Chit-Chat Tuesday Reflections Paul Goddard 2023-01-25 | From 1st March 2022 I (Paul Goddard) have been hosting the Chit-Chat Tuesday evenings on Exploring the Afterlife. I have found the shows incredibly enjoyable and I have interviewed some of the most amazing people in the paranormal field. Nutcracker Christmas at Avebury Manor Paul Goddard 2022-12-01 | On the 24th November we took a trip to Avebury Manor this year for their Christmas decorations. The chose the theme of The Nutcracker and all the decorations were made by the volunteers, mostly using recycled materials. This wonderful journey was a year in the making. Those of you that know The Nutcracker Ballet may be familiar with the story as we moved through the house. I've chosen three pieces of music from The Nutcracker for this video. Guy Fawkes Night Paul Goddard 2022-11-05 | Hi Everyone, for those of us in the UK I hope you are enjoying Guy Fawkes Night/Bonfire Night. As I uploaded a Halloween video and regular Christmas videos, I thought that I'd share another UK celebration which traditionally falls on 5th November, however, as I type this on 4th November I can hear fireworks. Here is a selection of shots I took at a couple of difference firework displays for Guy Fawkes from my Google photos. Again, this was just filmed for friends and family initially, hence a few in portrait mode which I don't usually do when uploading to YouTube. I hope you enjoy. The nursery rhyme (below) refers to the Gunpowder Plot. This took place actually on the 5th November, 1605. Unfortunately, I was ill and also the Queen had recently passed so we thought it was best to postpone. Below is Jayne's story, taken from her Facebook Community page. I'm share this live on my YouTube as well because accessibility affects so many people. Starting from the beginning… My name is Jayne, my hometown is Plymouth but we’ve lived most of our married life in Cornwall, for around 25 years (so far). I’ve been involved in the Paranormal for upward of 17 years and in that time I have unfortunately developed some illnesses that have changed life in a dramatic way. ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia, among other other things, have slowly lead to a decline in mobility and strength. This has caused a lot of weakness, much pain, reduced mobility, severe exhaustion, some neurological processing issues and more. As an investigator, the supernatural (specifically what we believe to be the afterlife or ghosts/spirits) has been a passion of mine since before I left school. I’ve learned more than I could list, been to some of the most haunted places in England and Wales. I’ve faced some incredible unexplainable happenings. Most times complete stillness and no activity was the story of many a nights Investigating. Met with my own scepticism, I’ve been able to explain away some ghostly claims. I am a total believer in the afterlife, I just don’t think that everything that happens or scares people is a paranormal occurrence. I’ve had one of the most frightening experiences of my life whilst investigating, seen things move with no logical explanation, heard disembodied voices coming out of thin air, seen phantom figures appear and disappear, alone and in front of a group of us. That honestly just scratches the surface! Now met with poor mobility and a deep yearning and need to continue investigating the unknown, I plan on new project whilst embracing my power chair and no longer trying to hide the affect the mobility and illness issues have on me as I’ve always done. I have only got to 17 years in the paranormal field because of the help, understanding and support of my dearest, closest and graciously patient friends who have been with me and helped in any way as on investigations and in every day life. Not so many years ago some of my paranormal colleagues and friends donated to buy me an electric wheelchair. I used this to make memories with my children so I could still do the ‘out and about’ social things with them that a iMum should do. For those memories I will always be grateful to those who supported me. I always wanted to use it to investigate but always thought it never possible. I’ve no idea why?! Some years on and with a new replacement, I have decided to take things that step further and use my mid wheel drive power chair to investigate. I am an ambulatory user, meaning that I’m lucky enough to be able to walk very short distances (where possible) with walking aids and other times use my wheels to scoot about independently. They allowed me access to unauthorised paths (officially accompanied) to be able to get the best shots for my filming. The engine was a diesel built in 1985 the details are: Simplex 101HP, works number 101T023 and was originally built to serve Hem Heath Colliery. I hope to turn up again to be able to film one of their steam locomotives. The following edited information is taken from a newsletter written by Maurice Wilsdon and sent to me by Mike Trapp, Chairman NGR Co. Ltd.:The Toddington Narrow Gauge Railway’s (officially called NGR.Co.) story begins in 1962 at Ashchurch where the Dowty engineering company had one of its factories. As was the norm in those days, this large employer had various social groups associated with it and one of these was the Dowty Preservation Society. This group of railway enthusiasts used sidings adjacent to the factory and to the Bristol to Birmingham mainline. As time went by, they gathered various locomotives, railway equipment, railway signs etc. The gradual establishment of preserved lines, coupled with growing uncertainty over the continued existence of the site’s connection to the mainline, led to these large locomotives being moved to other sites. Without going into too much detail here, I will ask if the NGR will