's Stress Tested's newest WR in Kyne's Aegis. We achieved this in 11 raid days, with a relatively new roster to score pushing at this standard. We really could have improved this score a lot but with damage increases coming next patch we've settled with this. Biggest loss was actually on last boss by a long shot - our best time here was 6:47 and this was a 7:27 - might have been some over safe play going on I suspect. Overall I'm really proud of this newly reformed roster - it's a first world record for a lot of people here too so it's great progress. Congrats team!

1xWarden OT/Healer - Valencer (Raid Lead)
1xTemplar Healer - Chaos Knight
2xMagcro (EC/MK) - Ambition, Imidazole
1xZ'en DK - Tyreh
1xBrittle Magden - Lulu
2xNB - Aizen, Ciilo
2xStam necro - Joe, Charles
1xStamsorc - Shortround
Logs are private but happy to answer questions below.
Here's a highlight parse from Stress Tested's score progression in vKA. Get quite a few questions RE group comp etc so this seems like a good opportunity to highlight it here:
1xDK Tank
1xWarden OT/Healer
1xTemplar Healer
2xMagcro (EC/MK)
1xZ'en DK
1xBrittle Magden
2xNB
2xStam necro
1xStamsorc
Idea with this comp is that we have 3 stam DDs replacing mag ones. The stamcros are significantly better than the magcros, so it makes sense to include these. The stam sorc provides a crystal weapon debuff which allows every non-NB/necro DD to run 1xcrit instead of 1xValkyn. Also helps stam reach then pen cap. The MT runs Tremorscale to help out with this as well.
My role here is the brittle Magden clearly. I use double ice staves, with an infused frost glyph back and precise flame front. I normally get between 85-90% minor brittle with this setup. Sustain is pretty horrendous unfortunately, the extra cost on ice blockade is pretty nasty.

Another look at PTS, this time at stamina necromancer. For quite a lot of patches now, stamina DPS has fallen significantly out of favour in many group comps. The lack of cleave damage, access to penetration and ability to do DPS from range has caused Magicka DPS to be heavily favoured. However, stamina has received some decent buffs again in Waking Flame and it's likely we may see some more hybrid comps in trials where stamina DPS is more viable.
Anyway, the buff to carve this patch and stampede last patch make the stamcro kit loaded with AoE DPS. These 2 skills, blastbones, deadly cloak, detonating siphon, caltrops and forceful passive from light attacks give huge DPS - although in a relatively small area.
The changes to medium armour to now give crit damage instead of crit chance makes thief and AY the obvious choice in terms of gear setups.
I'm definitely not the fastest weaving with these new skills on stam right now - expect to see potential DPS up towards the 114-115k mark!

Back to uploading some more dummy parse content whilst Stress Tested do some progression in vKA. I am getting some questions about our hybrid comp etc so if I get a nice second boss parse I'll post it with some more details as reference. You can find me streaming the runs at: twitch.tv/olulu
Anyways, regarding PTS: Magicka Nightblade DPS has gone up. We got a spell damage buff (2%) and crit damage buff (2%) from wearing 1x medium armour in the form of the Harpooners kilt thanks to the armour changes. It does appear that 1 piece of medium armour is statistically stronger than 1 piece of light armour, so in theory you could start swapping out light armour pieces for medium armour if your sustain is good. We also gained 2% ST damage from the inferno staff buff. Dual wield should still be stronger for your DPS but on sorc and NB it should be pretty close now. I'd predict dual wield to be able to get to 110k+ ish.
For the sake of comparisons between classes, I'll be using this same setup of Diamond's Victory(DV)/Bahsei/1xKilt/1xSlimecraw. DV and Bahsei is just a really strong combo - you're not restricted to a siro circle, you have a front bar set that carries to back with the strongest body set for mag DPS in the game. In my experience, Medusa in place of DV is quite the DPS loss, about 3 to 5k. Furthermore, we can now front bar trap for an extra 3% spell damage minimising the loss of having to run the skill. However, it should be noted that inner light is stronger than 1 fighters guild skill, which is stronger than a standard mages guild skill. Apart from that the bar setup is pretty standard - I needed to cast spell sym a couple of times to sustain relatively low mag now which is a small DPS loss. In raid, replace this with mystic orb and you'll be good.

