I couldn't see anything new this guy has for NG+, seems the same to me.

I forgot to turn my mic off, so apologies for the background noise.
I didn't include the first part of the fight, because I don't do that part no roll. The no roll strat involves running around like a retarded chicken and letting the knights fight eachother.
I really don't have a lot of love for the fight since it embodies everything that I think is wrong with the game. Gank fight at the start, god tier tracking on some moves, and cockadookie mumblefuck nonsense hitboxes. As a matter of fact, one of the only reasons this is consistent is because you can exploit a bad hitbox on his 180 backstep slash by hugging his body. It will pass through you and deal no damage if you stand in the right spot (coincidentally, the other side of him has a TERRIBLE hitbox for that same attack that will fuck you).
The double horizontal sweep is always safe to 3 hit punish on this version because he can't input read cancel into the big slam. The only thing he has that is more dangerous than his counterpart is the ability to follow up the double ground pound combo chain with a slam, however, I've found a way to manipulate his AI into pretty much never using it. If you swing in between the first and second ground pound, he will pretty much never cancel into the slam if you time it right.
His range game is also severely neutered, opting to shoot stupid bees instead of falcon punches and sweeps, so he is easier to approach as well.
As for the worm head, it is annoying if you approach him head on, but if you approach him at an angle, you can abuse the fact that it only goes in a straight line. By baiting out the worm thrust, you can hit his hands.
To make it even better, staying near his hands to hit them often prompts him to follow up with a second worm thrust, turning it into a 3-4 hit opening.
The other worm attack is the follow up after the slam, but it takes so long and is so easy to avoid that it turns the slam into a three hit opening whereas before you could only safely get one or two.
This fight is mostly predicting when he's going to use his slam attack, and learning his AI. He actually is almost identical AI-wise to soul of cinder's javelin phase, funnily enough. He also gains input reading on certain attacks in phase 2 that allow him to detect attacks and respond with the slam.
Case in point, the double horizontal swipes he does. In phase 2 I stagger my second r1 and make sure it doesn't come out until I'm all the way behind him.
Interestingly enough, after the slam, hitting his head is an extremely safe opening. In my attempts he would always follow it up with safe attacks that went over my head.
I've tried to write up an explanation on how his AI works, but I just can't sufficiently articulate it because I'm a retard.
The main important thing about his AI that you manipulate is that if he uses an attack that isn't a defensive move (Side spin swipes, slam, backstep kick), and you aren't under him at the time the attack is used, he won't use any of the defensive moves on your approach to him.
E.g, you're long range and he uses falcon punch, you can approach him knowing with certainty that he won't open with the slam or the backstep kick.
You also should never approach him when he's moving from side to side, as he can and will use his defensive moves like the slam if you do. Wait for him to start running towards you and react to what he does.
His phase 1 is tight on timing, moreso than is shown in the video.
You also have to pay attention to his swings, if he starts a combo in phase 1 with his right arm (your left), it isn't safe to go under him because he will often do his spin shit instead of the horizontal swings.
You have to wait until he his attacking in phase 1 to approach him, because if you just run up to him, his quick right hand swing will hit you most of the time.
If he swings with his right arm and whiffs, it is safe to just go around him regardless of what he does, as he won't be able to swing with that arm again until he does something else.
Phase 2 is just about keeping a proper distance so he can't use his longer range attacks, he only really does the same two attacks in melee range.
Worth noting is that this strategy would be ridiculous with beast pellets considering that every opening is punished with l1s.
Some of his melee swings have a very small sweet spot where you have to position very precisely to avoid (namely the slash after the thrust and the charge spin).
This a boss that I once thought to be super-rng based because of his dumbass fire spike shit in phase 2, but I discovered that it works the same way as nameless lightning bolt - if the elder isn't in view of the camera, it won't hit you.
This attack discourages aggression in phase 2 because he can use it in melee range and you're pretty much fucked if he does, so that's why I play so far back in phase 2.
He also does his stupid ass no wind-up crossbow shit that almost killed me in phase 2.
An interesting fact about this boss is that in phase 2, his ai chooses either the double fire spin tiki dance shit or his Gwyn jump to use. He will not use both attacks in the same fight as far as I'm aware. The spin is the better move to get, since the jump is extremely buggy and he often animation cancels it into something else.
Going back in my off time to make some better strategies for certain chalice bosses since the strats for a lot of them suck dick. I always hated how my strategy for this guy was to play like a pussy and run away the entire fight, so I figured out how to bash his skull in.
This guy isn't too bad except for his little double bitch slap which has a hitbox the size of africa.
That's the reason I position so oddly and end up being really far away from him after he uses that attack - the hitbox might as well be the whole body.
This is my first fight of this type that I've done, and for a reason - these walking only kills usually boil down to the boss never using certain moves and having be a shitshow rng fuckfest.
Sadly, this fight is no different - there are two main scenarios where RNG will kill you. The first is if he uses the backstep into flying fire breath, however, this can be avoided SOMETIMES if he backs into the wall of the arena and doesn't gain much distance on you.
The second are the pursuers, if he uses them its gg unless someone else figures out a way to deal with them.
Now, the other attack that is missing from this kill is his huge fuckfest laser barrage - this is actually 100% avoidable and is the BEST move he can possibly use, as it gives you immense opportunity to hit his head. While he didn't use it here, I recorded a video on how to avoid it if he does here - youtube.com/watch?v=U0n7lLPbs9Y

