Masquayla the Splendid
Lament | Genesis Remix
updated
Nightmare Fredbear is fun though.
I really liked adding the detail to his photo album thing, with the tears from his claws.
(I also liked implying a narrative with the pictures themselves. Like he's going around flashbanging his pals for lols, until it gets to Balloon Boy.)
I cannot, with the Nightmare's Minecraft lookin withering and coloration patches, so I usually give them a torn plushie motif instead.
This would be the first time I draw Secret Mimic, or M2. I knew right away I wanted to make the exterior chompers look like around-the-head braces, and his forehead cavern heart shaped.
No crazy brushes were used, except for the splatter background. Everything else is your standard felt tip pen and airbrush.
I didn't have any remixes on hand for this occasion, so I just put the instrumental to "We Don't Bite" by JTMusic.

Yeah, "I Got No Time" is good, but when I think Fnaf 4, this is the representative song that comes to mind.
I made it at 12fps, because I was trying to pull off a stop motion typa feel. 🥲 (It woulda been 12fps anyway if I put it at 24, because then I'd be animating on 2s.)
It was surprisingly easy to get the hang of, but that's probably because I learned animation the hard way, so everything else is a breeze.
What I DON'T like though is how finicky everything is. I go to work on the jumpscare, and then the walk cycle has him breaking his joints. They also REALLY wanted their right arm to T-pose at the beginning. I heard that's just classic Valve for you.
If I either get a new computer, or I get a good graphics card and another hard drive, maybe I'll try Blender instead.
I like how I did the jumpscare though. Something about his eyes being all googly, and the very Fnaf 1 format.
First one is my usual style of remixing ost, where I try to find the most comparable instrument to the original.
Second one is me going ham on over-the-top arcade sounds and having a grand ol time.
The song is is 3/6 until after the build up, then it switches to 6/8.
(I tried 6/8 for the first half, but it doesn't work with the poly-rhythm the bass is doing. Keeping it complex, Leon. Me like.)

I put them all under a track with an EQ that's raising the higher frequencies.
"Babality" comes from MK3, and "Possessed Room" comes from SplatterHouse3.
Funny the instruments I used for a happy bubbly game I ripped from two very brutal ones as a base.
Here's the original so you can compare.

The Ennard voice is me. I'm doing that kind of robot voice where you like, inhale and clench your throat while you speak? Then I added a bunch of filters to make it sound like the garbled voice on Night 2, but sped up so the words are discernable.
I did a voice claim for him a WHILE ago, but I don't think Ennard's voice would be the same twice. Here, is what I would call "speaking with their hardware and not their software."
I would change a few things about the time skip filler, but I really wanted to focus on fleshing out the bots. Something needs to be gained or resolved before you set them on fire. Like how Scrap Baby implies someone tried empathizing with her and (maybe) lived.
Thank you friend Mike for being Mike for 4 words.
Idk I kinda defaulted to Fritz=Mike.
I like this running gag of the animatronics mistaking him for William in EVERY game. (Or that anyone that works at a Fazbear's and shares a name with an MCI is doomed a terrible fate.)
This was an ear training challenge. I took a couple ambient tracks from 1&2, and jotted down every discernable note. I then tailored them to be more listenable as songs.
This idea came to me while I was pondering the odd musical quality that "scary space B" from Fnaf2 has. Especially at around 20 seconds.
(Yes, I tried the iconic "metal tube" from Fnaf 1. Didn't sound too great as regular incidental music. A couple of them would be great stingers though.)

The rest were all presets on Chipsynth, my SNES plugin.
EXCEPT for the "bweow" sound heard in the one with Ennard. It was supposed to be the one heard with Ballora, but Chipsynth is a little more restrictive with editing the soundwave, since SNES music is based on samples. So, I used a different synth plugin I found for free.
Artwork is finished parts of Bolts4Brains, reference sheets, or colored sketches.
"What's the story behind this one, why is this something you decided to sit in front of a computer for 5 hours to work on?" You might ask.
Usually I have something on in the background while I draw, and well.
You see those BidyBab drawings I did to prepare myself for animating a scene with them? Those immaculately shaped Michelin Man DoughBoy robots, complete with an iconic Rankin-Bass perma smile?
I had Saturday Supercade on. I can't watch cartoon and draw picture simultaneously, so I'm left with static voice acting and the most sploinky doinky soundtrack, accompanied by 10 Hannah Barbara sfx every 2 seconds.
"Wow that turned out great really fast! I wonder if what I listen to affects how my drawings look? I'm gonna make some songs with similar instruments in mind, tailored for SL."
I listened to it nonstop while I drew Ennard at the end, proving my hypothesis. However, I draw him a LOT, so maybe it'd be more fair if I drew a character less familiar to my hand. 🤔

Yeah I know 1-4 is stock music. 2's is called 'Sand Temple' iirc, but I cannot visualize such a thing upon listening. The updated version almost hits the same, but the instrumenation is very AR sounding.
I couldn't think of anything to draw for this, so I just piled any Fnaf2 related things of mine. That unfinished animation of Withered Bonnie has been sat on for a while, just because I'm indecisive with my Jeremy design. The other one I did, I just used whatever was in the 2015 folder in my head without second thought.
The sfx and music I sampled from Sonic SatAM. The Withered Bonnie voice lines came from Jaze Cinema.
The Chadtronic clip is from a video talking about Starburst's surplus of pink flavor from like, 2019?