Here's Stress Tested's shot at a vCR score in Blackwood. This was 3 seconds off being WR but in the spirit of not banging our head against the wall for a bit of RNG and perfect performance from everyone we'll be moving onto vKA for a WR push before a vRG trifecta prog next patch.
My role as orb killer in this trial led me to picking magblade as class of choice. I have a self heal attached to a spammable which is nice to go out of grop stack with to kill orbs, a high burst damage skill in bow proc, passive pen and soul harvest to gen ulti. The execute is really nice as well to help push Z'maja and finish Relequen when she's pushed.
On trash I have a running setup with minor force (channeled acceleration) and dark shade as a prebuff. I then could ulti on the trash pack with master architect and acuity to give my side 50 seconds of slayer which carried onto the trash pull in middle. The split here is why this looks a little different to previous videos you may have seen. We have 6 players left who kill Galenwe trash and boss room trash, whereas right group kills Siroria and Relequen trash. I was supposed to swap to BSW Acuity and Ilambris on the middle room trash but got stuck in combat.
Overall I played okay this pull. Didn't save the CMX but here was my best effort (96k AoE). 100k AoE is defo doable and probably something I should have achieved. Gear is Bahsei/Medusa/1xSlimecraw/1x Harpooner's Wading Kilt.

So I'm back playing again currently and Stress Tested has reformed with a fresh new roster. We just started out doing some vHoF and finished yesterday with a 229.8k score within a couple of weeks or so. I would have uploaded the full run but forgot to record it whilst I was streaming and didn't fancy uploading a video ripped from stream. Should be streaming regularly again now so go check it out at: twitch.tv/olulu
This video has a compilation of my best parses from 3/5 bosses. The spider isn't really much to see so have left that out and didn't record my best AG fight as that was on stream yday. Necromancer is a pretty solid choice as a full damage DD in HoF. You'll lose out to NBs and sorcs on 2nd (Pinnacle) and last boss (AG) - pretty significantly so if the NBs are comfortable with vampire toggle - but have great cleave on 1st (Raptors) and 4th (Triplets). Bahsei and DV are the staple choice for 1st, 2nd and 3rd bosses, although you'll notice in my 2nd boss parse I actually have Siroria and DV which is also really strong without requiring resource management. All my setups used Harpooner's wading kilt apart from AG where I used Death Dealer's fete.
Raptors CMX (I lost the 190k one from vid): https://prnt.sc/1918nic
Key thing here when using Bahsei is that if you get low on magicka on necro, instead of doing a heavy you can just recast detonating siphon on all the shalks that die to get the AoE explosion. Flame pulsar is just cracked as AoE spammable.
Pinnacle CMX (99.5k ST): https://prnt.sc/1917zjx
Had Siro here so with more time I defo would've seen 100-105k with Bahsei, but still a solid result. Best advice I can give here is try not to waste time or GCDs during the shade mech. You can get off a LA+spammable each time he appears.
Triplets CMX (239.4k): https://prnt.sc/1918es6
Setup here is back bar siroria inferno, front bar DV with kilt and illambris. Most important thing to try and do on this setup is ensure you keep maintaining siroria stacks here by LAing on your back bar at the appropriate time. I dropped stacks here because I had to block the stun AoE whilst casting my orb so missed the LA sadge. Could probably have been 250k with that kept up.
Off to CR now AYYE AYEEE UH
From my testing, this is the strongest and easiest class to get good DPS on this patch. The Vateshran dual wield is pretty overpowered . Due to how easy the rotation is, you can get super consistent results from 107k-108k (up to 110k for sure with some crit luck and if you can weave a little faster than me) as long as you drop skills at the right time. You will have to be flanking for this to work however, so it's not an option in vSS.
Parse: https://prnt.sc/10cvxmi (not even sure this is the one matching the video but I had the same DPS a lot)
Setup: https://prnt.sc/10cvx9m
If you can sustain rending slashes back bar instead of consuming trap, it should be a little more DPS.
As a proposed rotation, prebuff with hurricane and twilight tormentor enrage. Do deadly cloak, consuming trap and use bound armaments procs after 4 stacks. Cast barbed trap off cooldown. Drop your consuming trap at 50%, bound armaments ~40% ish (you might not want to bother recasting the buff below 50% though as obviously it doesn't do any damage by recasting) and drop hurricane at 25%. Keep up deadly cloak and barbed trap in execute still and just spam shrouded daggers!
We use flame and poison enchants back bar now as increased status effect procs from the new CP tree gives us more DPS than the berserker enchant.
Unfortunately I can't raid until the end of April anymore due to connection issues so no streaming or raid content until then.
Here's a clip from the best personal fight I had during UAs WR push of vSS. I'll probably upload my best Nahvii fight too, and then hopefully the full score run if we achieve it within the week (currently 1 second away feelsbad).

