Though this glitch/trick isn't new, it does make for a significantly quicker way to get to the island without the boats. A few important things to consider though. if you out of bounds and are on that layer of ground for too long, you will automatically die. To avoid that, just keep jumping repeatedly, though if you jump too high while below the sewers, you'll clip into them. Doing that while below the bottom of water floor however, and you can walk underwater without any danger of losing Yoshi to water as far as I know. Though it took a couple of tries for me to clip through the wall at the right angle like in the video, it's the easiest method to do this trick.

Enjoy! Anyone whose played the 3D Mario game for the Gamecube will likely remember some Shines being a pain or annoyance to obtain. One of the more infamous ones being to grab Yoshi in Defino Plaza, ride some boats to a small island out in the water, and spray the orange barrier blocking a pipe with his juices. Not only is this made extremely tedious by the fact that Yoshi can't swim in the water, but the Dirty River course inside the pipe brings bad memories for it's unforgiving difficulty and the exit pipe at the end.

Enjoy! This is the original last set I had in mind for this online series, and in a way I'm still calling it as such. There will still be splatfest sets for any seasonal fest reruns with different themes if I feel like covering them, but they'll be considered extra sets.
Hope you've enjoyed this Splatoon 3 series, as well as the the whole trilogy of online series, and continue to enjoy what remains from the seasonal fest reruns and thank you for joining me on this splat-tastic journey!

Enjoy! Well, well. Now THIS was certainly a treat of an update to stumble into. Half of the Satellaview tracks, the BS machines as alternate skins to the OG ones, Fire Stingray buffs, plenty of cosmetic goodies (most of them being emotes and new ways to show them off in races). Truly Nintendo saw fit to deliver a feast for F-Zero 99 players for the game's one-year anniversary. Actually, it may be more fitting to consider F-Zero fans in general being served well as the remaining two GBA games, one which previously never left Japan, are also coming to the NSO service.
Kind of funny this update came out not long after I made that BS F-Zero Deluxe video. Perhaps we'll see the other five BS tracks in the future? I can believe that possibility more than before. On another note, seeing the BS machines as just skins when they had their own stats is going to feel a little jarring to me for a while. Case in point, the Luna Bomber is a skin for the Golden Fox, but that machine plays NOTHING like the Fox. The Green Amazone would the more direct comparison stat-wise. Though to be honest, if the BS machines DID have their actual stats in this game, all but the Fire Scorpion would be in a league above the old machines performance wise.
Though I digress, so here's the timestamps for this video.

Enjoy! Last part of the playthrough. This part covers all of the levels in the "B" kingdom barrel and the second ending.
I had a lot of hesitancy about doing this game due to the control system I stuck with, mainly in regards to the boss fights and how much slower and inconsistent it felt to chip away at their health bars with the less than perfect inputs. Maybe I should have tried to play this game with the bongo controllers. Still, it was nice to revisit this game and finally get it off my checklist of games I wanted to do a playthrough of before I end my time on Youtube. Hope you enjoyed this playthrough and thanks for watching!