I noticed SatAM might be more based on Sonic 1, like how AoStH is based on 2. Robotropolis looks a lot like Scrap Brain Zone, and Final Zone's music bears a few similarities with this theme when slowed down.

I don't know why I never thought of bit-crushing my string instruments. It reminds me of this G3 Pony web game I used to play in like 2010, where you would drag and drop things to make a scene. The music was so compressed, and had a very obvious looping point.
Like the rest of my music, the instruments are all Arcade/Sega and Snes.
Not sure why the TV button click is there though. It's not part of either of the audio files.

I just finished this mix a couple days ago.
Some things with the storyboard have changed, and I now have 2 fully animated clips.
Maybe I shouldn't make so many SFM renders for reference. I think it'll just incentivize me to draw them biblically accurate instead of stylized. It's useful for backgrounds though.
I was almost gonna record the Funtimes saying things depending on what screen you're on, like a lot of 2000's movies, but that's a little too ahead of the time and "budget" of the style I'm going for. Although VHS could not do the whole "select a feature" thing DVDs can, (at least, not to my knowledge,) the primative quality is mostly for sprinkles. Or someone is recording a DVD select screen on a crusty blank VHS.
The click and low buzz sound are recorded from my mini CRT TV. The microphone can't pick up the super high "EEEEEEEEEEEE" frequency that ears can, so I fabricated a more tolerable version on Audacity, and added some noise.
The song is done, I just gotta draw every frame to the accompanying video.
You should definitely play this in reverse if you have a means of doing so. ;]
I used a very obscure game called "The New Zealand Story," (or "Kiwi Kraze," for the NES port,) as a reference for this whole shabang. This, and a few other games were on a collection game I played on the Uno-less Xbox. It's not a ridiculously difficult game, but it can be pretty unforgiving. There are some awkward tonal shifts that if you were a kid, comes off kind of off-putting. (7 times outta 10, kid me would quit before the whale.) That pretty much fits how this minigame is.
The way Fnaf portrays retro games is...a little confusing.(surprise.) If Baby's game can afford a background instead of a blank board, wouldn't the sprites and music follow up? The aforementioned game came out in the same window of time CBPW happened, so that's my frame of reference for how arcades looked and sounded. (New ones, anyway.)
Yeah yeah, I know how fnaf is. It's just for show. But the more you know, the more you know that you don't know, y'know?