Magblade is the only class that can really do this kind of vampire toggle setup without using ring of the pale order. You could also try it on sorc with crit surge but you're a lot more hampered for bar space.
I chose 2x crit over domihaus for this fight as I'm not guaranteed to get the true benefit of the set at all times having to run to the cages etc. If you're stood melee parsing the whole time, it's definitely the best choice.
Magden meta owo
Parse: https://prnt.sc/104u09s
Setup: https://prnt.sc/104u8zs
CP: Backstabber (15% flanking crit damage), Fighting Finesse (10% Crit damage), Deadly Aim (10% ST damage), Thaumaturge (10% DoT damage)
Chose Magden to showcase another interesting new option and concept - dual wield front bar. The removal of the magical and physical damage nodes in CP mean that weapon light attacks have the same base damage across specs now. Dual wield passives also give you access to more crit rating vs destro staves, so are certainly a viable option. On a dummy, it's about 1.5-2k DPS stronger than inferno (also applies to necro as well!).
In regards to the class itself, this is probably going to be a top choice for a lot of places. The class has strong cleave and great ST DPS. In trash, it's also S tier and even more so next patch. The fact that the best ulti you have for bosses is so cheap, it means you can usually use more destro ultimates in trash pulls without having to worry about saving it. The nerf to DWG also compliments wardens in this way too.

Will try cover some more classes this PTS but won't spend loads of time on parses. This is a little more of a relevant video as I didn't upload any dotcro parses yet and I used an interesting combination of mundus and race to still get strong results (Khajiit + thief). I wasn't sold on DoT rotas for raids but they are actually working really well. Stagger adds a lot of DPS to DoTs in raids too. Apologies for not turning off screenshake!!!!!!!!
Parse: https://prnt.sc/1049ysk
Setup: https://prnt.sc/1049z73 (yes Clive I missed 2 LAs and what)
CP: Backstabber (15% flanking crit damage), Fighting Finesse (10% Crit damage), Biting Aura (10% AoE damage), Thaumaturge (10% DoT damage)
So basically, we lost a lot of crit rating this patch. Thief helps compensate for this and puts us at 71% crit rate with 3 necro abilities front bar for 101% in execute. Khajit got a nice little buff and will be the obvious choice for anyone wanting to play with the vampire toggle + pale order combination as the spell damage passives from other races are not as valuable when you have 10k spell damage lmao. I tried multiple combinations (dunmer, khajiit, thief, shadow) all within a non-significant variance.
I have personal preference with this bar setup. I love detonating siphon (more damage than mystic siphon, even noticeably more so this patch with the CP changes) as a 'pseudo spammable' which I can recast early and still get value out of it because of the explosion. It's also a free cast. If I just cast detonating siphon and all other dots are running, then I prefer to cast scalding rune. Blockade is the last choice for my 'all dots are up' situation. DoT priority should now be Blockade/Orb, Siphon, Boneyard.
I'm sure you will see 100k+ parses (a lot of non-casting skills issue on PTS) so I'd say we lost ~7k DPS on the dummy. We still unfortunately are going to have this awful vamp toggle + pale order meta however.