Enjoy! The 2000's were not the most kind to Donkey Kong's videogame career. Between the SNES Country and N64 games made by Rareware in the 90s and the Returns duology made by Retro Studios in the 2010s. Most of what DK had were handheld remakes of old favorites or gimmicky spin-off games that failed to leave a positive impact. Among those games were a series of rhythm games that used a special bongo controller that revolved around slapping the bongos and clapping to a sensor to do all of the inputs.
So what happens when you take those bongo controls and base a 2D platformer around them? What we got from that question is our playthrough subject this time, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. While the idea sounds absurd, the execution did produce quite an interesting title. Also this came from the same inhouse Nintendo EAD team that would go on to make the two Super Mario Galaxy games, so the quality both visually and gameplay wise does check out nicely.
As for my experience with game, I didn't own any bongo controllers to play it (heresy, I know). I mainly stuck with the regular Gamecube controller and the unorthodox controls given to it (for instance, tapping the C-stick in a direction is the clapping input). The big struggle coming back to the game was the mashing parts such as beating down an enemy or boss. I don't fully understand, but the idea seems to be tapping the control stick left and right. Though it feels more inconsistent to do now than I remember years ago.
So for this playthrough, I had to get a little creative on Dolphin and use a specific button configuration on one of my Switch controllers to fill in for that important part of the game as best as I could. It's not perfect, but I dallied on playing this game for my Donkey Kong marathon for far too long, so that's that.
Other than that, I'll be going for all the crests in the game. The highest tier, platinum, requires scoring 1200 beats in a kingdom of two stages and a boss fight. A threshold that can be far surpassed most of the time with proper knowledge of the combo system. I should also mention that this is the original Gamecube version of the game. There is a New Play Control version on Wii that changes a lot of things such as the controls with the Wiimote and Nunchuck, but said changes didn't look favorable for my setup on Dolphin anyways (besides, I'm one of those unfortunate souls that suffered through DK Barrel Blast and I've had enough of the Wii's intense waggle controls for the time being).
With all that said, hope you enjoy this playthrough!

Enjoy! This is supposedly the last official splatfest before any reruns or out-of-nowhere anniversary themed ones take place. I don't know how I feel that Past vs Future from the first game is used again with Present added this time. Granted the question asked is entirely different between games. Back then it was about time travel, and here in the third game it's about what's important to you. Perhaps they could've worded the team names a little differently as it comes off a little weird and repetitive as is, at least to to me.
How will the Splatoon series shake up following the results? I don't know. I usually upload my splatfest videos before the event is over. So we will just have to see after the fact. Though odds are I may not be around for whenever Splatoon 4 comes out. So have fun with that whole deal anyways.
As this is a splatfest and I'm on Team Future, my ink color will only be green unless it's a mirror match.

Enjoy! It's probably been a long time since I've done a video on a modded game or a rom hack. Two examples from days of old for me would be Smash Bros Brawl's Project M and Mario Kart Wii's CTGP. Now after all that time, I return to that area of gaming with a mod of the SNES F-Zero that caught my attention.
While not the flashiest mod you could find as it only includes 10 tracks and 4 additional racing machines on top of the usual lineup you all know from the classic game, it's the context around the new content that stands out significantly.
The new machines are ported over and the tracks are recreations from actual SNES F-Zero sequels that were exclusive to Nintendo's long abandoned Satellaview add-on for the Super Nintendo. There's quite the story and system behind this obscure nugget of Nintendo's history, but I'm not going to go into much of that here.
The main thing here is that a series of two F-Zero sequels were featured that contained the aforementioned content. Though pretty much everything on the Satellaview stayed there with all of it at risk of being lost media, at least officially. Modders have been making efforts to preserve the games and content from the add-on. One example is taking old VHS videos of people playing on the new tracks and running the footage through an AI program to help recreate the layouts and general themes while artists and programmers filled in the gaps among others stuff I'm not experienced to properly explain (lol).
Earlier in 2024, the recreations were complete and all bundled into this mod. While it was neat to race on these long lost tracks and play around with the new machines, I figured just doing a beginner difficulty playthrough on this SNES F-Zero game just wouldn't cut it from someone who's gotten really good at the similar F-Zero 99. So I finally dipped into master difficulty when before I couldn't beat King League on expert, oh how times have changed since then.
Well that should be all the stuff to say here. Other people on Youtube have gone into more detail regarding the Satellaview if you're interested in learning more about that, but for here, hope you enjoy what you see here!

Enjoy! The big finale Splatfest known as Grand Festival is nearly upon the world of Splatoon 3 at this point in time, but before that, a big run went on a week prior taking place on the unique stage made for the fest.
The main gimmick is the inclusion of orange cannons to launch eggs and help reach egg counts far greater than an average shift of Salmon Run. That's important too as Grizzco introduced a global egg count target of 700,000,000 for every player to met in order to get some fish scales with more promised if further milestones are met.
With that said, let's get into the timestamps for this special Salmon Run set.

