But if I were to find love it would be with someone who did not know me online or in person, so they did not know all of my mental illness problems first. Tyler knew everything about my mental illness before we started talking and still fell for me.

Planning a wedding for under $3000, I almost skipped hiring a wedding videographer... but I really really really wanted something to share with my YouTube friends! Along with simply capturing our vows.
Wedding Fun Facts: 1) We got married on a Wednesday, it was our shared birthday 2) My car broke down on the day of the wedding! (Leaving me on the side of the road with the cake.) 3) Everyone ran late and everything went wrong. I was on the highway and they couldn’t set up without me, I gave the photographer the wrong address, I obviously couldn’t get ready in time (see: highway). None of it mattered in the end. 4) It started sprinkling rain five minutes before the wedding started 🤦♀️ 5) I made all of the flower arrangements for the wedding with fake flowers - (besides the bridesmaid’s bouquets and the centerpieces which were made by the bridesmaids and my bridal shower guests). 6) We ate Indian food from a local restaurant at the reception (A decision made because of my food intolerances that totally worked out) 7) We had a gluten-free cake from Sans Gluten Artisan Bakery in Johnston, RI and everyone LOVED IT. I wanted to make everyone to eat gluten-free so they'd know it's not terrible and not only was it not terrible, it was AMAZING! Everyone complimented us on it, so I know they liked it. 😂 8) The cake was vanilla with caramel between the layers - 10/10 recommend the vanilla caramel delight 9) We played folk music at the reception - just folk music, and it was played by one of Tyler’s close friends 10) We went to a cabin in New Hampshire for a short honeymoon, where we hiked and ate duck sausage for the first time 11) The wedding was a perfect representation of Tyler & I, unconventional and eclectic but traditional where it counts. So much went wrong, but none of it mattered! If you want to learn how to accept imperfection, definitely plan a wedding
I've been absent on the chan since mid-June because of stuff happening behind the scenes, including getting engaged. An update video is definitely in order!

This year the IOCDF hosted a video campaign, where they asked us all to make videos about what it truly looks like to have OCD. It may be late in the game, but this is my contribution. Think of it as dessert. :D It being midterms season, it isn't my most thoughtful piece quality-wise. However, the words come from my heart. I had to do an exposure to the fact that it wouldn't be perfect. I did, on the bright side, realize I can make a video without repeating every line 20x, only have 4 minutes of footage, and then edit it in one night. That makes me think I can totally handle making videos more frequently... It's not like I don't have bundles of ideas up in my brain. I hope you enjoy, learn, and grow in your understanding of OCD.

But when efforts failed to have someone else veiw it, I thought, "eh, why not?" That said, I haven't watched it in a few weeks and don't know if I said anything cringey in it haha! Let me know! Haha.
Anyway, for a more recent update: I'm working on writing scripts again & doing exposures again because my lovely therapist is prompting me through text & email reminders. I'm excited to start filming things for this channel again SOON! It may have to be bad quality or on my phone, but I miss this. I never want to stop making videos, ever. So don't expect me to give up that easily.
ALSO, I published the ShalomAleichem 2016 survey for you guys to help me with my channel. I forgot to mention it in this video, but next time I make one it'll be my official announcement on Youtube and I'll make a deadline for when I'll take it down. I would really appreciate the help. Lately, lack of motivation has kept me from creating videos like I want to. Anxiety about what could go wrong has led to procrastination. Then I feel guilty because I procrastinated, which leads to more procrastination! I WANT to make videos, but because of this rut I'm in, it's not happening.
But all this avoidance only makes it worse (the fear and not living how I want). I need to just do it! I hoped these prompts would help.