Thanks to the best Shadow Officer for guard, @WHoitsma I promise I will have gold BT DWG jewellery next raid.
Here's a fight from our UA vampire GS progression. I've played almost every class this patch in vSS and can comfortably say Mag Sorc has the best ST DPS with these kind of setups. The ultimate is absolutely busted, not only for it's DPS (it's like elf-bane destro damage) but a bug is currently occurring so that the sorc themselves actually gains major berserk for 8 seconds...
One of the reasons this class can consistently get good results is ease of rotation. This was my third ever raid playing mag sorc in 5 years of playing this game. In terms of rotation, I just played so that I cast wall and orb with the highest priority, with frag procs being higher priority than prey and finally the scamp on front bar. Seems to work well enough.
L2P on my end: Dropped siro stacks during phase 1 and 3 because time stops - better movement timing can fix this issue. Forgot to activate the twilight tormentor enrage pre second phase. In general, the problem is with faster fight times it's harder to get better DPS on these bosses, due to fixed timing of flying phases. Group DPS pretty pog champ as these fights are now faster than Thrassian meta.
Parse: https://prnt.sc/x47uc2
Setup: https://prnt.sc/x47xn0
Our group comp is currently:
1x DK Tank
1x Warden Tank
1x Templar Healer
1x Necro Support (RO Jorvulds)
5x Necro DD
2x Sorc
1x Z'en DK
Two important things for this strategy is:
1) Solo Main Tank - allows off tank to be in group with PA and do solid DPS.
2) Skip Second Flare - you can all hard stack first flare to reduce damage with toggles on and then don't have to turn off again. The MT doesn't even need to chain them under the boss. Just insta taunt adds (DDs one shot by flame atro 90% of the time) and chain them near each other so group can AoE them down after quickly.
Thought I would post a full run from an attempted score push on my end. At the time of writing this, it's currently the top EU score (although I am sure not for long). WR score is currently held by @ambitionplays on NA proving console transfers really are BiS! I am sure I will revisit the arena before the end of the patch for a final push, but for now I shall take a little break from it.
Firstly I want to say thank you to Clive, Porky and Kaevix for carrying me through this with some theory crafting. They all had some great ideas (and some not so great ones, but that's all part of testing!) to help make things a little faster along the way. I hope the video and following insights can help you all to improve your scores for those wishing to do so. Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments - I have nothing to hide and hope the sharing of this content is useful!
My 'strategy' here is to use Thrassian Stranglers in the first arena, then use the combination of the vampire toggle and new mythic healing ring (ROTPO) for the rest of the arena. The reason for Thrassians on green is I found it more consistent for getting the 'nuke' on the minotaur, where you kill him after the first colour switch. The toggle is equal to Thrassians spell damage after about 8 seconds, without taking a 6k HP hit and keeping ROTPO. There is some L2P with it, and for sure I can be a lot more 'aggressive' with it's use. Thrassians is possibly the faster option however. This run in particular I would consider unlucky in terms of RNG - notably the enrage of flesh atro on first blue boss, maim eye spawning on second blue boss and missing the burn on magma queen (red first boss).
Some comments below on each arena:
Green
1) Proxy det is an amazing skill. Learn your timings and it can almost one shot some waves.
2) For the lurchers, I prebuff with a Jorvulds MA horn. Key here is to have enough DPS to not need to interrupt the spriggan.
3) For the minotaur, the idea is to lock him into a mechanic at around 80% HP to get a consistent burn. If you push him to 80% too fast and he changes colour instantly, you WILL NOT KILL HIM on the next pad. So, put down 2 dots and do a HA into a skill (preferably a saved bow proc). The ideal is to have him below 72% when he colour changes. The burn from here is relatively comfortable. Anything above 75% you are gonna have a hard time, I promise.
Blue
1) I personally save a soul harvest on minotaur to have a destro for the first trash. Not sure this is necessary but I got into this habit.
2) Have a running setup to get the mag buff!
3) There is a way to prevent the flesh atro from enraging, but I can't make it happen consistently. I even do the same thing each run - I think it's do do with when he stomps the ground? Cost me about 8 seconds on this boss fight (14 second fight is my best here)
4) I got the maim eye on ash titan and it cost me another 4 seconds pepega. You can try doing the whole thing without 'resetting' the toggle but you can die so easily that way.
Red
1) I really got cucked this run lmao - missed the burn on ash titan by like 40kHP. I should have another setup for this boss with soul harvest front abr for the execute, so it's a mistake on my part.
2) All the trash pulls here can be improved I think, maybe new stacks, but certainly more 'aggression' with the vampire toggle. Was playing very safe to secure a score.
3) Big damage early on is the trick on this boss. If you can get him to execute when he does the floor is lava mechanic (and you have magicka) then you can get some really clean kills. After this, it's a bit of a run around and quite hard to deal good DPS. Use medusa here, prebuffed force doesn't last long enough (forgot to do this myself)
Last
Again a a bit of an RNG fest. She can lock into some annoying mechanics and cost a lot of time here. I dropped orb as I was never casting it on the boss again as when you come back she is always in execute. Tbh, this is probably one of the worse parts of my run and lots of room for improvement.

