Wii Rainbow Road - Epic Big Band Version

Remember Me (from Coco) - Epic Orchestral Version

Compass Pictures - Composer 2023-11-02 | Coco might just be my favorite Pixar movie, and I have wanted to make this cover for a really long time!
That being said - "Remember Me" is - at least most of the time - a beautiful, quiet lullaby. This version is about as far from the original song as is humanly possible. I know that titles like "Epic Version" suggest that I think my version would be an improvement over the original - I know it isn't. Nothing I ever write will be as beautiful as that! Making these covers is simply my own way of celebrating the music I love. Nothing more, and nothing less!

Anyway, I really hope you enjoy this cover! I originally planned to write it months ago, but I just remembered yesterday, so I was in quite a rush whilst writing it. I do hope you like it anyways!

At first, I had no idea what emotions the music is supposed to convey and thought about listening to the official Bridgerton soundtrack, but then I decided to just write whatever came to my mind. Who knows, perhaps this is completely wrong, but I kind of like the music I came up with - I hope you like it, too!

Avengers: Age of Ultron - Epic Orchestral Version

Compass Pictures - Composer 2022-08-12 | I've actually been working on this cover for over a year now, but it's been incredibly difficult, and I never really liked what I came up with - until now. After the Indiana Jones cover last week, which I'm really proud of, I decided to give Age of Ultron another try, and this time I'm actually happy with it; it hope you like it as well!
Age of Ultron's incredible soundtrack has always stood out to me; not just because of Brian Tyler's and Danny Elfman's incredible compositions, but also because it was one of the first times the MCU decided to reuse one of their old themes. But instead of simply taking Alan Silvestry's Avengers theme, Danny Elfman decided to write his own version of it - and it's amazing! It sounds unique, but is still recognizable, which is really difficult to accomplish. I love this theme, and I'm really proud I've finally managed to cover it!

Harry Potter: Hedwigs Theme - Epic Orchestral Remix

Compass Pictures - Composer 2022-04-30 | I've been a huge Harry Potter fan since I was a child, and Hedwig's theme is one of my favorite themes of all time. The original is an incredibly magical piece, and probably one of John Williams' best works - which says a lot.

I know that I called this an "Epic Orchestral Remix", and that title might be a little bit misleading. "Epic Orchestral" doesn't just mean that a piece sounds epic; "Epic Orchestral" is a genre. The most epic version of Hedwig's theme is the original by John Williams, and I could never even get close to it. What I've been trying to do with this channel instead is to transform the music I love. Not into something better - most of it is perfect anyways - but into something different. I've always found it interesting to hear the same piece of music in different genres, and that is the purpose of my channel.
That disclaimer out of the way, I really hope you like this! It's quite different to the original, but I wanted to try something new.

The Show Must Go On - Epic Orchestral Remix (Freddie Mercury Tribute)

Compass Pictures - Composer 2021-11-24 | On this day, thirty years ago, Freddie Mercury passed away. Even in his final days, he still wrote and recorded songs that are amongst the all-time greats. "The Show Must Go On", written by guitarist Brian May, is about how hard Freddie worked to create music, no matter how sick he was.

I have been a Queen fan since I was 8 years old, and "The Show Must Go On" is one of my favourite songs of all time. I don't have much time at the moment, but I knew I had to make this cover today. This might be the first time I both started, finished, and uploaded a cover on the same day - I really hope you like it anyways!

One quick note about the nature of this cover: "Epic Orchestral" is a genre. Of course, the original is far more epic than this version - I couldn't improve upon it, no matter how hard I tried - this is simply an arrangement in a different genre. If you believe that Queen's songs should better be left untouched by people like me, I completely understand. Making a cover is simply the best way I know to honor the music I love.

I felt inspired by Michael Giacchino's wonderful soundtrack to "Super 8", one of my favourite film scores of all time. I first had the idea several months ago, but I've had to start all over again several times because I wasn't happy with how it turns out. Then, about two weeks ago, I just decided to finish it, no matter what.

I really like Tyler Bates' epic soundtrack for the amazing Guardians Of The Galaxy films. It'sone of the most iconic and famous themes in the MCU, and one of only few themes that carried over to the next movie.
Usually, I try to finish a cover at least a day before I upload it, but this week I didn't have much time, so I worked on it, right before I had to upload it. There are a few smaller issues I'd have fixed if I had more time, but overall, I think I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I hope you like it, too!

Jurassic Park: The Lost World (Epic Dark Battle Remix)

I recently got ComposerCloud and wanted to try it out here. Most of the Percussion here is from StormDrum 2; this is the first library specifically designed for "epic" percussion that I've used, and I think it sounds amazing! I really had a lot of fun writing this cover, especially the percussion! I really hope you like it!

A Childs Discovery - #DiscoveryCompetition

Compass Pictures - Composer 2020-11-07 | This is my entry for the Orchestral Tools #DiscoveryCompetition. I tried to write the music for a scene in which a child discovers a new world for the first time, and all the wonder and excitement that comes with it.