This is my second Fnaf cosplay. I did Roxy last year, but I only have that one on the Community tab.
The hands and ghost prop were the only things changed that I didn't document.
It takes like a few minutes to suit up, but my mobility and vision are limited, and my house has no good recording spots, so I won't have too many funny and/or cool cosplay videos of her. :[
Why Withered Chica, you might ask. Because I hardly ever see cosplays of her, and she always gets overshadowed by Withered Bonnie. I also just kinda had a spontaneous vision on how to do the head piece and not-hands.
The music are 16 bit remixes I made of the Fnaf Movie Opener and Survive the Night. The piano one was me riffing off of a meme circulating of a Withered Chica png peeking around a doorway, and the audio for that was called "Old Doll | Bluerra-Sai"
I was listening to PnPh on repeat EVERY DAY that I was working on it, which was almost all of the days of the 3-4 months of actually writing the song, and animating the video.
So when I go back to listen to Bolts, I realized how AWFUL the mix sounds. I was juggling Deflemask files, on top of using midi pluigns on Reaper while still learning the DAW, EUAGH.
It's like when you make pancakes, and the first one always turns out cruddy, so you gotta throw it out and do another one and it's perfect.
So I'm redoing the whole thing lol. I'm about 70% done with the instrumental, and I have no clue what % with the vocals. A handful of lyrics have changed.
Like PnPh, I'll likely have a Drive folder with all my trials. Even the first few versions where I didn't intend to have anything sung. Just in-game sentence mixing.
As for what to expect from the video, I would really like it to be fully animated like PnPh. Don't expect it this year, lmao. However, the general interpretations of SL are agreed upon differently than ol' reliable Fnaf 1. Clearly, from my other videos, you can tell I'm drawn to "gaggle of troubled robot goons." I'll try to explain how this game goes into my head.
I am going to YAP for a WHILE.
-------
General aesthetic: Grim Wacky-Pomo with 90s grunge sprimkles.
The Funtimes have their own sentience, because A) Baby's story in her POV, and, B) This is fiction.
They are aware that they are entertainer bots, but they don't understand the kill code. It's like an underlying reflex. Separate Funtime Victims. It can work. It's flows smoother that way imo.
The way I interpret all haunted tronics is that the animatronic and the kid are separate. If not hanging around in it's head like Inside Out, then bound to stay near eachother, as if it has one of those plush child leashes.
If I were forced to stay locked in an underground bunker, getting mid-century insane asylum treatment with the ghost of a kid in my head for a fews years, I'd probably go kooky too. They are a bit more complex than the other bots, but they're still victims.
I've never seen anyone's Ennard interp that's close to mine nowadays, so I'll elaborate that as well:
[I use "he/they" for Ennard, because Scott uses "he" in UCN, but "they" can also work for multiple reasons.]
My Ennard interp has the basis of 2016's fanon, him being his own character that the others add onto later.
In a video I made blabbing about them, I noted that their head does not match up with any of the Funtimes, along with some other parts. I know Scott models things based on whatever comes to mind, but it's pretty strange.
My conclusion is that the head was just a test William did to see if these types of robots were possible for him to make. Even the mask, since it's a very simple design compared to the others. It's CPU has basic functions, a few party tricks, and codes for tracking fixed objects. And sentience. (It's important trust me.) After the whole "gas leaks" thing, William just shoves the head in a drawer in the Primary Control room. Ennard's design shares a few similarities to Coils from the Frights books, so that's who I'm betting on it being.
The Funtimes end up needing this head for their sewn together body, as none of their heads are suitable. [Pictured in this video.] Connecting this head to the circuitry of the others does like a 'Splatoon 3 memory storing liquid crystals' move, both from the bots and the ghosts.
From this point, he acts more like how a fusion from Steven Universe would work. An entirely new person composed of other people, sharing a few personality traits in a "Careful! Your Ruby's showing~!" kind of way, and splitting apart mentally when under pressure.
This is possible because Coil's idly active computer brain serves as a VERY lightly used canvas, and since his brain is where a brain would normally be, his input has priority. Circus Baby would eventually manipulate her way into control by backseating, because Coils ain't know what the heck is going on. He has no idea that's his name either, so he names themselves "Ennard."
Tldr, Coils head in the driver's seat of the getaway car that he's just been thrown in because the others can't drive, ginormous Circus Baby in the passenger seat, the rest of the Funtimes in the back, and the kids in the trunk, all micromanaging him.
This is why I'm so determined on them having a unique voice. My hc voice for him changes a lot, which is pretty on brand for him. If not anything close to a normal voice, it'd be like how the train from Dumbo "speaks," but make it garbled computer beeps and buzzes. The old method was called "sonovox," but the same effect can be achieved with a vocoder.
Normally I'd explain this through a video, but I'm more concise with text, and I sound too much like I'm reading offa script if I am.
When I mean "1-3," I mean I looked at all the rare screens, poster changes, minigames and such from said games while I was playing back the music, making sure it lined up with the right brain fold. That's how I usually do it.
I have also learned I can't always play what I write lol. I have a piano, and I tried playing the part at 2 minutes in. I programmed in those notes, surely I can play them with my tiny hands! Well I can, just a LOT slower than what I wrote.
I'll put this one on SoundCloud as well if yalls like this one.
"AARRG MOTHER OF SCOTT-I MEAN-SHIVER ME TIMBERS! WHO PUT THIS DOOR HERE?"
*suspiciously chicken chortles* "Foxy, you drill bit! I knew that wasn't gonna work!
"Oh did you now?"
"Nawww it's okay. We can try again when we get all the bolts back in your brain. Hehehehe (wink)"

The first just has no vocal track, the second cuts the main melody and bells out.

I wasn't planning on this song having lyrics for a while, but the last line and Chica's solo came to me once-upon-a mid Splatoon match. The song itself only took a few weeks total.
The animation was all done on Ibis Paint, except not the animation feature. I did that with a Survive the Night clip, and it kept crashing and breaking the file, so nope. Did it the ol fashion way where I treat layers like cels and save each "frame" as a png, send them to my Drive, download them on my phone and put them together with the audio on Inshot.
Took me over 3 months. This has been my whole summer. Just this.
A very large portion of this video has symbolism in it. I would explain it here, but I wanna read your little condensed thought-boxes first.
Oh and have fun finding super wacky smear frames. That's my favorite part.