Not many uploads from me this patch, apologies! I wasn't raiding I recently joined UA and then forgot to record the vMol former WR score. This is UAs best effort for the patch, but not a great run overall. We had another run where I was entering execute at 72k ST so this wasn't so great in comparison. I guess getting maimed as soon as the boss becomes vulnerable is bad, with no Alkosh or stagger from MT in execute. Feelsbad. EU high score regardless.
Necro has pretty lack luster DPS in vAS for multiple reasons. First is that this is a DoT strong class, which you have less uptime of naturally from the way AS is played. Secondly, its pretty RNG for how often you can stay melee and therefore how often you can cast blastbones. I enjoyed the challenge for the most part - worst thing is not being able to sustain with PFGD. I have to heavy attack every sphere basically, which is a depressing playstyle.
Wearing MA, Medusa, Maw here.
Hope the music gives some people nostalgia - only right since this char is called Lucario.

First of all, shoutout to Swich_1 for hosting this event. The rules were simply that there were 8 people maximum in the group and the highest score won. We only had 2 raids together due to time constraints and some of our group having other commitments, but it was very fun and theory crafting the best ways to go about doing things was interesting too.
Group comp:
MT: Warden @PK
Healer: Templar @Warfire
DD Necro: @Saphorius(MA) @qwertzuiop (EC MA)
DD Sorc: @Reveax (MK)
DD NB: @Deekri @Lulu
DK: @Alx (Z'en) / @WHoitmsa
On Lokke, we had our healer (Warfire) run Alkosh so PK could ranged tank the boss and we could get good uptime as Warfire could stand in group. We didn't attempt the hardmode here - it's certainly possible, but the fight would have been long and we didn't have the time to practice.
On Yolna, we had the MagDK stand in a group on his own. Everytime he would have the flare, he could 'solo' it by using a magma armour ultimate. WE ahd enough DPS to not have to worry too much about having 2 iron atros up, as we could either skip it if we were really fast with some good RNG, or push the boss before it became an issue.
This Nahvii fight was quite a bit slower than others, largely due to a mishap with the add stack on first trash. We all saved ulti for the trash, with myself and another DD helping to stack the mages.