allow the newsletter that this small amount of info has come from, to be posted on my Community page for those wishing to know more. One really pleasing thing for me to see at the Toddington Narrow Gauge Railway was the California Crossing Signal Box which used to be at Gloucester (my home town). Inside Gloucester Cathedral Paul Goddard 2022-04-10 | On 17th February we went around Gloucester Cathedral. Gloucester is my home town so I get to see this beautiful building a lot but I don't often film it or spend the amount of time we did on this occasion. Gloucester Cathedral holds the body of King Edward II and attracted a lot of pilgrims in the early days, now it's tourist. I filmed the Cloister Gardens; the Cloisters, which were used in the first two Harry Potter films. In the Cloisters you also get a shot of where the monks used to wash (the lavatorium) which was built in the late 14th century. I filmed the medieval stained glass; the Tribune Gallery and the Whispering Gallery (the Whispering Gallery is a bit dark for filming really, maybe I should go again with some lighting). I filmed views from the gallery down into the Cathedral as well as other shots including the Crypt which used in the Sherlock Christmas Special. Look out for in the Community post a photograph of the medieval stained glass showing a golfer and paw prints pointed out by my Liverpool friends that I had never noticed before. I'd like to say hello to two friends that came from Liverpool to visit me recently (you know who you are). They enjoyed touring Gloucester Cathedral so I hope this little video will remind them of their visit. Christmas at Mottisfont and Winchester Cathedral Paul Goddard 2021-12-22 | Hi Everyone, I am aware that there are comments that I need to reply to. I'll do all I can to respond during the Christmas break. I took a trip to both Winchester and Mottisfont, a National Trust property, 17th & 18th December. Both Winchester Cathedral and Mottisfont were used in the filming of some Ruth Rendell mysteries. Mottisfont was used in "A Guilty Thing Surprised", Winchester Cathedral was used in "Put On By Cunning" and "Heartstones". This video isn't for the Ruth Rendell film locations but rather a Christmas break to enjoy the area. I do know how to get in contact with Winchester Cathedral now which is great for the future. Wexford Documentary Update Paul Goddard 2021-11-05 | Hi Everyone, I did a community post about this the other day. I apologise that it has taken me such a long time to complete the Wexford documentary. Although I have been continuing to edit, my NLP and Hypnotherapy work plus family commitments have made the process slow. 17K Thank You Live from Claymills, Burton-upon-Trent Paul Goddard 2021-09-02 | This video was shot live at Claymills, Burton-upon-Trent. Claymills is a Victorian Effluent Pumping Station. It was active from 1885 to 1969. It was de-commissioned in 1971 and was due to be demolished, however, the person from the Council who was involved in signing the demolition order refused to do it as he was an enthusiast. My friend and I were on holiday in Burton-upon-Trent visiting this attraction and decided spontaneously to do my 17K thank you Live. We had a private tour and all Claymills wanted for the trouble was a donation which we gladly gave. After the tour we were allowed to look around at our own leisure. Wexford Filming - Bournemouth Paul Goddard 2021-06-18 | As promised, further news on the Inspector Wexford film locations. I have sorted out travel to Bournemouth as Portchester Castle and English Heritage still haven't got back to me despite endless attempts on my part. I'm sure Portchester will happen, however, I strongly felt that you deserved something filmed. This video explains why I have chosen this location. Witley Court and Gardens 16th May 2021 Paul Goddard 2021-06-07 | This video was filmed the day before the third stage of the unlocking process re. Covid. We thought going that day it might be quieter, however, plenty of others had the same idea. More people were at Witley than can be seen in this video as the grounds are quite extensive. We couldn't go inside the café because of the restrictions at the time, however, we enjoyed coffee and lunch underneath an umbrella and a personal marquee in the rain. You wouldn't believe this filming was done on the same day as we had rain, heavy rain and sunshine. Later on in the day my trusty umbrella and myself did a thank you video to all the wonderful and helpful comments on my Inspector Wexford blocking. Witley Court is an English Heritage venue. Last night I emailed the Chief Executive of English Heritage as I still haven't heard from their Filming Department about my Portchester Castle documentary. Hopefully it was received and read okay - it was a Monday morning that it would have been visible, I know what people say about receiving emails on a Monday! Thank you 😊 Paul Goddard 2021-05-16 | Now I'm back from my wonderful day out, I have time to add this description and a link to this beautiful place Witley Court and Gardens. We had a fascinating tour and I took lots of footage on my phone that I will put together into a video to upload soon. Behind me in this video is the famous fountain depicting the rescue of Andromeda by Perseus who is on the winged horse Pegasus fighting the Kraken. The two smaller fountains either side depict the Nereids. Bing Crosby wanted to buy this fountain but when they tried to dismantle it they found that the pieces had been joined together using dovetail joints and trying to dismantle it would have destroyed a lot of the parts. Bing Crosby withdrew his bid and the fountain was saved to be the dramatic centre piece of these beautiful gardens. The fountain is turned on every hour on the hour for twenty minutes.