Feels both neat and surreal to finally try out an offical version of Luigi's Mansion with the more unique Hidden Mansion, and I'm glad my expectations were well met in this regard. As an aside, many of PAL Hidden's differences can also be found on the 3DS version of the game, but that's besides the point.
With that, the whole trilogy is now (properly) covered on my channel. For this period of time, I've got other lingering projects to get to. I hope you enjoyed this playthrough and thanks for watching!

Enjoy! In my efforts to complete the Luigi's Mansion Trilogy for my channel, I knew I would have to go back to first game and give it the "Anew" treatment. Last time, I did a single part longplay where I went out of my way to avoid nearly all the money in the game save for the single coins worth of King Boo's crown forced upon you at the end of the game. A challenge worth a little fun (heh...), but what could I do for this new playthrough?
Well now that the emulation floodgates have been opened and I've gotten my first fill of experience with Dolphin, I remembered a significant regional difference with this game I can take advantage of. After beating the game once, you unlock an extra mode called the Hidden Mansion. Here, Luigi takes twice as much damage from any harm, but his Poltergust 3000 would gain a suction multiplier that allows him to drain ghost HP much faster. This makes HM a glass-cannon like mode, but the cannon part is more pronounced as the game isn't that much different otherwise.
At least that's how it is with the North American/Japan versions of the game, or NTSC for short. HOWEVER, when the game was later released in Europe/Australia, or the PAL version, Nintendo of Europe must have felt that some more spice could be put into this extra mode. The additions offered in the PAL version of the Hidden Mansion provide a FAR more different experience in comparison.
The whole mansion's layout is mirrored, the dark rooms a little darker, the Boos are faster and have different HP amounts, all the rooms where you fight regular ghosts contain either more ghosts to deal with or completely new formations that are usually harder or more chaotic, poison mushrooms spawn more frequently, and the main bosses have some tweaks to make them notably harder (though Area 2's boss isn't too different really).
Going for the PAL version to experience this different Hidden Mansion was a big reason for the anew playthrough, but I'll also pivot in the opposite direction and collect enough money to get the A-Rank mansion at the end. The threshold is a lot higher on PAL Hidden, but nearly all money ghosts and gold mice now drop diamonds when you capture them to help even the odds.
Well I've wrote up a lot in this description, so let's get the show rolling and I hope you enjoy this!
This part will cover Area 1 as well as the intro stuff usually skipped on Hidden Mansion playthroughs to make an otherwise short part more filling (which sounds crazy coming from me!)

Enjoy! Gobbers can be some of the most irritating ghosts to deal with in Luigi's Mansion 2. This video was made for personal reasons, but if this helps you as well, then all the merrier.
Enjoy! Last part of the playthrough, and it's an even bigger one as it covers all of Treacherous Mansion, the ending, and credits.
While some people questioned why this 3DS game got the HD Switch treatment (and a seemingly lazy one at that) over something like Kid Icarus Uprising, I'm not complaining at the end of the day (though I do hope Uprising gets a console port one day). The more I played this game for the channel, the less egregious the original issues it's known for became. I could one day see this as sort of a Pikmin 2 or Super Mario Sunshine situation to where this black sheep can find its audience if it hasn't already.
With games two & three now done, now's the time to round out the Luigi's Mansion Trilogy with a revisit of the first game. Hope you enjoyed this playthrough and thanks for watching!