Here's my Magicka necromancer rotation for Stonethorn. Not much to say about the rotation other than it is completely dynamic, keeping up blastbones every 3rd. If you want something more static, this will work:
[BB - skill - skill - BB - skill - skill - BB - skill - skill - boneyard] repeat
Boneyard is casted on the third skill so it’s empowered by the corpse from the blastbones. This also makes the rotation 10 seconds which is easier to manage. Don’t be afraid to slightly overcast siphon either because when you have stagger from a DK tank it actually does a lot of DPS - but best to play everything outside of this dynamically.
Parse: http://prntscr.com/u3jbsh
Setup: http://prntscr.com/u3jcdn
Regarding in raid setups, magicka necromancers are almost always going to be in Master Architect + another set. The other set you're going to likely want in this combo is mother's sorrow, and possibly siroria. Elemental catalyst will also likely work it's way onto a magicka necromancer in the group. When using EC, be careful to ensure DoTs have a high up time - your pets will not proc the set.
Since the BFB nerf, magcro actually has some reasonably respectable ST DPS compared to all classes other than Nightblade. It's a bit worse in raid where there are siphon and BB issues, but it has huge cleave. I can potentially even see people using these in CR with destro ultis - it's a strong choice. Lots of extra grave robber synergies shouldn't be sniffed at either - these do a lot of DPS. Otherwise your usual 3 are gonna be here to stay, as long as major vulnerability is around :)
Not expecting too many changes from this point on so here's my stamina necromancer build for. I would note it is possible to get more DPS on the dummy using something like master dual weild front bar, but this will translate much better in a raid where Maarselok is significantly more potent. Expect about 2k more DPS from this kind of setup iron the dummy. I'll do some dummy tests for some classes (probably just the two necro specs), then likely go into more details with Nightblades as I did before as those videos had been super popular. Also, as things stand, Nightblade will be the go to DPS spec.
Parse: http://prntscr.com/tw7kpu
CMX: http://prntscr.com/tw7l2i
Note on the CMX parse I have highlighted all of the poison/disease damage sources that would be buffed by morag tong thanks to the changes. This equates to about a 4k DPS increase if the buff is applied. Alongside this, with all the new sources of penetration that are available we can run 0 points into penetration CP in a raid. The reallocation of this CP should also net you another ~3k DPS. Finally, Maarselok does signifcantly more damage in a raid due to the extra debuffs being applied to the target. Expect another 2.5k DPS from this monster helm in raid. All things considered, you're looking at stamina performing incredibly well in a single target environment.
Rotation:
I always like to, for the most part, have some fixed anchor points in a rotation, then play other skills dynamically. Here, my fix is deadly cloak + consuming trap on back bar, followed by a blastbones and then detonating siphon. Written out, my rotation is something like the following:
Blastbones - Deadly Cloak - Consuming Trap - Blastbones - Detonating Siphon - Free - Blastbones - Free - Free - Blastbones - Free - Free
The 'Free' slots you fill with venom skull, barbed trap and skeletal archer off cooldown. Below 25% you can replace venom skulls with whirling blades in raid.
Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any questions, I'll answer as many as possible in the comments section.

Here's ST's new best effort at vHoF, with a 14:46. Our last boss was horrible - our best efforts are 15 seconds faster here so I'm sure 14:30 and below is possible. Played okay apart from last boss, which was pretty awful. Normally I'd have an ice comet every phase here but I started with a lot less ult and it messed up my timings.

Congrats to SAPHORIUS for a vAA world record. Here we go again...?
Apparently I only play support in AA. I try not to take stacks from the full damage DPS, so focus mainly on chaining in the pulls where I need etc. It's more valuable for the parse monkeys to have them. My main focus on bosses is to keep 5 DoTs running the whole time on the boss, even if it means casting them slightly early.

We had our best score with a time of 15:45 on 20/07/2020, but I won't upload a full run until we're happier with the score. Something closer to 15 mins flat (mini trial btw) would be achievable with a close to perfect run, so we'll see how we get on.
I lost the CMX.

Probably should've recast trap early before the first boss hit execute, but after that there wasn't really the time. You don't want to 'waste' GCDs when you could be beaming cos that skill does the most ridiculous amount of DPS. It's a trade off, but you really want to get DoTs up and then perma beam from 35% pretty much.
Camo Hunter is front bar for reliable minor berserk as we're just ball group clumped.