That feel when phase 2 took about as long as my first NG no roll kill because the flamberge is amazing. This fight isn't the most fun to watch no roll because phase 1 is just running around like an idiot. -- Watch live at twitch.tv/tolomeor
At the start of phase 2, I get him in a mini ai-loop where he keeps turning, this is because he pretty much always starts with the fireball move if you are that close to him, and he turns like that when trying to use said move. You can consistently get 4-5 hits on him with that method every attempt provided you are in the right spot.

i need to get better at the rotations and aiming on this fight, its surprisingly hard to hit this guy in the head. I got gael in this run but I'm not gonna upload the video since I used a lot of estus due to get hit by fire waves over and over. -- Watch live at twitch.tv/tolomeor
All main mission bosses in nioh in NG+/Way of the Strong without utilizing the following - armor, rolling, dodging (the mid/low stance i-frame dodges), blocking, parrying or consumables. Minimal skill use was utilized - grapple and the passive damage boosts primarily.

i played like a super pussy in the last 2 minutes of the fight because i died twice with 1 eyeball left in previous attempts and i just wanted to be finished.
sometimes hitting him in the back will cause a mini-stagger that lets him insta-tentacle his back region and the same thing killed me both times.
you can see an example of the mini stagger right before the last set of eyeballs comes out.

Only thing I noticed is his head slam thing after he recovers from stagger, which funnily enough gives you more time to wail on his hand.

You can't stay close to him in NG+ worth a fuck because his speed and tracking is increased by like 200%. This boss goes from being one of the easiest to being a real pain in the ass with the speed boost.

Basically, you align your back to the hole in the bridge when he's in high stance (holding the axe on his shoulder), then when he approaches, run to your right around him and you should be able to consistently knock him off with the kusa. Make sure he isn't buffed when you do this or he won't stagger.
I fucked it up really bad in this video and still managed to pull it off.
Not a particularly exciting fight to watch but maybe it'll help you figure out the openings if you're struggling with it.

And with that, the NG level 1 no roll run is complete, this boss was a lot harder than I expected, second only to Ishida in difficulty.
if the audio is out of sync, i apologize. my capture card is shit.

Phase 2 is hectic because its extremely difficult to stay in close range for an extended period of time. His aoe wind wave every fucking where attack forces you into mid range where he has a few attacks (namely the white dragon) that aren't always dodgeable, and you can't safely get into melee range unless you get him to jump off the ledge and wait for him.
You can 100% stagger him once per wind phase by either breaking his head or his tail, so in phase 2 the objective is to hit the tail for a lot of damage as well as massive ki damage.
So the current strat is pussyfooting around the arena unfortunately..

I decided to not deal with the adds on this fight. Incase you don't know, you can talk to the npc at the start of the level to get flint and light braziers throughout the level. Each of the three braziers prevents a slime from spawning. Still took five minutes without adds. -- Watch live at twitch.tv/tolomeor
