Castlevania AGA - Amiga Remake Retro.Freddy 2025-11-02 | A reimagined port of the 1986 original but with visuals inspired by Castlevania Chronicles and other non-8 bit titles in the series. The goal was to provide a playable and pure version of the original Castlevania but with an Amiga flavor. Not a port of the Sharp X68000 or PlayStation "Castlevania Chronicles" game, it only happens to use many level tiles and sprites from that game because it's a practical rendition of how OG Castlevania would look in 16-bit or 32-bit.Yes, there is a version that is playable on PC without an Amiga emulator. I'm not sure what the differences are, but it works. Mostly. A little buggy. A valiant effort though. It's still in the works so stay tuned for the finished project if you're into this. Toziuha Night: Nosferatus Curse Retro.Freddy 2026-09-20 | So far so good on this one. Do you like Castlevania III - Dracula's Curse? Enjoyed the Curse of the Moon games? This will make you feel right at home. Bordering on plagiarism and a love letter, this demo hits all the notes I was looking for. The story is simple and moves fast. Not too much text. Just enough to keep you engaged and get to know the characters a little bit. The first 2 characters you start with are an alchemist and a gunner, both of which have their usefulness in equal parts. I preferred the bat sub-weapon with the alchemist and the grenade with the gunner. Once you play through the demo the first time, 2 other characters become unlocked. Pretty much forces you to play it again just to see what they can do. I'll save that for another time. Castlevania fans will enjoy this. Mortal Kombat Uncensored Retro.Freddy 2026-09-19 | Brand spankin' new hack for Mortal Kombat on the Super Nintendo. Anyone else remember getting this one for the holidays and being like YEAH! Mortal Kombat at home!I already knew that there would be differences between this one and the Genesis version because of Gamepro and EGM, but I didn't care. I was willing to put up with the censorship.Fast forward 33 years and now we have a KOMPLETE version of the game! Well... at least it is inching towards that. The gameplay is much more balanced. Special moves are much easier to pull off. The meat and bones of this (pun intended) are the restored fatalities. Johnny Cage, Kano, Sub-Zero and Raiden all get their originals back. A bit reimagined of course, but they work here. Scorpion and Sonya leave a bloody skeleton behind instead of a bony white one. Liu Kang's remains unchanged, though it would have been nice if they could have made the head come away. C'mon guys. How hard would that have been? My favorite feature of this hack is being able to play as Reptile, having both the capabilities of Sub-Zero and Scorpion. The potential for combos is something I've always dreamed of. And yes, he can perform each of their fatalities. Goro is playable and cheap. You can literally just jump around the screen. Not much for moves and was not able to pull of a finisher so... if someone manages to figure out the input for that IF there is one, drop it in the comments. Once again, the fans deliver!Every character is available from the get go. Press start for the move list. There's no ticker but there are certainly some combos to be pulled off here. I chose Raiden on this playthrough because, why not? No one ever picks the wrestler. Especially not this guy!I found his desperation move to be impossible to pull off, as the computer AI pretty much needs to stand still in order for it to happen. So if you're wanting to see what that looks like, just fast forward to the Raiden vs. Raiden fight. The computer manages to get it done on me! :DA fresh burst of nostalgia in the morning pairs well with mushroom coffee. Highly recommended. Probably the most 1992-ish character in the whole game. Hence the name. The rest of the characters are lame. Musashi is the weakest toothpick wielding Samurai ever. Polar Express, The Retro.Freddy 2026-08-27 | Don't come at me funny, that's what the ROM was called. Did this for a Facebook friend. Cool guy. Kind of a scholar when it comes to retro games. I'm not sure how to do that, so I asked for something else. This is what we are left with. I mean, I guess if you saw the movie and it gave you feels... it's cool. Definitely kid friendly. Well... Until you play it. Nothing is attacking you. There's really no bullshit involved. Just collect the items and figure out how to control this character who has baby Prince of Persia vibes. It's like controlling a tank at times. A mini-tank. No attack moves. None of that. Just solving simple puzzles and navigating your way to the end. Simple and pure. Ain't gotta be dramatic to be a good game. I'd recommend this one to parents who have an 8 year old or something. It makes you read. And I hate it for that, but it's good for kids. Castlevania - Remnants of Darkness - Part 3 - Final Retro.Freddy 2026-08-24 | After somewhat of a hiatus I've returned to complete the play through of this demo. There was some grinding involved. Probably a good 20 minutes of it though, but just like most Castlevania games, there's a good spot to just rinse, wash, and repeat for those status boosts. I acquire a few different items in this run, most notably the Bullova. Doubles your attack power and gets the job done. Mostly. It's slow. But it's your only other option. You're stuck with the Ice Spell, but it's effective at turning projectiles from enemies into an ice torpedo so that's ok. I found a forge with the Fairy familiar in it. Without her, I would not have been able to complete this. Worked my way up to level 12 to take on Dullahan. He's loaded with some powerful attacks, but as long as you duck and try to time your attacks he is mostly manageable. I will admit... I did die several times before deciding to buff up so... if you try this, I recommend you do the same. This concludes this 3 part series as there is nothing else left to do in this demo. Unsure if there is more development going on with this, but I hope so as this was a refreshing take on the series. Playing as Hector in 2D felt pretty good. With more abilities, this could really be something to spend a good amount of time on. As always, thanks for watching folks. Ever played Castlevania - Rondo of Blood? Well... this is basically the Maria version of Super Ghouls N' Ghosts. This hack addresses the main problems many older games suffer. Bad controls and a lack of options. She can jump higher, faster and with more control in the air. The gameplay enhancements are nice. Chest hints are a no brainer. Being able to switch between all the weapons you collect is something we all needed in 1991. If you're a fan of this classic, you owe it to yourself to give this a try. Arthur can take a nap. Mega Man vs. Link Retro.Freddy 2026-08-20 | I find this level valid for several reasons. One of them is that very many people who enjoy Famicom Fighters think that Link should have been a playable character. Proven point here, Link could have a formidable move set and be a BLAST to play! Just make him based on Zelda II and we're good to go. Plenty to work with there. This level differs from the Mario level in that you have to explore a little bit to get things. There's 3 keys to find and you go up and down elevators to get them. It has a mini-boss fight! Almost more difficult than Link himself!I could go on... But I will say that the fans are doing better than the OG developers these days. We know what we want, and some people are brave enough to make attempts at creating their visions. I can't wait for the next 3 characters to be completed on this project. Mega Man blasting through Castlevania and Metroid styled levels? Count me in. I could do without Kid Icarus though. Metroid Prime Origins - Part 2 Retro.Freddy 2026-08-12 | Picking up where I left off after the intro level. This really amps up and becomes a whole lot of fun. In this playthrough I managed to acquire missles and the Morph Ball. Exploration opens up in traditional fashion. A couple of fun little mini-boss fights. Unlocked the Aeon Powers, which is a cool feature. More to come on this once I figure out what to do next. If you haven't gotten your paws on this yet, you had better get on it. Etna vs. Cloud - Card Sagas Wars Retro.Freddy 2026-08-11 | Etna is a main recurring character and Overlord Laharl's closest vassal in the tactical role-playing game series Disgaea. Ok, once again... haven't heard of her. But she's gained my interest here and fits quite nice. Cloud from Final Fantasy 7 rocks here.