Hi everyone,
Probably my best fight from KA for personal DPS. For rotation, I've reverted to something like he following:
[BB - skill - skill - BB - skill - skill - BB - skill - skill - boneyard] repeat
Boneyard is casted on the third skill so it’s empowered by the corpse from the blastbones. This also makes the rotation 10 seconds which is easier to manage. Forgot to record the full run and my replay is only set to capture the last 10 mins :pepega:
SO basically I played quite horribly here. I almost died twice (once to the lightning mechanic, second to mini boss ports), and after that I took no risks. Had I been at higher Thrassian stacks I would have died, for sure.
Usually your necros that are playing the mechanics just need to do so as quickly and safely as possible. Let your Wardens, DKs or whoever are in melee do the DPS - you just need to be an 'enabler'. Perhaps if we were really pushed for time we would play more aggressively, but it wasn't the case for now.
In terms of how we play this boss:
Elfo solo tanks. He is guarded by Valencer who plays off healing to support with high thrassian stacks and the heavy execute damage.
1) First floor: necros + ranged sorc play the line mechanic, whilst the melee DDs (3x Warden, 1x DK) parse on the mini boss.
2) Second floor: here the DDs form 4 groups of 2 around the boss, with the healers spread on either side. The stacks consist of ranged DDs (necro or sorc) + a melee DD. When instability comes in, the melee people can always stay where they are. If a ranged DD gets instability, they roll backwards, shield, and come in when safe to do so.
3) Third floor: we run twice, 2 groups of 2. One warden in each group provides major breach, minor vuln and off balance on the prisoners.
Stress Tested is finished in KA and will push vHoF. I'll upload my 127k ST parse on Captain Vrol tomorrow.
Hope you enjoy the full run from our achievement. Took us 8 raids (7 throws at 36/36 on last) with 2 completely new people in the last 3 raids so pretty pleased with our progress since reforming. Here I'm playing Z'en DK to cover one of our missing DDs.
Not a lot to say here apart from this was really slow for us. We lost like 15-20 seconds on trash before first alone, and then one of our DDs got stuck behind a door before second boss for another 20 seconds or so. All the bosses were significantly slower than the normal too, so feels bad. We've been 60 seconds faster with 3 deaths, so emotional Valen was not happy this was the run...
Setups:
Iceheart, Elfbane, Z'en on bosses 1 and 3
Illambris, Elfbane, Z'en on boss 2
Acuity, PFGD, Illambris/Iceheart on trash
Guard on first two bosses means I can use scalding instead of barbed trap for a DoT for Z'en:
1. Talons
2. Engulfing
3. Burning Embers
4. Burning
5. Scalding Rune/Barbed Trap
Score push next!
Stress Tested, the most emotional guild EU, is finally back after the Hiatus. We're currently progressing for the Dawnbringer title, and are super close after only our 6th raid back (few emotional moments on last boss).
Being the responsible officer that I am, I benched myself from parsing to play necro. Never again, it's garbage. If you find people willing to play the class, and can play it well, then treat them very nicely. I'll be swapping to something else after triple achievement so this is probably the only necro video I post!
Besides that, I want to mainly use this video description to talk about our group comp for full trials. I see this question a lot so here's my personal thoughts (note PERSONAL):
- Supports:
1) You need a DK for stagger
2) You need a Templar for POTL and minor sorcery
3) It would be VERY beneficial to have a Warden for toughness and resistance buffs (I would say a necessity for almost everyone)
4) You need a NB healer for consistent uptimes from Roaring Opportunist. See @stileanima 's video: youtube.com/watch?v=fOuSXsFOS48
-DDs:
1) Now you need a Sorc as there is no room for them in your support slots (provides minor prophecy).
2) You will want at least 1 MagDK, for engulfing flames and Z'en.
3) You need 3 Magicka necromancers to maintain optimum major vulnerability up-time.
4) You now have 3 slots left for your "parse DDs". There is very little difference between Wardens, Templars, DKs and NB on a SINGLE TARGET fight. Top 2 would be NB and Warden - but you need to consider other things, most importantly cleave and trash DPS. Templar and Warden have excellent cleave and the best trash DPS as a result. Warden in particular can use destro ults more freely in trash and lose absolutely no DPS on the boss fights, as the bear ulti is double barred and the best option. Warden also can make lots of free slots and therefore have utility skills if required. As a result, I'm pretty convinced Warden is the best to fill these 3 roles in almost all scenarios.
What about MK? The DK just wears it right?
- Wrong! In our group, we have our friendly warden @Liko using MK: youtube.com/watch?v=4Lw_kBgYDXQ
- If the DK runs MK, he loses elfbane. This causes multiple issues. 1) Natural burning up-time on DK is around 50%-60%. You're relying on this DoT for Z'en - if you use elfbane this will EASILY be 90-100% as a result of the increased burning duration. 2) You'll also not really want to use talons without elfbane (is an option however), which is a fantastic DoT. If you don't use it, you'd be replacing them with something much weaker to get to your required 5 for Z'en. 3) The DK will just lose a lot of DPS from not having the set itself - it's very very strong. Taking mothers sorrow away from a warden is going to be a lot less harmful to its DPS than removing elfbane from a DK.
TLDR:
DK Main Tank
Warden/Templar Off tank
Templar/Warden Healer
Nightblade Healer
3x Warden DDs (one with MK)
3x Necro DDs
1x DK (Z'en + elfbane)
1x Sorc