How loyal you are, sticking around for 10 years.
To see a niche go through so may changes
I am flattered. Here is a gold star.
There is a big party on THE day,
since that's what we do,
and we thought that the fans should have something as well!
Like meeting your old friends for the first time, in the form of a song in C# minor, with the BPM at 175.
You know, something like-
(LYRICS)
Meet the crew
The Fazbear - Band!
We'd love to see you stop by
for a show or two.
Please be warned, kind of torn.
It's been decades but we're still kickin'!
Just glitchin' there are no dead kids~!
-
Hello? Hello Hello? Uh I just wanted to record a message for you...
gonna get the introductories outta the way~
Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, where fantasy and fun come to life!
-
([bitcrushed panned voclas]
~~there's a new friend
let's go greet him.
But if they don't turn up on the cameras~)
Speaking of, the robots here tend to wander after hours.
Keep a close eye on 'em-
-with the monitors.
And fend them off with the doors that require power.
But if it so happens you can't find something...or someone,
then it might be a good idea to-
Check your blind spots,
'cause we'll stop in,
for a
SURPRISE!
-
By "surprise,"
we mean you-
DIE,
But keep on coming back,
so we have a chance to
drag you out of that room,
stuff you in a suit and
by morning-
we'll sing and do a lil dance~
-
* Tronics singing the main melody in a way that'd fit their character until they all make one unintelligible unanimous sound for the last note *
-
See?
I told you that you'd be just fine!
They'll get more persistent-
-over the nights.
You might wanna check Pirate's Cove from time to time.
-
Bonnie, Freddy, Chica,
I've got an idea
Keep him busy, I'll dash in.
He won't know what hit him!
-
West hall, closing in the corner~
Can't see me~
Causing a ruckus!
Foxy what's taking you so long?!
Make way!
It's me!
I've got you now, you landlubber!
-
Golden days
lost in a-
haze
make sense of it for our new friend(')s missing pieces.
Seemingly, unlikely,
there's a possibility that you-
-know entirely what we mean!
-
Show's not over yet,
the party's just starting
when we're your friends!
Don't fear
ten years,
we'll always, always be
here/hear
the footsteps down the hallways.
One more hour,
but we're stalling
at the door
to waste your power.
5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Face the music.

I also noticed I never shared the non noisy version of the Splattack remix, so I shoved it here.
I've been working on this song since last year. It has gone through so many instrumental changes, and most of the time was spent on mixing. :') But finally, it's at a point where there's nothing particularly annoying that stands out like a sore thumb, so I've convinced myself to make an amv to go along with it.
The original was all made on Deflemask, but over time I've reworked it with Genny instead.
Yes there's singing. I'm not trained to sing, but I am a music person and I'm not tone deaf, so I tried my darndest. I don't wanna spoil it in the teaser, so instrumental for you.
This was pretty much the majority of my day.
No it's not done, of course in gonna make it a whole song, this ain't my first rodeo, but I don't think I've told you about the SL song have I? I did on Instagram, but I don't think I have here. 🤔 That one's almost done.
My middle school WoF era is coming back for vengeance. There are entire piano arrangements for most of the characters and their stories, and I can actually play some of them. This one, Jade Mountain Prophecy, and Darkstalker's Duet go the hardest.
I just listened back to this one and heard the sound font in my head. It's 9 minutes long, so I only did the first chunk.

I was surprised to find this is the same guy who did the "Bury Me in Metal" Springtrap Song that got over 3 million views. How do his other songs only have a couple 100,000? Before you say anything, I am well aware the atrocities of the writer of the original song. However, his music was an integral part of the early fanbase. A comment on Instagram said that Hatsune Miku wrote the song, so let's all just agree on that for now. Survive the Night by Hatsune Miku.
Animation wise, I've been working on this since late September, and my chromebook has been giving me issues this whole time. Today felt like Dawko winning 50/20.
The render on the right is indeed a Scott render. It was used in a poster, and I ripped it from a GT Live video, and added the eyebrow.
Don't take this as me ragging on VR2 on sight. I was extremely giddy when I saw he came back. I still can't get over his walk and crawl cycles. They animate him good, they just don't model him good.

Actually, this remix is 90% from memory. I had only heard TLT's, and Creature Feature's rendition, and decided to write my own from memory. When I was finished, I pulled up the original from like the 60s to compare, noticed I had whole parts left out, and fixed them. I didn't even mean to swing it either, it just kind of happened lol.
This was fun to play around with all the different brassy buzzy sounds I have, since the melody is repetitive.
It's weird how both franchises shown here always have a Halloween themed "level." You got Mystic Cave, Pumpkin Hill, the Haunted Mansion from Sonic Heroes that I can't remember the name to, and you got the Halloween edition of Fnaf 4, and the Curse of Dreadbear DLC for VR. Not to mention the Halloween themed office redos for the classic line up.
