Christmas model train display in Santa Cruz Carls Trains & Stuff 2018-12-25 | The Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History hosted a holiday model train layout put up by the Golden State Toy Train Operators. Mostly 3-rail O gauge, with some G gauge and various animated attractions. The children attending were allowed to run the trains.This will be the last video of 2018. A Visit to The Golden State Model RR Museum Carls Trains & Stuff 2015-02-10 | Club website: http://www.gsmrm.orgThe Golden State Model Railroad Museum was open during O Scale West. I made the trek to Point Richmond and shot this video. Normally, the club is not open to the public at this time of year.The club maintains three layouts: one N scale, one HO scale, and one O scale. The layouts are huge and it takes a while to view them all. The N scale layout was not operating during my visit, so there isn't much coverage in the video.The club members are a great bunch and are happy to answer any questions the visitors may have. If you play your cards right, they'll let you into the Members Only area and get a behind-the-scenes look at the layouts. Video was produced in February 2015.

Cumbres & Toltec no. 463 to Cumbres Pass part 2 Carls Trains & Stuff 2014-09-29 | Part 2 of chasing K-27 no. 463, in which we watch the crew switching freight cars at Cumbres Pass. A reefer is picked up and a boxcar is spotted by the speeder shed. Then the train is wye'd in preparation for returning to Chama.It's only my opinion, but I find such operations just as interesting as pacing a train on the main line.

Snow on the Run Southern Pacific documentary Carls Trains & Stuff 2014-08-08 | A documentary produced by Southern Pacific chronicling their snow-fighting efforts on the Overland Route during the winter of 1951 and '52. This was the year the "City of San Francisco" was stranded due to heavy snow.There is no audio from 5:14 to 5:40, and from 5:48 to 6:50. This is because music on the audio track was flagged by YouTube as matching third-party content and had to be removed.
Mariners in Hard Hats: a Morrison-Knudsen film Carls Trains & Stuff 2014-08-05 | This is a documentary/promotional film produced by Morrison-Knudsen, documenting their construction of a causeway across the Great Salt Lake for Southern Pacific RR. This causeway replaced the wooden trestle which was part of the original Lucin Cutoff.