Hope you enjoy this - the last Stamblade one was very popular so hoping this is received well in the same way. If you make it through the video I highly encourage you to read the description as I'll summarise all my points and also expand on them.
Some basics:
- Race: High Elf or Dark Elf
- Mundus: Shadow
- Food: Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl (Bistat)
Part 1: Setups
- Soul Harvest over Incap now. Spell strategist is the best single target set (outisde of Siroria of course) so front bar it when you can. I use mother's sorrow + siroria as your crit is horrible with siroria and spell strat.
- Thrassians: Add on by wheels esoui.com/downloads/info2645-ThrassianTracker.html This is going to be used in A LOT of places. Use it in trash: if you get 4 stacks or more, keep it for the boss by dropping 1 monster piece (unless you have too many stacks and get wasted by a mechanic).
- Monster helms: Maw is better than Zaan for single target. Domihaus is amazing on dragons in vSS and Illambris is a solid option for AoE too. Full guide from @Liko here: youtube.com/watch?v=SeumnYFH0P4
- Pre buff sets (missed in video): Jorvulds + Lokke/Moondancer/Elfbane. Elfbane prebuff to be used on boss fights where you have a destro and can cast it before the boss spawns. Example shown by @Warfire here: youtube.com/watch?v=50_6-tCeMHQ
Part 2:
- CMX: http://prntscr.com/srlnr1
- Rotation is keep up DoTs with priority order and follow soul harvest casts with as many blood for blood casts as possible, with a bow proc. Priority DoTs are 1. Blockade, 2. Twisting 3. Orb 4. Shade 5. Crippling Grasp.
- Depending on if the boss has a big hitbox or not, you may want to consider casting orb in execute. For example, it's definitely worth a cast in vSS on the dragons. Otherwise keep up twisting, minor force from trap, blockade and shade but only if you can get full duration.
- CP: Okay so CP barely makes any difference... AT ALL. I tried off balance CP which is really good in short fights, but something like the below link works great too (almost always want 15/16 in pen now as Torugs is a bad set to sue on support). http://prntscr.com/srlq3y (shoutout to
Part 3:
a) Pre buffing is very valuable - make sure you do it when possible! If you have a source of major slayer in the group (Roaring Opportunist from new trial or Master Architect DDs) then use Jorvuld's + Moondancer, otherwise use Jorvuld's + Lokke. AS mentioned previously, use elf bane destro pre buff on bosses that you are 'waiting for'
b) Learn the pace of the fight - holding onto a soul harvest/incap and casting it in major vuln + execute is going to net you way more DPS than if you don't. It's okay to slightly overcast some DoTs if it means they'll be up for the full duration of execute and your soul harvest.
c) If anyone tells you you can't use blood for blood they're just wrong. It's the best spammable by far - use it at all times when possible. Just avoid in vCR execute :)

Last AS video for the patch and current world record in Asylum Sanctorium - personal best DPS for me too although there are still a few mistakes I made where I could have pushed it further. I missed slayer at the start and kind messed up the start of my execute, so feels bad. Super pleased for everyone in the group + Deekri who was not here for the score :(

New char name = more DPS
Can't quite believe I'm posting this but here's a Magcro parse for the Greymoor patch. You can expect one more build video from me for Greymoor following this; somewhat of a detailed Magblade guide later on, much like my Stamblade one for Harrowstorm. I'll then have content for Stamblade, Magcro and Magblade on this channel, with my Stamcro content living on Liko's. Remember the best place to find all ESO related video content is on: liko.gg

So it looks like magcro, along with all other mag classes except magDK, gained DPS going into this patch. However, it didn't gain as much as some of the others as a result of the siphon back on GCD change. Not sure I'm convinced with this change at all but we'll see where it goes.
This class is pretty nasty to play if I'm honest. The weaving and animations feel quite uncomfortable with a staff (you can even see me having trouble during the parse) - so kudos to those who have mastered it as I certainly haven't!
Rotation is completely dynamic, using blastbones 1-in-3 skills. Priority DoTs should be unstable wall and orb in a raid scenario. I prioritise siphon a lot here as I found sometimes I wasn't able to cast it as a corpse was being consumed, causing more down time etc. Also in a raid, I'm sure this is even more of an issue so when you can refresh it, I would be more inclined to do so.