Today's video I am taking you through a day in my life as a full time college student in recovery from obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Included are discussions about time management, how perfectionism affects my school work, and how I do exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP) "imaginal/script" exposures, (hopefully) 3-4 times a week.
When starting this series, I enjoyed filming this day so much that I thought I should film my whole month! :o I filmed two days after this one, but then one week went by and I didn't film. Then two weeks. And at that point I realized the "Vlog Everyday In November" thing is not working, haha! HOWEVER, that's only the bad news. The good news is that I have written it into my calendar to film the last three days of November next week. :) So it's really more like "vlog the begining and end of November- VBAEN". Wow. Maybe I should just call it "Birdabo" like Pewdiepie lol!
Filming the begining and in feels like a wonderful idea to me, because I can compare and contrast how I felt in the begining of the month to the end of the month. But with only 6 videos! Which is more convienient for you to watch, I'm sure! :)
Anyway, I love you guys! I'm sorry for waiting 6 weeks before posting a vlog. I didn't mean to, but that's just how things worked out. I've been having a really hard time with OCD and depression symptoms. Along with that, school has been incredibly difficult and stressful. Possibly more than any semester I've had yet.
So with OCD getting in the way of my time management, school work, and things I love like editing, I've had hardly any time to finish a video and get it out to you guys.
Right now its Thanksgiving in the US (happy Thanksgiving 'Muricans!), so I'm on a school vacation. :) I am very thankful for three days to relax. And now that school pressure is less strong, I have felt much better about spending time working on videos. That's why you get this "Thanksgiving special" hahaha.
Anywho, hope ya'll enjoy this video and the daily vlog November series! Know that the next couple days' videos will be much shorter than 20 minutes. ;) I am notorious for filming wayyy too much without realizing how long it is! I got this down to 20 minutes from around 50, so consider yourselves blessed! :)

SO just as I started filming and editing more, school started! Now I've been extremely busy, too busy to edit during the week. However, I've decided Sundays will be my video days. We'll see what happens!
I'm quite disappointed in myself for not filming/editing/posting as much as I'd like to. :( A recovery vlog/update may be in order. What doesn't help is that the video I'm working on now is really hard for me to upload. I kind of don't want to, but I think I should. It just makes me feel meh to work on it.

Hey, well this is awkward. I apologize for not posting these when I said I would and waiting 3 weeks. D: I had a lot of stress with editing these videos and I wasn't even sure if I wanted to put them up. This will be explained in day 2 of the daily vlogs.
Also, my therapist and I have decided to forgo my video schedule for now because my perfectionism was causing me to procrastinate so much I never got anything done. Unless I filmed more than one video at once and sent all but one to an editor. Sooo, this lead to me being more relaxed about getting videos up on time. BUT the good news is, I've been more happy, and I've actually felt like filming! So I've been filming more than usual and the videos aren't so forced. Actually, they are spontaneous. When I wasn't trying to be perfect, I was able to film right when I got the idea. Rather than waiting for the "right time" (there is no right time!), then procrastinating out of stress, then having lots of breakdowns, until I forced myself to do it. And of course it's not as good if it's forced.
So thank you for your patience and I hope you didn't miss me too much!

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is an illness that effects 2-3% of the US population. 50% of those OCD cases are severe. So what is keeping people from getting proper treatment?
OCD is classified as one of the top ten most disabling illnesses by the World Health Organization, in terms of lost earnings and diminished quality of life. Despite this, it takes on average 14-17 years from diagnosis for a sufferer to receive effective treatment. I've seen first hand how OCD sneaks into a person's life. It creates havoc. It sneaks into everything you love, bit by bit. Before you know it you're not you anymore. You're OCD.
After battling OCD at the age of 16 I gained a passion for raising awareness of mental illness. Once I learned there is a treatment for this terrible disorder, I knew I wanted to give other sufferers the same information. In 2014 I created a YouTube channel dedicated to raising awareness of mental illness. Mostly focusing on OCD.
However, I just have a few blogs. The International OCD Foundation works tirelessly to help people with OCD. They spread only the best information, guide people to the proper treatment, and help people know they're not alone. I wish I knew about them when I was really struggling! That's why I have created my own fundraising page for the International OCD Foundation, so you and I can help them in their amazing efforts!
Last year I went to the OCD Walk in Boston with Team Bradley Hospital. I went to their intensive outpatient program for OCD and love them dearly! It's the therapy they taught me, exposure and response prevention, that changed my life from constant OCD to me again. Since last year's walk I have moved down south and am now closer to Atlanta.
My dad and I will be walking as "Team Shalom Aleichem" in the International OCD Foundation's annual 5k walk. If any of my subscribers and friends are going to this walk, feel free to join our team! Soooooo about the dirty lens. My lens has been dirty for years. I actually used two lenses for this video, both of which are dirty. Now, I'll have you know I clean my lens regularly. These spots are deep within the lens and not on the surface. Therefore, I do not know how to clean them! If you know about cameras, please let me know or point me to a tutorial. I looked this up years ago and couldn't find anything that helped, so I just gave up. I've learned to just look past them. Please don't be bothered by them! They add to the aesthetic. :)
