Dan mental state is getting worst, and soon he starts visiting a rooftop to clear his mind, but the reason soon changes to jump. However each day his imagination creates someone new to convince him. A stranger at first, then a colleague, and then a friend. When Dan sees Stephen though, he is shocked. To need Stephen of all people to convince himself not to jump, was his state that bad. Of course he doesn't jump that day but he takes note of the state he is in. Next time he sees Hosuh, he is even more shocked now. Sweet bread Hosuh is needed now? The most nicest and sweetest person in the group is needed to convince him now? He is disgusted in himself, he hates himself so much in that one moment. He couldn't show his face to the imagination till it was over. This is when Dan's cutting gets worst, cause at first it was only at the arms, but now its spread onto his shoulder and thighs. Over time, He gets better, or worst, it was a constant slide between close friends, acquaintances, and people he hadn't talk to in a long time.The next time he visits the roof, he sees someone so familiar, but at the same time, nothing alike. When he asks them to stop, he figures it out. Its himself. Out of all the people left, its himself he needs to convince. When the mask is shattered, Dan chokes, is that what he looks like now. The bags, the tired eyes. The bandages so high till his neck. And himself, wearing a smile that doesn't even curl up. Dan felt a wave of confusion, was he already this bad. This terrible. He hated it. He hated himself more and more. Dan could not take the fact that his inner voice was this desperate. That HE was this desperate. He hated it. The last words of his clone being "I guess today is not the day." Broke him immensely, if today wasn't the day, then I guess it will be tomorrow.The last time visits the roof top, no one is there to stop him. Instead, they hang out with him. Each and everyone of his figments of imagination.He talks to them. He talks about his problems, how it was to much, everything. He had been doing this for months. He didn't need anymore convincing, his mind was made up. And they slowly disappear, one by one. Till only Dan is left. And then he jumps.When Daniel wakes up, he sighs. It startled Hosuh and Stephen, who sat across form each other at the foot of Daniel hospital bed. Daniel looked around the Hospital room, taking note of the new bandages that moved along. He was almost covered in them. It seemed he did fell on his arm, looking at the cast. And slightly knocked his head, but the rest were for his self-made wounds. Turning his attention back to the two other boys, they had been screaming at him. Hosuh asking if he was alright, and that if he wanted water. Stephen yelling at him if he was retarded, and that they will always be here to talk to "you pineapple idiot". And in that moment, Dan felt a wave of disappointment, not at his friend, no at himself. Even when he made his mind up, Daniel could not die. He was so bad that he could not die. And in a long time, after months of lying to them, Dan said what was exactly on his mind.