This track was inspired by the wonderful Soundtracks of John Williams, especially his amazing soundtrack to Jurassic Park. While I've tried to pay homage to his style before, this might have been the first time I really tried to emulate a lot of his style, and it was just as difficult as I expected. He truly is a genius when it comes to orchestration, and this might have been the hardest-to-write track I've ever done. Nonetheless, I'm very happy with the result, and I hope you enjoy it, too!

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Epic Emotional Cinematic Remix

Compass Pictures - Composer 2020-10-31 | I have thought about uploading something a little more Halloween-related, but I sadly ran out of time, so I continued my work on the MCU series instead. Perhaps next year!

In the following months I'll try to upload an epic cover of every single MCU soundtrack; all in chronological order.

Henry Jackman's original theme for Captain America is one of the most intimate and personal themes in the entire MCU; you could almost describe it as the polar opposite to Alan Silvestri's theme for the first movie. Of course, the problem with a cover like this one is that no matter how quiet and small the original theme may be, the cover always sounds huge and loud by definition. Another problem I faced this time is the very unusual time signature (5/4) that is used throughout most of the soundtrack. I felt like it simply wouldn't fit with my style of music, so I ended up changing it.
Still, I think I'm quite happy with the end result; I hope you like it as well!

Holiday Celebration

Compass Pictures - Composer 2020-10-24 | The EastWest Hollywood Orchestra - Silver Edition was the first professional sample library I ever bought, and I've used it on pretty much everything since then. Especially the wonderful brass section has an incredibly powerful, epic sound, and when the news about the Opus Edition upgrade came up, I tried to write a demo track, only using the Hollywood Orchestra.
This actually isn't the first time I'm writing a track using only samples from the Hollywood Orchestra, but the last time was about a year ago, and I've learned a lot since then. It actually took me quite a bit of time to figure out how to best use this sample library, but I'm really proud of what I came up with - I hope you like it as well.

As some of you might have noticed, I'm kind of going through a bit of a John Powell phase, so - of course - this was inspired by his soundtracks for animated films, especially for the How To Train Your Dragon trilogy.

Minecraft: Sweden - Epic Orchestral Emotional Remix

I know I'm not the first one to do a remix of Sweden, but I still tried to bring something original to the table, and I had a lot of fun doing it! Minecraft was a huge part of my (and everyone else's) childhood, and this made me feel really nostalgic.

Like several of my covers, I was really inspired by Blakus' amazing music for the final Rise of Skywalker trailer; I really hope you like it!

We will Triumph - Epic Orchestral Track

The task was to compose a track, using at least one of several provided drum sounds (including loops). I decided to write a track, inspired by John Powell's amazing film compositions for movies like How to train your Dragon or Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Thor: The Dark World - Epic Orchestral Heroic Remix

Thor: The Dark World might just have the most epic, god-like soundtrack ever written, and this cover proved to be quite a challenge. Usually, the purpose of these so-called "epic" covers (or remixes, whatever you want to call them), is to take a theme, written in one style of orchestration, and rearrange it into another. That way, I can both explore and learn how epic trailer music works, as well as how the original piece of music was build.
This theme, however, has probably already perfected the newer, more hybrid style of cinematic music (like pretty much everything that Brian Tyler writes - seriously, he is a genius!), while it also keeps the energy and grand feeling of more traditional, "old-school" soundtracks. I guess, what I'm trying to say is: this theme is perfect, and when I was arranging it, I had no idea what I was doing for most of the time.
Nonetheless, I'm pretty proud of the end result. Brian Tyler's soundtrack for Thor: The Dark World is one of my favorites from the MCU, and I really hope you enjoy this cover!!!

After the Sacrifice

You'll probably notice that I didn't feature any woodwinds in this; that's just because I wanted to focus on the strings (and also because I'm pretty bad at writing for woodwinds).

I've always wanted to write something inspired by Michael Giacchino's beautiful soundtrack for Super 8 - one of my favorite soundtracks of all time - and I thought that the smaller, more nuanced sound of the Studio Orchestra would fit perfectly!

How To Train Your Dragon - Epic Orchestral Emotional Remix

Compass Pictures - Composer 2020-09-19 | John Powell's soundtrack for the excellent How To Train Your Dragon trilogy is one of my favorite soundtracks of all time and I've wanted to arrange a cover of it for quite some time.

However, his very distinct, complicated style of orchestration has always made it very difficult to re-arrange his themes into a more simple, so-called "epic" style (Of course, the original version is far more epic than my cover; the word "epic" - as I'm using it - is a specific style of orchestration, often used in Trailer Music).

A few days ago, I finally decided to get around to it anyways, and this is what I came up with; I really hope you like it! Let me know what you think!

Brian Tyler is one of my favorite composers for action movies, and this was the soundtrack that introduced me to his music. It's incredibly powerful, and when I heard the main theme for the first time, I immediately thought: this is the perfect superhero theme; this is how Iron Man has to sound! It's one of my favorite themes from the MCU, and I was really looking forward to this cover.