Enjoy! Time to take a trip back a great series in Luigi's Mansion. I've already tackled the third game a few years ago, and now I want to get the whole trilogy on my channel proper. While I never obtained any means to record 3DS footage, Nintendo conveniently released an HD port of the second game, aka Dark Moon.
Dark Moon always seemed like the black sheep of the trilogy due to both its mission structure yanking the player in and out of the area you were exploring and E. Gadd constantly calling and thus slowing the pacing of the game. If one can get over these two factors among other things they may take issue with, then I'd say this is another worthwhile ghost-busting adventure with the green machine. Though this port gives little reason to buy if you already own the original 3DS version unless you really want to play this on a TV or with a different transferable console, $60 be dammed.
For this playthrough, I'll be getting all the gems when they're first made available along with getting the Boos in each mission. I also show where all the Gold Greenies are hidden if you need help squeezing just a little more gold for those 3-star ranks (there's no substantial reward and it doesn't take too much effort to consistently earn all of the ranks).
Something else you'll notice throughout the playthrough is a visual glitch with Luigi's left arm becoming inactive whenever a non-cinematic cutscene plays while calling out "hello" or "Mario." It was in the original release and I found it funny to abuse whenever I got the chance to do so.
With all that said, hope you enjoy this playthrough! This part will cover all of Gloomy Manor. As for the Boos in the first three missions before getting the Dark-Light, I'll just cut those in during the first times through.

As for Thousand Year Door itself, still an amazing game. Though it might be me, but I prefer the original. What with being able to speed up text whenever and battle animations being a lot slower. This remake does not respect your time as much, but that and some other nitpicks are evened out by the quality of life improvements such as reduced backtracking. If you haven't played this game before, then I can still recommend this remake.
Hope you enjoyed this playthrough and thanks for watching!

Now it'll take this part of the description for a personal spiel.
While it's great that I got to update my playthrough of one of my favorite games with its remake, there was a mental low point I faced during the editing process. It's a shame I never properly advertised my channel to feature abridging's and cutscene skipping in ways I think are fun ways to look at a video game's cinematics. Seeing that kind of editing in old game playthroughs was one of my biggest inspirations to create my channel. However, I guess not only does that seem very unfavorable, but downright hated; at least in the circle of people I've attracted over the years of my career. This also serves as a reason why I don't normally do playthroughs of RPGs. It's taken me a long time to come to this realization, probably more so than desired by you people. This time I set aside that aspect of my editing and tried to sprinkle in more minor bits of humor in throughout the playthrough.

Enjoy! It's time for another remake to both a beloved game and my playthrough of said game. While my RPG resume is rather small, mainly console Mario RPGs and Fire Emblem, I consider Thousand Year Door to be among my favorite games.
While a simple re-release on modern consoles would've been just fine, Nintendo took the extra step and remade the game from the ground up with fresh assets and some quality of life updates while staying faithful to the overall game. Said faithfulness is appreciated in going back to the gameplay style of the first two Paper Mario games when the series deviated heavily in the following installments.
As for this playthrough, I did consider doing a funny no dialogue thing like with some of my other Paper Mario playthroughs. Though my foresight (via a post I made) has led me to see that such an idea would definitely not be appealing to the masses. So I shall spare you that and leave the dialogue as is (though I am a fast reader, so keep that in mind if you're trying to read without pausing). I'll also try my hardest to resist abridging stuff like I usually do in the editing process barring some repetitive moments.
Other than that, the main collectable I'll get all of are the star pieces that can be traded to Dazzle for badges. Shine Sprites will also be collected, but that's a given for any normal playthrough. I won't do the other 100% stuff like the tattle logs or recipes.
With all that said, hope you enjoy this anew playthrough!

Enjoy! Ahead of Luigi's Mansion 2 HD's release, I decided to go back to the third installment's online co-op mode to do a solo challenge run of sorts (also an excuse to fill out the remaining rare ghosts I was missing).
The Scarescraper is meant to be played with up to four players to clear objectives and make your way up a randomly generated tower. Doing a run all by yourself is possible. You just have to know the mechanics of both the mode and the overall game itself, fastest ways to defeat ghosts, have good routing skills on the random floors, and maybe have good enough luck in some areas.
Some aspects actually get easier with just one player with the biggest thing being the pressure plate rooms being a complete non-issue when there's no uncooperative teammates to hold you back and cost runs.

Well considering how much of my channel's earliest legacy owed to this one tiny piece of Thousand Year Door, it was only fitting to take the opportunity to put everything I've learned about the lottery over the years and put it into a big video while using the new remake's pretty visuals.
